An largely uninspired encounter, marked by a moment of brilliance from Emre Can. Liverpool’s 1-0 victory was priceless, from a Fantasy perspective, it was notable only for Philippe Coutinho’s early exit. Here’s the Stock Check from the final match of Gameweek 35.

In Decline

Philippe Coutinho
The Brazilian went into Monday’s clash as part of just over a million FPL squads, having been acquired by more than 50,000 new Fantasy Premier League owners ahead of Liverpool’s Vicarage Road visit.

In addition, Coutinho claimed the armband for 122,000 managers who had big expectations having seen the midfielder score in four of his last five Gameweek starts.

But his night lasted less than ten minutes before he suffered a dead leg in a clash with Watford’s Adrian Mariappa; a collision which ultimately led to Coutinho succumbing to the injury on 12 minutes.

His departure saw the re-introduction of Adam Lallana following a five Gameweek absence, but that will have been little consolation for Coutinho’s owners.

Jurgen Klopp confirmed post-match that the injury should not represent a major setback…

“He has a dead leg, hopefully it’s not too serious but of course it’s really painful and no chance [he could continue]. Everybody could see he tried hard, but no chance.”

While he will be expected to be back in contention for the visit of Southampton in Gameweek 36, Coutinho’s single point return at Watford, coupled with any minor doubt of his participation against the Saints, will undoubtedly accelerate sales.

He is already hovering outside the top five for transfers out, with 22,000+ jettisoning Coutinho so far, with traffic moving to both Alexis Sanchez and Eden Hazard in particular.

Roberto Firmino is not far behind his team-mate and compatriot. He went into the Watford encounter having returned in each of his last five Gameweeks, producing two goals and three assists.

Despite that form, his Monday night blank will exacerbate recent sales, with Firmino already ranked fourth behind Coutinho, Son Heung-min and Wilfried Zaha among FPL midfielders.

Quite simply, with Wildcards active, double Gameweek assets are dominant and despite Liverpool’s obliging run-in, both Coutinho and Firmino look set to become unlikely differentials for those without the option of an end of season refresh.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Why are people wild carding this week not learning from the mistake of us who wild carded last week?? I'm seeing most teams have gabbiadini in them after that shocking start last week ..the player is a big trap he was subbed out before 60min and the team played better without him, also austin has been training and is likley to feature and we saw how the manager sacrificed gabby with his first change, that shows you the manager isn't too keen on him now. Anyone care to explain to me the logic behind gabbi this week esp after that 1 point troll in 35?

negredo is a recent example that shows sometimes IT just doesn't work out well when you want It to be . blanked in easy games and had a haul vs Man City . all things aligning for a Big Gabbi haul .

on more serious note .. I would be happy with 4 points

Gabbi showed his upside earlier in the season. He's most likely to shine in DGW37 when most teams will have some rotation.

The only other player at his price point is Deeney who has terrible DGW matches and doesn't have two DGWs.

I got nothing. But i love your grav so I'll say that Gabb has the quality to smack some goals in against anyone. I think his removal against Hull was tactical and didn't pay off. I still think he's a decent option if you alerady had him, otherwise there are alternatives for that price, of course.

You'll also come to realise all those defending him currently have him in their team and are praying for some kind of return on investment given his recent no-showings

      Cech, Callabero,
      Cahill, Yoshida, Gabriel, Vertonghen, Holgate
      Sanchez, Hazard, Alli, King, Albrighton

Willing to risk with Gabriel as I have Cech too. Worst case, I can switch him to someone for 37.

    *Hypothetical*

If Sanchez was injured, which one Arsenal attacker would you want in your team:
    Ozil, Walcott, Giroud or Welbeck?

Just a hypothetical for those who can't afford Sanchez in a balanced side.

those who have now TC as myself are left in a state of pickle right now
37 is mostly reserved for BB.
    38 could be anything

Only remaining Gameweek left then is 36. Sanchez has 2 games. he is not in form .Haz is at home but can't really trust a player who is playing single game .anything can happen .

Pork off I am sticking my TC on Sanchez as I can't see any other route .if I see any other route I will take it away from him.
TC rests on Sanchez for now.
    Do me proud Boy

Hazard and King are your only other options.

If you don't go Sanchez for TC and it works, you're a genius. If Sanchez finally does the business again and didn't captain, you're a moron... and it will be a really really long gameweek.

If you TC Sanchez and it doesn't work, you still did the logical thing.

arsenal lack of scoring lately.... last 5 GW they only scored against MID & WHU which is terrible in defense. vs LEI they had a scrappy OG.

on the other hand, SOU conceded lots of goals vs big teams & MU has europe league matches between their fixture.

a gambling that could pay off

That is a good point. Val to Monreal looks a good move, unsure on DDG to Cech, considering United much more solid and have a better gw38. Just worried that Romero plays one in 37, even if it's unlikely

    Morning!

Reckon this is worth it given the DGWs and my plan to BB in GW37? 8 pointers for 2 defenders sounds crazy, but they likely bring 5 extra starts over 36/37....

    Cech (4) + Gabs (3) = 7
    Grant (0) + Valencia (2) = 2

    Grant & Valencia -> Cech & Gabs (-8)

    Jaku
    Bavies, Stones, Robertson
    Sanchez, Hazard, Eriksen, King
    Costa, Jesus, Gabbi

    Grant, Zaha, Brunt, Valencia
    Bank 0.0m, 0FT, no WC

            Possible, but pretty unlikely:

            Cech (MUN, sot)
            Jaku (SUN)

But it's not just this week, it's the next 3 games that the hit needs to work out:

            Jaku (SUN, TOT) vs
            Cech (MUN/sot, SUN/sto, EVE)

            Valencia (ars, tot/sou, CPL) vs
            Gabriel (MUN/sot, SUN/sto, EVE)

No brainer in 37 with BB.
              Sunderland can't score.
Gabriel playing all 5 would be a miracle.

Agreed. I think he should be good for 3-4 starts. Valencia likely only plays 2-3 of his remaining 4 games given Europa and his injury/fatigue issues imo, so it's likely 1 extra game for Gabs over the run in, with easier fixtures, but more importantly, it facilitates Cech over Grant.

Think Valencia will play more than you think as United want top 4 and Mustafi can derail Gabriel very quickly in 37.

Agreed. With no cash it means either Pickford or a -8, and with SUN down I'm not expecting much from their assets. Other 8 pointer options being:

            Courtois & Yoshida
            Willy & 5.6

Or keep Valencia and lose one of Bavies/Brunt/Stones and get Willy & Yoshida

I'm planning to BB this week and then TC in 37. Quite concerned about United's defence with almost everyone gone now. Do you think I should do Blind > Davies for a hit? Not too concerned about Rose threatening his minutes unless he becomes fit for this weekend itself. Can afford to bench him next week anyway.

I have minimal confidence in Sanchez (TC). To me, Hazard or Kane (TC) plus the 3 players coming off the bench this week is more appealing than Sanchez's fixtures this week plus my bench next week. In any case, I have 3 SGW players (King, Daniels, Holgate) next week so I don't necessarily get more games from the bench.

I think so, Conte has been starting him at home for his creativity against lesser teams. Even if it's just for the gw 38 SUN fixture which could be a cricket score...

            Pickford
            Gabriel Yoshida Alonso (Chambers Vertonghan)
Sanchez (c) Alli Hazard King JWP
            Kane Jesus Benteke

Worth going AOA this week? If so which two defenders would you play?

              Bench Benteke maybe?

Benching Gabriel/Yoshida is an option but its double gameweek in the end, fun time!

    Please help. Thanks!

    Cech, Callabero,
    Cahill, Yoshida, Gabriel, Vertonghen, Holgate
    Sanchez, Hazard, Alli, King, Albrighton
    Kane, Gabbi, Jesus

Willing to risk with Gabriel as I have Cech too. Worst case, I can switch him to someone for 37.

      Looks good.

Prefere Capoue to Albrighton but that's splitting hairs.

Thanks! That will give me 0.4 extra to enough to turn Gabriel into Blind or Cahill to Alonso.

    A) Ozil Gabbi

    Caballero Pickford
    Stephens Yoshida Holgate Alonso Koscielny
    Alli Hazard King OZIL Sane

Who on earth do you bench out of that lot?! Because of that make it a proper 3-5-2 and also get arsenals best player

Repost, No BB or any other chip and WC on :

    Jakupovic
    Monreal - Stephens - Alonso
    King - Sanchez - Hazard - Eriksen
Costa - Kane - Gabbi - (WC 0.2 ITB) (Pick, Carroll, Love, Gabriel/Yosh)

Then I'll take a -4 maybe to do Sanchez and Gabbi to Jesus and Alli if they don't perform well. What do you think? GTG?

Sanchez differential? the whole world is having him in their teams...probably better off choosing Siggy or Pedro

The whole world minus my ML rivals. I don't know whether to be positive about his potential explosiveness or negative about his lack of form.

Thoughts on any changes? I don't trust Southampton at all until the Boro game and think Maguire could get a clean sheet and has goal potential.

    Vertonghen, Alonso, Maguire

    Kane, Jesus, Costa
