An largely uninspired encounter, marked by a moment of brilliance from Emre Can. Liverpool’s 1-0 victory was priceless, from a Fantasy perspective, it was notable only for Philippe Coutinho’s early exit. Here’s the Stock Check from the final match of Gameweek 35.

In Decline

Philippe Coutinho
The Brazilian went into Monday’s clash as part of just over a million FPL squads, having been acquired by more than 50,000 new Fantasy Premier League owners ahead of Liverpool’s Vicarage Road visit.

In addition, Coutinho claimed the armband for 122,000 managers who had big expectations having seen the midfielder score in four of his last five Gameweek starts.

But his night lasted less than ten minutes before he suffered a dead leg in a clash with Watford’s Adrian Mariappa; a collision which ultimately led to Coutinho succumbing to the injury on 12 minutes.

His departure saw the re-introduction of Adam Lallana following a five Gameweek absence, but that will have been little consolation for Coutinho’s owners.

Jurgen Klopp confirmed post-match that the injury should not represent a major setback…

“He has a dead leg, hopefully it’s not too serious but of course it’s really painful and no chance [he could continue]. Everybody could see he tried hard, but no chance.”

While he will be expected to be back in contention for the visit of Southampton in Gameweek 36, Coutinho’s single point return at Watford, coupled with any minor doubt of his participation against the Saints, will undoubtedly accelerate sales.

He is already hovering outside the top five for transfers out, with 22,000+ jettisoning Coutinho so far, with traffic moving to both Alexis Sanchez and Eden Hazard in particular.

Roberto Firmino is not far behind his team-mate and compatriot. He went into the Watford encounter having returned in each of his last five Gameweeks, producing two goals and three assists.

Despite that form, his Monday night blank will exacerbate recent sales, with Firmino already ranked fourth behind Coutinho, Son Heung-min and Wilfried Zaha among FPL midfielders.

Quite simply, with Wildcards active, double Gameweek assets are dominant and despite Liverpool’s obliging run-in, both Coutinho and Firmino look set to become unlikely differentials for those without the option of an end of season refresh.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Missed out vs Burnley supposedly due to a minor injury but recent minutes suggest its something more.

Rumours of a falling out with Poch and a City move too.

Evening all, first RMWCT request. I've seen enough on here to know it's fairly template, but would appreciate anyone pointing out any weaknesses.

    Cabellero, (Pickford)
    Alonso, Monreal, Yoshi, (Stephens), (Holgate)

        Yeah, that's what I like.

I'm just 9 points off my minileague leader, We will now have essentially identical teams, but I have Sanchez and Erickson and he has Zaha and Cout (I have no idea how his team value is so low). I'm hoping Sanchez will pull me over the line.

If you want to get punty, you can throw in Holding for Holgate. Bench fodder anyway, so if you use bench boost, you can roll the dice without much risk.

Kicked Kane to give away the pen. Taken off to go 4 at the back. He's a dodgy one especially if Wenger mentions nothing of sticking with 3 at the back.

If Wenger goes 4 at back Monreal will be first choice left back, alternating with Gibbs, and Gabriel will partner Kos until Mustafi returns i reckon.

Ye I think that too but Holding was good in the Cup Semi so there's doubt back there again for 36... Really hoping Wenger mentions something regarding the whole defence.

Monreal is my pick until he does, he is the most secure in my price range, especially if once Mustafi is back Wenger sticks with 3 at back and Monreal stays on wing.

Nailed regardless until Mustafi comes back. Could be nailed with Mustafi in the team if they play 3 at the back, but obviously if they switch back to 4 then he's behind Mustafi and Koscielny in the pecking order.

Thanks. I can't afford a second Chelsea defender, but I can make it work with Courtois. I think he will easily provide more points than Pickford. I think that Mourinho will tighten up at the back (as much as possible with defender injuries), and Blind seems to be pretty nailed on with opportunity for bonus points. Albrighten is bench boost fodder, and won't lead to a benching headache this week. Ultimately, I'm not so sold on Sane. I'm starting to lean toward A.

You. The bench boost alone can hopefully make up most of the gap in GW37. It's a more sure-fire way to get extra points than TC because on a bad week it'll still get you 15-20 points just from all your DGW players turning up. Whereas if your TC blanks you only get the extra 4 points.

Unfortunately it leaves a less than ideal TC with Sanchez...

I'd say if you get a bit lucky BB 36 and TC 37 (Hazard) has a higher points ceiling than a TC 36 (Sanchez) and BB 37, but the latter is much safer.

Thanks. For the informative input Pierce. Will certainly consider ho for bench boost this week. But, I think I will remain to the safer route. If I am 60-80 points to catch up, then, maybe I will for TC37. As of now, safer to BB37 I guess.

Yeah Spurs loaded, have King, Dele, Hazard, and Kante' so looking for another hitter for 36 and 37

I don't know then, depends on money ITB. I'd ditch Kante before Firmino as he won't get you anything despite the extra game.

Sane? King? Not very imaginative suggestions but they're template for a reason.

Are people choosing Sane over Eriksen because of the extra cash or because they think he will get more points?

The WC midfield I see the most on here are Sanchez, King, Alli, Hazard and Sane

Ah fair enough, I have that but with Eriksen over Alli. I'd back Eriksen to score more than Sane, to answer your question.

Think my team is sorted for DGW 37, with a poor TV this is probably the best I will get for the DGW37 on WC

    Caballero | DDG
Alonso Cahill Vertonghen | Holgate Stephens
Hazard Alli Sane King | Albrighton
    Kane Gabbiadini Jesus

Not a single Arsenal player with back to back doubles? At the very least, get Cech over DDG.

This is the strikers rank of importance:
      Jesus / aguero (if fit)
      Kane
      Vardy/costa
      Lukaku?

        I think about this:

        Kane
        Costa
Jesus/Aguero .. because of tired / injured and Pep
        Vardy
        Lukaku

1,2,3. Does Vardy seem unreasonable in 37 with away at City and home to Spurs?

I think Leicester will finish the season like last seasons Leicester so yea they can give spurs the run around maybe

Who is likely to score higher?
    Jesus home to Palace
    Lukaku away at Swansea

Lukaku is due a haul isn't he?

Jesus clearly. Aguero likely injured so potential Jesus up front alone at home. 4 goals 5 shots. Lukaku has a very bad away form, plus is against Swansea fighting relegation.

Kaku looks disinterested as does all of Everton. He hasn't done well away this year

Yeah all the signs are there but keep stubbornly thinking palace will stun city as they have other big teams and Lukaku could be a differential

    Wc team:

    Willy
    Azpi Monreal Stephens
    Sanchez Hazard Alli King
    Gabbi Jesus Kane

    Pickford Holgate Albrighton Ben Davies*

*£1m itb to upgrade to Vert if rose comes back, or just flexibility for injuries, drops etc

    4 DGW 36
    13 DGW 37

Anything missing? Would like Sane but cant get without losing balance!

    Cheers all
