Gameweek 36 finally comes to an end this evening as Southampton entertain Arsenal at St Mary’s.

Alexis Sanchez will again be the focus of most managers’ attentions. Sitting in over 27% of FPL squads, the Chilean was the most captained player (11.2%) in the round of fixtures but a blank at home to Man United in his first match of Double Gameweek 36 means he has now netted just once in seven league appearances.

Meanwhile, his team-mate Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain looks to add to a pair of assists in the 2-0 weekend win over Jose Mourinho’s side. The Gunners’ wing-back has been drafted in by over 15,000 FPL managers this week for a Double Gameweek 37 against Stoke and Sunderland.

For the Saints, Manolo Gabbiadini was the fourth most transferred in player ahead of last week’s deadline, with over 108,000 taking the plunge.

Yet a blank against Liverpool took his run to one assist in five, as Claude Puel’s defence racked up the points at Anfield instead thanks to a fourth clean sheet in seven.

Thanks to his spot-kick stop away to Liverpool, the Saints’ Fraser Forster leads the way among the Double Gameweek contingent on 16 points ahead of tonight’s 7.45pm encounter.

Think I'm down to either making a double change (on top of the goalkeeper change I did earlier in the week), or sticking with what I've got and keeping the points.

Which do you think will score more this week?

    A) Jesus and Stephens (have Yoshida)

    B) Rashford and Valencia + 8 points

But it's close with the 8 points and you'll know more (even if just a little) after the United game tomorrow.

Cheers. Yeah, I'm hoping to wait until tomorrow.

Have exact change to make these moves, so hopefully no rises/drops tonight.

Should be fine on the price front. Worst case replace Stephens with Holding if some 0.1 goes against you.

Need a replacement for Gabriel. Best defender for 4.9?

    Some considerations:
    A. Gibbs
    B. Holding
    C. Ben Davies
    D. Dawson

Additional options: Cedric, Yoshida, Simpson, Ake...

Currently gonna go for either A or B.

I have the same issue and currently leaning towards C. Too much unpredictability when it comes to the Arsenal defence, when Kos comes back he could either replace Holding or Gibbs and have Monreal at LWB. Too many variables.

At this point his return keeps getting pushed back I wonder if he'll play again this season, or why they'd bother dropping Davis for him just to get one game in before the season finishes. Surely better not to risk him and have him injury free for pre-season.

Holding could be a 4.9 defender (not City).

    Pickford / Henn
    Monreal / Kompany / Alonso / Bertrand / Stephens
    KDB / Eriksen / Hazard / King / Zaha
    Gabbi / Jesus / Kane

    0 itb 90k OR

Currently 60 behind my mini leader. Happy to risk and take hits:

    1. Hazard + Hen > Ozil + Cech (-8)
    2. Hazard + Eriksen > Fabregas/Willian + Sanchez (-8)
    3. Gabbi + Hen > Anichebe/Borini + Cech (-8)
    4. Something else
    5. Hold

I am and I'm not scared of Sanchez. My mini leader has him so I did Sanchez > KDB before he did okay tonight. Not sure I want him back.

    Thoughts and help chaps?

I think it's something like 6/7 clean sheets for Arsenal in his last 7 starts. Can see Gibbs dropping out and Monreal going to LWB and Kos - Holding - Mustafi in the middle with Bellerin (ox injured) on the right the rest of the way. Gabriel in reserve.

I have 12 dgw players for next week. I'm going with BB, but don't know what to do with Blind, JWP and Haz...are they at rotation risk?

    Pick/Jak
    Alonso/Blind/Stephens/Holgate/Kelly
    Sanch(C)/Haz/Eriksen/Ali/JWP
    Kane/Jesus/Anichebe

      JWP to Albrighton maybe?

Blind is a big risk, he'll surely play tomorrow, depends how strenuous a game he has. Also if smalling/Jones came through Sunday ok. If they're both on the bench and Blind plays, you need to ditch him.

30 points ahead in my ML.

Rival has Costa, and I have Kane (he is unable to afford Kane!). He also has Cech whereas I have Pickford as my goalie along with Willy.

    Should I block/chase fixtures?

    A. Kane to Costa;
    B. Keep Kane; or
    C. Pickford and Kane to Cech and Costa (-4)?

    1. the snazzy viking
      • 9 Years
      8 years, 11 months ago

A seems unnecessary, B seems like a good plan but could be a risk and C is a waste of a hit considering Pickford and Kane still both play 2 games. Overall, it's B.

After finally overtaking my rival tonight for the first time this season I probably should have played safe with transfers... but that just ain't my style. -12 hit taken with a few differentials for a final push. Now the question is, who to captain?

    Cech
    Alonso / Monreal / Cedric
    Sanchez / KDB / Eriksen / Mahrez / Sane
    Kane / Jesus

    Pickford / Yoshida / Kone / Anichebe

Bench boost in play. Who to captain?

        Yeah sure.

        Valencia / Hazard / Alli / Gabbiadini

        To

        Kone / KDB / Mahrez / Jesus

Most will think it's a poor move but I'm happy with the risk and excitement to see if it pans out and hopefully helps me clinch my £540 ML prize.

Happy with this on BB, used WC about 10 weeks ago so planning has worked out pretty well despite some pretty big hiccups:

    Cech, Willy
    Alonso, Vertonghen, Yoshida, Stephens, Holgate
    Sanchez, Hazard, Eriksen, Sane, TCarroll
    Kane, Jesus, Gabbi

Who to captain? If Kun is out for the DGW I will go for Jesus, but otherwise I'm torn between Hazard, Sanchez and Kane... Alonso as a wildcard. Looking to gain about 30 points to leap into top 100k from 150k.

Things getting tense now coming into this DGW, I can't find any updates but does anyone have any news on Britos?? It says he'll be back for the Everton game but can't find any info.

I'm planning to do -8 on:

    Jakupovic, Ward (Bur), Zaha
    to
    Caballero x2, B Davies x2, Matic x2

The rest of the squad pretty strong (apart from Britos) with DGW throughout - Bench boost activated.

That leaves me with 0.1, do I take another hit on Britos for Holding? Sounds like Holding has more chance than Gibbs of playing 2, Watford plays Eve + Che even if he makes it back.

    Toughie!
