Saturday’s action concludes at the bet365 Stadium now as Stoke go head-to-head with Arsenal in the evening kick-off.

With four of the top five captains for Double Gameweek (Diego Costa, Romelu Lukaku, Sergio Aguero and Eden Hazard) failing to find the net already, Alexis Sanchez’ 10.6% armband backers will be hoping he can build on his midweek strike at Southampton.

Indeed, with a home encounter against Sunderland also to follow in midweek, the Chilean has been triple-captained by 70,403 in the penultimate round of fixtures.

Handed a third straight league start, the Gunners’ Rob Holding was the fourth top transfer target for Double Gameweek 37 – over 100,000 FPL managers drafted in the summer signing from Bolton as a budget-friendly route into a rearguard that’s delivered three clean sheets in their previous four.

Marko Arnautovic looks the man most likely to breach the Arsenal defence. The Potters’ wide man has played a part in four of his side’s last five strikes, serving up a goal and three assists over the last four Gameweeks.

I don't understand why Arsenal don't play like Spurs when they line up like this. Sanchez should have the role of Alli (practically 2nd striker) and Ozil play the role of Eriksen. Let the wing backs do the crossing

Anyone thinking that additional chips were introduced to keep the interest of the casuals? Surely that is to the benefit of FPL and their sponsors?

IMO it's made the game more of a lottery. The more serious players can play hard all season only to fall at the GW37 hurdle due to squad rotation, teams heading to the beach etc.

Agree, keeps visits on the site up for longer.

Also allows people to set up a new team any given gameweek and just bench boost to try and get a no.1 GW Rank and win a prize.

      I don't think they're going away.

With lots having Pickford Stephens Holgate and Anichebe/Gabbi I would say alot have yes...

I have the first 4 of these so, yes I'm a serious player and feel like I've failed...even though I do have Jesus (c) and King 🙁

Yes, and I not dissing you but lot of serious players have this and it's a complete fail. See my post (1st post of this article) about an alternative strategy and see what you make of it.

I don't think many of us would have picked these players if it were not for the DGW BB; trying to maximise DWG players by picking bargain basement.

            McAuley to Stephens
            Siggy to Hazard
            Heaton to Pickford

These transfers not looking so hot now but guess we have to take this into account when playing the game in it's current format.

            1. Pep says
              • 10 Years
              8 years, 11 months ago

Exactly, wouldn't have picked them so isn't BB'ing with players you don't really want kind of pointless. Better do it early in the season when form, line ups and scoreline are more predictable.

Well then the 'serious' players have not got it right, possibly overthinking it and not allowing for anomalies. Fpl is over 38 weeks not just 1, any 'serious' player will know from experience that rotation is most likely later in the season when needs dictate, e.g. Soton assetts were never really going to play 4 games when their season is done and we know Koeman has tendency to rotate.
I can't blame Fpl for this, nor can I blame the chips, it's all part of being a manager imho.

            Agreed, see my last post.

We take these chances hoping that the rotation won't effect out chosen ones...but it hurts when it does. Even more so because we should know better. But still think that it does make the game more of a lottery where 37 weeks of astute planning goes up in smoke and your rival just happened to pick the golden ticket.

On the subject of BB and whether or not its really worth it on these late double GWs when rotation is an issue: I took an 8pt hit which I would not have otherwise have taken. I cant say for sure which players I might have benched, but would have probably played Holgate for what I was sure was a guaranetted 6 points. .And I might have benched King for a double GWer.... I certainly wouldnt have played Willy or Fabs (both of whom I transferred in for this) - so I have definitely gained 6 points so far and should at least cover my hit. And had the gamble paid off (clean sheet for ManC and a goal for Fabs, for example) be quids in already.

So I guess I will probably do the same next year.

Cover your hot yes but your using a bench boost so how many points is it really gonna be worth and should there be more potential in it!
