Excess baggage checked in, deckchairs reserved and sun block applied – the Scoutcast team are all ready to hit the beach.

Smack in the middle of Gameweek 37, with points flowing from all angles, not even Hal Robson Kanu’s late goal can upset the pre-vacation mood.

Stringing five men across the midfield, Luke and Az join Jonty, Andy and myself for a bumper end of season episode as we tackle another volley of questions from you, the community.

We conduct a post-mortem on the flurry of chips, weigh up the Gameweek 38 punts, put together our final day Wildcard XI and take a look back on our own personal highs and lows of a topsy-turvy season.

After 128 minutes of that lot and sunstroke already setting in, we even forget to chat captains and transfers come the end, only to make amends later.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

It's becoming clear that the problem with playing BB in GW37 is that you are almost certain to leave a massive benching headache for GW38 (assuming you don't have Gabbi, obviousl!)?

      Naah, not for me
      Anichebe
      Holgate
      TCarroll
      Jakupovic

Bench is done even if dont use my 2FT 🙂

And if you had BB'd this week it would have contributed 5/6 points. Assuming you didn't bring those in with GW37 in mind?

Benching headache is a good one to have rather than having no players.

This is true - rotation could mean you need the whole bench.

Talking about the way of using chips when it comes to bb I ll use it when I feel o have a good chance of scoring points on the bench but I won't work.my way around it , as you say a few will now have headaches with gw38 , I won't though , I still have bb 🙂

The post was aimed at those of us who worked to a decent GW37 BB. If you are BBing this week, you're obviously laughing (rest/rotation aside)

That's a reason for going for a couple of playing cheapies such as Anichebe and keeping the team value stacked in certain areas. Victor didn't really pay off but he easily could have done, and I can leave him on the bench now.

      1. Going Home
        • 14 Years

Like I wrote below, it's all a balancing act. Either get lucky with a cheapie going big (Victor would have been lucky to contribute at all) and have no headache or have someone you want to start. To be fair, if united didn't have the EL final, I wouldn't hesitate to bench Wilf

No really (cheapos), but that's the toss-up with bench boost - decent bench or 'waste' players/£ for GW36/38.

        • 14 Years

That's it isn't it. You either have someone you're *happy* to play in BB sand then struggle to bench one, or have a "weak" BB and no benching headache

    My current team:

    Caballero
    Vert - Alonso
    Zaha - Alli - Sanchez - King - Hazard
    Kane (C) - Jesus - Gabbi

    Jaku, Yoshida, Stephens, Huth
    1FT, 0.3 ITB
Needless to say, Gabbi is on the chopping block for my FT (and possibly Hazard out too)

Need to ensure I beat this dead team to secure h2h ML, yet also score enough points (currently have a 6 point lead) to secure other total points ML

    Lloris
Alderweireld - Walker - Monreal - David Luiz
    Hazard - King - Antonio - Firmino
    Lukaku - Costa (C)

    Jaku, Capoue, Mawson, Barnes

    Suggestions?

Heh I scored 161 and in my circumstances it was a massive let down.

Did what was needed, maintained position. I had already secured my ML win.

Happy but could be much better without Hazard and Gabbiadini

Delighted - took an uncharacteristic -12 punt to play 15 dgw'ers. "Rolling the dice" in a last ditch attempt to close gap on Top 10k.

      186 (-12). OR approx 9700.

Crawled from 90 points behind my league leader a few weeks ago to now be 5 points behind going into the final week. Wish me luck!

Sigy: “I expect to stay. I signed a new contract last summer and I’ve got three years left, so it’s down to the club if they want to sell me. It’s down to them, but I’m very happy here,” he said, as reported by the Liverpool Echo.

    Meh.

Id say it suits him being the main man. It never worked out for him at Spurs

Would probably still be the main man in Everton or Newcastle.

And good on him. Shows he's more interested in the game than the money. Will be one of the 1st in my team next season

Can see SWA being half decent under Clement next season. Siggy will be in my XI in GW1 if he stays!

      Cech...
Lukaku is in deep slumber, Kane may have woken him up, seems to late though...
And even if he wakes up, Save points for Cech 🙂

    G2g?
    Template team

    Heaton
    Davies, Cahill
    King, Sane, Sanchez, Couthino, Alli
    Costa, Jesus, Ayew

    Cab, - Holding, Yoshi, Gabriel

Taken a -4 with my OR now 95K i probabily will be now in above 100K rank
Think it's possible to end in the the 100K?

Comforting goal when you can't win your ML anymore..

At least now in a season where on balance very little has gone wrong, (bar missing Josh King) going into a WC with Kane and coming out with Costa is definitely not only this season's biggest blunder but several seasons worth!

How it only cost me 40 odd places in OR is a miracle in itself though.
