It’s now time for our weekly Sky Sports Focus article, where we look back at last weekend’s action, before preparing you for the incoming Gameweek.

We’ll examine the recent run of Man of the Match (MoTM) awards, the bonus point beneficiaries, transfer trends and Watchlist, before moving on to the Scout team and our future plans.

Gameweek 10 Man of the Match Awards

These were the players who caught the eye of the Sky Sports reporters and earned an extra five points as a result.

FixtureMoTM
Liverpool vs Man UnitedJoe Gomez
Man City vs StokeKevin De Bruyne
Burnley vs West HamSteven Defour
Spurs vs BournemouthAsmir Begovic
Swansea vs HuddersfieldTammy Abraham
Crystal Palace vs ChelseaWilfried Zaha
Watford vs ArsenalTom Cleverley
Brighton vs EvertonAnthony Knockaert
Southampton vs NewcastleManolo Gabbiadini
Leicester vs West BromMarc Albrighton

Kevin De Bruyne picked up his third award of the season and second in as many matches. The Belgian is in the form of his life right now and, despite playing in a deeper role, could still be worth the outlay at 11.5m.

The budget-friendly Tammy Abraham (8.6m) earned his second award and continues to look great value in Swansea City’s home matches.

Sky Sports favourite Wilfried Zaha returned from his early-season injury to lead the line for Crystal Palace against Chelsea and promptly delivered a goal and MoTM award. At 9.3m, he once again looks a tempting option ahead of an extended run of favourable fixtures for Palace, particularly if he remains in the central striker role.

Gameweek 10 Bonus Points

Let’s take a look at any player to earn 11 points or more in bonus for the season

members

Four Man City players make the top six positions, with Fernandinho now the game’s overall bonus leader.

Fantasy Football Scout members can access all information regarding bonus points using player stats and clicking the Sky Sports tab.

Here I aim to highlight a few differential players with low ownership who I think could be good options for the coming six weeks.

Notes

And so concludes possibly my worst ever Gameweek in Sky Sports.

Only Harry Kane netted more than two points after obtaining shots on target bonus. That was made all the more painful by Eden Hazard, Philippe Coutinho and Mohamed Salah all scoring a hatful of points in Europe midweek.

Last week I said It was a risk going without Man City players and ultimately that’s what punished me. I’m now scratching my head and wondering how I can fit one of them in.

David Silva or Raheem Sterling are my preferred options due to their cheaper price points in comparison to De Bruyne and the City forwards. But I don’t want to lose any of my aforementioned midfielders or either of the highest-owned players in the game, in Kane and Romelu Lukaku.

That leaves me with Jamie Vardy, who only just came in on Monday and is required for captain cover over the next few weeks. For now, then, I’m going to have to rely on Burnley to stifle the City attack. Terrifying.

Captain Plan
Fri 20th – Suttner (whm)
Sat 21st – Lukaku (hud)
Sun 22nd – Kane (LIV)

Just a post to congratulate Everton Football Club on acting quickly and banning that horrendous excuse for a father (and human being) who tried to punch a few Lyon players last night. They also gave his details to the cops, so hopefully he gets what's coming to him. That poor kid has no hope with him as a father though, sad to see.

Yep, powerless steward in that situation. Ashley Williams should get banned for instigating it all like a little child. Isn't he supposed to be captain of his country? A fine example.

Well they deserved that one. It's a big call sacking Koeman.. he was short and pretty feisty with the press yesterday, so he's showing signs of desperation. They are so slow though, very predictable.

    Eriksen > Sterling look good?

    DDG
    Jones Davies Naughton (suttner)
    Silva Sterling Salah Atsu (Carroll)
    Kane Lukaku Abraham

Other move would be Davies > Stones but I want flex for Aguero next week.

Also eyeing up Morata, but Chelsea are not firing, so probably safe this week.

I know Eriksen is the top point scorer but Sterling is on a hot streak, spurs have Liverpool, united and Arsenal in next four, and I have Kane

    Any thoughts?

Personally, I'd ditch Kane and keep Eriksen.

I think, this season, you can match Kane with Morata or Kun.

Eriksen is still top scoring mid. Over a season he's outscored Kane too. Hard to replace that.

      1. #Swish41
        • 15 Years

Thanks, cannot disagree, although Kane is an explosive captain pick, whereas Eriksen isnt

      2. Gommy
        • 16 Years
        8 years, 5 months ago

Madness. You would have a case for Kun getting close to matching Kane but not Morata.

I'm a Chelsea fan and Kane is explosive as they come, takes the most shots out of any other Striker in the league and on Pens.

Eriksen has far too many quiet games to be mentioned in the same breath as Kane.

    Worthy captain than City?

Well I have only Sterling from City so it like this, captain UTD main attacking force vs City's winger ( except if City playing with 4-3-3, then Sterling can do some damage).

    Jesus > Morata for -4

    Risky but a decent move?

I only go Jesus as a placeholder, Morata is had to ignore, especially with Jesus's minutes/starts under threat.

    1. Jarnathan
      • 9 Years

I don't think so - certainly not as a minus 4 and particularly as Aguero is in no position to replace Jesus yet, also City score goals for fun - and Chelsea seem to be struggling without Kante.

Perhaps you can do it tonight after the GW starts if the cost is an issue

Hey guys, planning two defensive upgrades over the next two weeks. Given this weekend's fixtures should I get Otamendi over Jones this week given Ota has two nice games and Jones has two toughies after Hudders?

Could then get Jones after the Chelsea game?
