We delve into the Opta data next, rolling out our usual post-Gameweek members’ article.

Both Merseyside clubs play a part in our assessment, while we also check out the contrasting fortunes from West Ham and Watford’s goal scoring midfielders.

Southampton’s in-form frontman is also among our featured players, as is a certain Man City wide man after a weekend return to the scoresheet.

Evening all, any news on Ward? I'm thinking of a minus 4 to get Masuaku in mainly due to future fixtures and the fact I may struggle to field 11 players. What do we think? Cheers

why pay 1.5m more for appproximately the same return? Azpi has been baps king but Christensen actually scores high in that department too and he is threat at set pieces.

About to confirm my wildcard. Thoughts?

    Speroni - Adrián
    Christensen - Jones - Ogbonna - Zanka - Kenny
Salah - Sterling - Coutinho - Pogba - De Bruyne
    Kane - Austin - Depoitre

Would get at least one of Hazard/Morata. Prefer DCL over Depoitre, he's nailed.

Don't really trust Chelsea and having either of them would mean I have to compromise too much elsewhere. Depoitre I think will start and has great rotation with Austin. Not completely convinced by DCL, plus he's 0.2 more and I have zero itb.

the pattern lately is that Depoitre starts the away games because of his better hold-up play and Mounie the home games for his greater goal threat.

Mounie a Wagner favourite so don't be surprised to see him start Boxing Day even if Depoitre scores this weekend

If you don't like Haz/Morata, at least get Alonso as he can contribute both defensively and offensively

in real life Jones, fpl wise i would prob go for Smalling as he is not so injury prone and while he does well when Jones plays he actually plays when jones is injured (again, soon). Jones not in the box at set pieces, Smalling is.

Jones is class and a proper defender, Smalling is pretty average imo, not better than Lovren for example. Looks better when he plays alongside Jones and Matic in front, but that tells me more about Jones and Matic strenghts and not Smallings.

    Pickford Fabianski
    Otamendi Maguire Ward* Duffy* Mariappa
    Hazard Salah Sterling Gross Cork
    Kane Morata DCL

    2FT, £0.1 in the bank

Improving my defence is my priority right now, and with Ward looking to drop tonight and lower his SV I'm looking to swap him for either:

    A - Ogbonna
    B - Masuaku

This would enable a second transfer (which I have more time to decide before the Friday deadline) of Maguire to a max. £5.7m defender, so who would be better out of:

    1 - Jones
    2 - Smalling
    3 - Christiensen

What would you pick? I'm thinking A1 at the moment...

No. At 8.3, his selling price would still be 8.2. When he falls back to 8.2, his selling price (for you) will still be 8.2.

If he falls to anything below the price you bought him at, that's a straight 0.1 loss each time.

I was all set to take a -8 and bring in KDB for Kane but think it's best to stick after sleeping on it!
    1. The yc situation with Kane/Morata
    2. Weakened Burnely defence might be a bit more vunerable than before.
    3. A much as I want to sell Kane & get in KDB for the BOU game there's not good enough striker options to justify a -8.
    4. My 2FTs have already strengthened my team significantly.

    Fabianski
    Alonso / Otamendi / Masuku
    Salah / Pogba / Sane / Richarlison / RLC
    Kane / Morata
    (Nor, Ward, Niasse, Duffy*)
2FT made - Alli + Daniels to Pogba + Otamendi
    0.0

What would you do guys, stick or twist, appreciate your thoughts?
    A. Save
    B. Kane + RLC to KDB + Austin (poor upcoming fix)
    C. Kane + RLC to KDB + Depoitre (punty as it gets)
    D. Kane + RLC to Sterling + Firmino (unsure about the Firmino option if I'm honest)

I had to lose Ramsey so did KDB in for him with a Kane>Rooney to fund it. Form & the blank swayed me. It feels good. Chelsea play Stoke at home over Kane's blank gw, that went some way in keeping Morata.
Of your options, I like D to be honest.

Yeah, would prefer to keep Morata and sell Kane! I would be pissed if I took the -8 and Morata got booked the weekend though, so will wait til next week I think! GL

he can be but he is also nice to own, because he could score vs anyone so you need not to worry about fixtures which you could be temptated to if you own a cheapo in a lesser team.

Dunno tbh. In the same boat. Would rather keep Silva and get Sterling for -4 (for Choupo) if I knew Silva was good to play. Don’t look good though. Maybe he’ll be given Christmas off?

Agreed but 2 would be better. It’s easy for me though as I have Choupo, who’s been dropped. I think Silva Just survived the drop btw, which is handy

Someone talk some sense into me, i have no city mid or fwd, no clear captain option this week.

    A.) Kane > Aguero (C) for a -4
    B.) Haz > KDB (C) for a -4
C.) Save and hide behind the couch while city play

surely you can bring Sterling in

keep Hazard and Aguero is sharing a position with Jesus so not much good long-term

-4 is a bit steep but decision also depends on who you´ll captain? I think Haz vs Everton is a good captaincy option. Everton have gotten results lately but they have not played well... I would have captained Haz and also been confident about it but i see the temptation. Normally i would say wait but then again, if it involves captain choice and it is a long term move which you also save some money, maybe it could be worth it but be prepared that it could lead to points loss this week. City could smash Bournemouth with four or five goals and de Bruyne gets nothing and Chelsea could play 1-1 and Haz gets 10 points.

Does Pogba score more goals than any of those in the list? There's at least 4 better players in that list than Pogba.

    Courtois Speroni
    Jones Christensen Kenny Mee* Hun
    Salah Richarlison Silva* Sterling RLC*
    Kane Morata DCL

    3.6 ITB 1 FT

    Was thinking about only

    A. RLC to Pogba

But with Silva situation might need to do below for -8

    B. RLC to Pogba
    Silva to Sane
    Mee to Ogbonna

    Please suggest
