Both Merseyside clubs play a part in our assessment, while we also check out the contrasting fortunes from West Ham and Watford’s goal scoring midfielders.

Southampton’s in-form frontman is also among our featured players, as is a certain Man City wide man after a weekend return to the scoresheet.

    (1) Gross to Sterling (free)
    (2) Kane + Carroll to Aguero + Sterling (-4)
I like (2) a lot but it's only good for this GW. Aguero won't start all the games. Thoughts?

TC Kane for sure. It's the perfect opportunity. FH Chip will be so much more valuable later.

I actually can't believe anyone isn't thinking of what the FHC could do in a blank or double GW. It could be huge. By then your squad will be at it's highest TV and you will able to get 11 nailed on starters from top teams with good fixtures playing two games! Season defining GW potentially. So much better than getting a few extra Spurs and Hammers.

Cheers folks, some food for thought here, my intention of playing a chip was to try and break my opponents hearts and give me an even bigger cushion.

Kteam I think I might save FHC on your advice, .... I'm thinking my rivals will likely TC Kane that week so I'll probably go with that option myself.

Yeah any week it's a bit like the previous chip a lottery where it can help or hinder

But on the specific question of using it and another chip in the dgw is not possible?

I honestly don't think it's a lottery at all unless you're using it now and hoping for the best. If you use it in a DGW or BGW it's not a lottery - you will literally have a WAY better team (not just theoretically) because you will have 11 players with 2 games each (huge!) or 11 players taking the field when other managers have 4 or 5. It's just about a guaranteed big result either way.

Using FHC now is a bit meh. I mean sure you might make a few extra points to cover one or two injuries, or do well from Spurs in GW22, but you will regret it when you see what people are doing in a BGW or DGW.

Sorry when I said a lottery any week I meant any normal non blank week or dgw.
For those weeks it's brilliant and using it in a normal week seems not the way to go.

Yeah exactly. This is why I'm so confused that some managers are seeing one or two of their payers with flags and panicking into using the FHC. I think when the blanks and doubles roll around, all the managers who used it will suddenly realise just how crazy that decision was for the 'lottery' we both agree it is using on any normal week.

Yes, but there are more than one DGW. So for example TC Kane early on and there will still be a couple of DGWs next year to use BB and FHC. Don't waste chips on non DGWs is my advice.

    2. MINUS FOUR

Not necessarily. FHC will be very handy in a blank GW, for sure.

However, on the flipside what if you use your TC in GW22 on Kane and there are 2 double GW later in the year? Then you could Wildcard the week before the first DGW and play your Bench Boost in the DGW, and use your FHC in the 2nd DGW.

Imagine the possibilities of that DGW free hit with all the funds you've been building up in your TV. You will have a seriously good, nailed on starting 11 with double fixtures. In theory it might be so good that it's worth letting the blank GW slide by and doing your best to cover it.

        Excellent points
I still think the blanks and dgw come thick and fast later in the year.
I see the FH for a blank.
And the WC to set up one dgw
But there will probably be at least 2 more dgws and blanks so some planning without these chips will still be required for one or 2 dgws. Planning the best way to use these takes a lot of time but worth it for the OR hike.

Originally I thought FHC would surely be best for the blank. But the more I consider it, the more I'm changing my mind.

You want to use for a GW with the highest potential points ceiling, right? One where if it goes well you rake in huge points (100+ but even 150+ should be the goal).

Will you achieve that in a blank with a collection of bits and pieces from non top teams? You'll put a good team out, but will it be explosive? Or will it be a team of Gross, Rooney, Lanzini types and just do okay?

Then if you free hit in a DGW you could potentially have the likes of Sterling, Salah, Kane, Hazard, KDB, Coutinho, Morata, Pogba etc playing 2 matches. Your entire team will be explosive. The sky is the limit.

I see your point but I have got the 180 haul with just good planning and you are taking away the TC or BB option for the same week.

Also you got to factor in that any saved transfers will be lost when using the FH

So a scenario where a blank is quickly followed by a dgw.
Build up two transfers for the team you like for the dgw.
Then FH the blank. And hey presto ready for the dgw.
That the beauty of this chip it takes away the amount of hits required when changing quickly between blanks and dgws.

Yes also good points. That would be a wise move. I think it's pretty 50-50 to be honest, and will come down to how my team looks when I know the fixtures. All I know for sure is, I'm very happy not to have blown it already to make 10-20 points if lucky.

My feeling so far is that people are perhaps taking an overly conservative view of the new chip. I've seen teams that are fine playing it just to fix some minor issues that week, then going back to what they had and being unhappy with it. I really feel the FHC is the best one by a long way, and needs to be used quite strategically when the season gets crazy and the fixtures are all over the place.

Thanks for replies. What I had not considered and what you have pointed out is this.
Using TC on Kane in 22 opens up the possibility of using the FH in one of two future dgws rather than only seeing it as useful for a blank.
Still think it's for a blank though 🙂

No worries. I think it's another reason to TC Kane in GW22 for sure. It opens up the possibility at least.

What if you get to the blank and realise you can manage your team quite well and get by? If you can play 7-8 players it might be fine to save it. And you won't be locked into TC in a DGW because we already have one and we've already played the TC chip!

Also feel that team's TV plays a role here. You will have the most value to spend the further the season progresses, so in theory you will get more for your money on any chip later on.

With a blank GW, I doubt we will even be able to spend our budget. There won't be enough heavy hitters to buy. Is that the best way to use our big budget? Not convinced. But even so, I may end up using it in the blank GW too haha.

Definitely not suggesting you can't score well with it by using it early on. Clearly you did, which is awesome. But I would suggest there was an element of luck in how you played it. You were playing the fixtures and it worked, but what if your key targets just hadn't scored that particular match? I've seen FH teams that scored LESS than their original team - that's the risk, and an unnecessary one surely.

If you play it in a blank or double, the team won't just be potentially better, it will be 100% ridiculously better.

Not saying it will happen to me (won't be that lucky), but I think there will be teams who score 100+ points higher with the FHC this season. Getting a whole team filled with the game's most explosive, all playing 2 games, and a captain with 2 games ... there is a chance 50 points won't look as amazing as it does now.

Any crypto heads about? Ripple XRP.... just bought 5000 coins..... how much you recon a coin will be worth in 2020?

Quite well-versed in crypto. It’s tough to call it anything more than a bubble. However, bubbles should not turn you away, as it’s some of the easiest money you’ll ever make. Don’t get greedy, be aware of the climate and take your money out when you feel you’ve made enough. XPR is a great currency and perhaps the strongest “alt-coin” along with LTC.

As a rule of thumb and for all intensive purposes, consider is gambling. Don’t invest more than you can afford to lose.

It’s a great way to be part of an exciting technology, and nobody can say for sure what’s going to stand the test of time; it could be the crypto itself, the blockchain technology or the companies themselves that benefit the most from this craze.

Now I am thinking I should have used my wildcard as after 30 dec It will expire

SSis right just hit the WC button and the hits are undone.
Surely this is the option. And you can make any other moves you want for free. Dont see why you would not do this.

What are people with Jesus doing? Cant upgrade without a hit and have no appealing forwards below his price tag. Have Rooney and Firmino.

Can’t get behind him especially as Carroll may well be coming back and Sakho is also an option for them, he’ll likely only get one of those games. West hams value is in their mids imo.

    Pope
    Christensen Jones Smalling Ogbonna
    Hazard Salah Coutinho RLC
    Aguero(c) Kane(v)

    (Elliot Carroll DCL Daniels)

    1. G2G (0FT 0.0ITB)
    2. Kane Carroll > 8.6 Sterling (-8)
    3. Kane RLC Carroll > Quaner Sterling Sané (-12)

    Essentially 2, 1.5 or 1 Premium Fwds?
If keeping Kane I'd be looking to switch to Morata GW21 (STK), then back for DGW.
If losing Kane, I'd plan to Sané Kun > Son Kane for DGW, and just sticking with 1 heavy up top.

Taking my first 8 point hit .
An unexpected ( fluky) score of 92 this week gives me a chance to invest .
    Kane chopo kilasinic out
    Aguero sterling ogbonna in
Two of them don't play and ogbonna future double .
Surely this is right thing to do

Kun could be I say could be a good option this week - wait on news but what about other weeks when rotation is more of a possibility - news this week is that he has been carrying a heel injury for months.
But overall if taking a -8 they look decent moves. Although you don't have to throw away the points you got last week 🙂

As donations who bought Silva over Sterling last week, it's either Salah or Otamendi... might as well go Salah.

Prediction: after HOF1 ranked Jay Egersdoff took a cheeky -12 last week, a large following on FFS will happily take large hits to shake up their team and get Kane out.

    Kane scores a hattie 😉

I hope 🙁 as I'm too busy getting rid of other players to touch him.
