We delve into the Opta data next, rolling out our usual post-Gameweek members’ article.

Both Merseyside clubs play a part in our assessment, while we also check out the contrasting fortunes from West Ham and Watford’s goal scoring midfielders.

Southampton’s in-form frontman is also among our featured players, as is a certain Man City wide man after a weekend return to the scoresheet.

Who is most viable in delivering points over next 3 GWs:

    Richarlison
    Shaqiri
    RLC

Wary that Richarlison is now marked by opposition as hot player...may see his returns drop

    Sterling,Salah, Rich,Gross, Caroll

    Aguero, Kane Firmino

    0 its, 2fts,

Patience is running out with Jesus in my team. What is the best thing to do? 1FT, 0itb.

    A) Wait and see this GW. Make the transfer with 2FT next GW
    B) Jesus>Austin/Chicarito? then upgrade mid next gw.
    C) Jesus+Surman> Chica/Austin+Pogba (-4)
    D) Jesus> playing cheaper striker and power pack the midfield for 3-5-2.

Hi guys, is my team GTG for festive season?
    Adrian
    Jones Otamendi Christensen
    Salah Sterling Hazard Coutinho Richarlison
    Kane Firmino
    Bench: 3.9GK, Ogbonna, Mariappa, Quaner
    No FTs and 0.0 ITB

Feel settled with mids and attack.
Will probably get a GK for GW21 and Vertonghen+Eriksen/Son for GW22.

But Cout is on fire man ! Was settled earlier with Cout and Salah, just added Firmino because couldn't see any better FWD option in that bracket. If someone has to go though, Shouldn't it be Bobby?

Agree somewhat. But basically I had two options:
        1) Richarlison+Firmino
        2) DCL+Silva/Sane
Went with the 1st one..as DCL has 3 tough fixtures in next 5 and he may be sharing minutes with Niasse. While Firmino has lots of good fixtures after Arsenal.
        Hope it turns out well..

    A) kane & pogba +4 points

    B) sterling , Aguero C (Aguero to lukaku next week)

Then get kane back for his double.

I want to start a Pogba vs. Hazard debate.

Is the only difference between these 2 this season their price?

Both seem capable of explosive scores whilst also frustrating with blanks.

I'm trying to talk myself out of a Hazard to Pogba move for gw 20 which will allow essential upgrades in defence, however I'm struggling to justify the current extra funds tied up in Hazard over the much cheaper Pogba.

Is my comparison filled with holes?

With 2 cheap strikers and Kane, you can basically have the midfield of your choice. Makes life easy as that's where all the value and excitement is.

I've got Hazard, Pogba, Salah, Coutinho, Sterling. So many point in there when they fire. Of course the sacrifice is the forward line, but I don't want Morata, Lukaku or City strikers anyway.

Try and get both if you can, they are both key for their teams and will both have more spurts of form than blanks.

        8 years, 2 months ago

Both would be nice but with so many good options in midfield now I'm struggling to see Hazard as being good value. Especially when you compare having say Hazard + Mee or potentially Pogba + Alonso. That's the example using my own conundrum.

        1. Freddo
          • 8 Years

I agree about Hazard, we all got sucked in again but we can't forget the reasons we were drawn to him in the first place.

Tbh I would rather pogba plus the money over hazard but even though I would rather that pogba I hadn't made the move hazard to pogba and I have 2FT with the main reason I want to keep hazard and bring pogba in for richarlison but I can't afford that

Yeah I think I'm leaning towards the Pogba to Hazard move in gw20.

The extra funds can give me:

Pogba, Jones/Smalling and DDG; or Pogba, Alonso and Adrian

        Vs.

        Hazard, Mee, Elliott.

I think the case against Hazard looks strong in the long run.

No one worried Sterling could be benched vs Bournemouth?

Easy fixture for them so may rest a few ie Aguero (heel injury hes been playing with) and Sterling? Rely on Jesus and Sane?

He wasn't even on the bench last night so no.

already rested for Cup game.. why to rest again?

BSilva & Jesus played already.. so Sane Aguero Sterling to start against BOU..

Sterling started last 8 games.. anyone could be rested..

Pep may want to wrap the title by Feb and concentrate on UEFA CL.. see a lot of rotation from Feb

I think the last time everyone was considering captaining Sterling was in GW9 when City had Burnley at home. Sterling was coming off a haul bs Stoke and a midweek rest... he played zero minutes!

I’ve been an owner for a while and very happy with his returns but I’m not comfortable captaining him. That’s just me though, I can understand the temptation.

He WAS rotated but Pep seems to have a lot more trust in him now since he's been banging in the goals. He's been as nailed as you can get in this City team recently.

Easiest fixture of the whole GW, Sterling in form and rested last night. What's not to like? Will do for me...

Only dodgy thing about Sterling is he takes on the curse of the most transferred in player, other than that, there's nothing to dislike about giving him the C.

I'm not going to over think it, doing that has cost me in the past. He's the only Man City player I have fpr now so he can wear the armband and we'll see what happens. I'm not expecting a hat trick but I'd be happy enough with a goal.

Moreno owners if you have stuck around for so long, are you tempted to stay a few more weeks for a January recovery?

I don't know what to do with Jesus, I stick with him till gameweek 1.
Now I'm considering other options, like

    A) Firmino - not my favourite, there are better players in Pool
    B) Rooney - not so reliable
    C) other cheapy like Calvert-Lewin or Depoitre and upgrade the midfield

A lot of articles have gone missing. Say what. Market forces. Suspension tightrope would be very handy at the moment. Maybe it's because the games are coming so quickly.

Last midfield slot. Would like to remain Kane as differential and hope he pay my faith in him with a hattrick. 🙂

    Salah - Sterling - RLC - Hazard - XXX
    Quaner - DLC - Kane

    a. Sane --> ITB 1.9
    b. Pogba --> ITB 2.6

Let's be honest guys, we were rarely going to play Daniels Vs Man City even if he was fit

75% likely to play which times well for the blue fixtures. Price far from dropping either.

I have other more pressing fires!

Thoughts on Kane & Choupo > KDB and Rooney?

Or is it worth keeping Kane for now?

Would leave me with a midfield and front line of:
    Coutinho Salah Sterling KDB Haz
    Rooney Calvert-Lewin Abraham
