Much like the broader picture of his career at Stamford Bridge, Willian’s 2017/18 FPL campaign has been something of a tumultuous one.

Heavily touted in the pre-season as an underpriced route into the Chelsea attack (after an Eden Hazard injury opening up space within the Chelsea XI), the Brazilian’s early returns proved bitterly underwhelming: no goals and a solitary assist over the opening eight Gameweeks served as disappointing returns for a player of his calibre.

A spell on the sidelines followed, with Willian most frequently utilised as an impact substitute towards the end of matches.

The winds of change, however, seem once again to be blowing in Southwest London.

Willian, who had started just one of Chelsea’s previous eight fixtures, returned to the lineup in Gameweek 17 and has since proved a revelation.

From this date, he has returned three goals and five assists over eight Gameweeks, alongside a heady seven bonus points. In so doing, the winger has also begun his return to fantasy prominence – acquiring over 100,000 new owners during this span.

Do the underlying numbers support the idea of a Brazilian resurgence? And how do Willian’s numbers compare to other mid-priced competitors? With popular mid-priced picks now falling by the wayside, could Willian yet prove to be a powerful Fantasy differential?

I'd like to see the real juicy talking points tackled by these articles. The substance of these technical articles are first rate, they just need to zero in on the big issues, such as Kane Vs Aguero, who wins? Or who do the stats say is the best captain choice out of Kane and Salah for the rest of the season?

How can anyone be a fan of this? Fans won't even bother celebrating goals before long because they'll have to sit around for 5 minutes for it to be legitimised anyway.

Should be like tennis where managers get 2 challenges per game or something. Even better, scrap it and let controversy reign!

I think it puts pressure on players. Livermore got found out in that Salah foul - why is he pulling Salah back. Hopefully will start to eradicate dirty defending.

As I said, now all it needs is a diver to get booked or sent off via a VAR decision. That would be beautiful.

Agree - though this is a fluid sport with so many fewer stoppages than others, the reality is that the vast majority of fans are watching on TV. 3 extra minutes of VAR waiting would replace 30+ minutes of feeling an injustice has been done.

VAR is good if you get the right decision within a minute.

Since, it is supposed to be for clear and obvious errors, it shouldn't take professional refs more than 30 seconds to make a decision. If they can't make a decision within that time, the on-field call should stand.

3-4 minutes for that pen call is absolutely ridiculous.

I do think the key is making it faster and putting it on the screens like rugby league. That way the review is part of the game. They are currently making it all mystical and 'decided by a man 200 MILES AWAY'. At the end of the day, it takes the guesswork out and probably ends up killing off diving and 'robust' defending. Which are otherwise known as cheating.

'Bought' or something by Man City from New York City. 2 teams with the same owners. A way for Mix to get out of his contract with MLS. He has been on loan here in Sweden(IFK Gothenburg) last 6 months at least, City, Gothenburg and Mix will have talks tomorrow about future.
Players not owned by teams any longer, owned by corporations that holds many teams. Like Watford, Udine and some team in Spain has same owner.
