Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang emerged from a lacklustre first-half Arsenal performance to plunder a brace of goals and reward his wave of recent investors.

Arsenal ran out 3-0 winners over Stoke City on Sunday, a flattering scoreline after a woeful showing in the first period.

Aubameyang had struggled to feature in that opening spell but sprung to life in the second-half.

Having earlier been denied by a Jack Butland save from a one-on-one, he converted a first Arsenal penalty before firing home from a cleared Mesut Ozil corner.

Along with maximum bonus points, that rewarded his new owners with a 13-point return, his biggest haul so far since arriving in the Premier League.

It could have been even better, with the striker allowing Alexandre Lacazette the responsibility to convert Arsenal’s second penalty for their third goal. Aubameyang explained post-match why he surrendered duties to his team-mate, even though that decision denied him his first Arsenal hat-trick…

“I know that Laca is back and I’d scored twice, so I wanted to let him score. It’s normal. I think it’s good for his confidence, and that’s why.”

Over 362,000 managers swooped for Aubameyang ahead of Gameweek 32, identifying the encounter with Stoke, along with the Emirates Stadium clash with Southampton to follow, as ideal opportunities to profit.

Some 195,000+ – just 27.6% of his total ownership – also handed the Gabon international their captaincy.

With the top two armband selections – Mohamed Salah (34.4%) and Romelu Lukaku (13.4%) – producing seven and eight points respectively, Aubameyang’s backers will be delighted with the outcome.

Cup-tied for Thursday’s Europa League tie with CSKA Moscow, the striker will now get another opportunity to maintain a run of four goals in three Gameweeks when he faces the ailing Southampton defence on Sunday. We may even see more of his owners trust him with the captaincy for that encounter.

While Aubameyang will be protected from rotation in Gameweek 33, Arsene Wenger’s line-up will likely remain difficult to predict.

Today’s tweaks from the Arsenal boss involved both Laurent Koscielny and Henrikh Mkhitaryan dropping to the bench in preparation for Thursday’s tie. Aaron Ramsey returned from injury to earn a start alongside the recalled Jack Wilshere as part of Wenger’s changes.

The teamsheet for Thursday’s tie, along with the minutes played and the outcome, will now all be key to anticipating changes for next Sunday’s meeting with the Saints.

Arguably, Mkhitaryan should be well placed for a start. The 99,000+ who brought him in for Gameweek 32 will hoping that this proves to be the case, though some may look to avoid that risk by shipping him ahead of next weekend’s deadline.

Mustafi delivers

In defence, a second successive clean sheet helped Shkodran Mustafi earn two bonus points to produce an eight-point return to follow on from his 12 against Watford.

Some 50,000 new owners will be content with that, though some argued that the German could have earned an assist for Aubameyang’s second goal.

It was deemed that Mustafi failed to get a touch on Ozil’s crossed corner, though regardless, the clearance from Erik Pieters appeared to significantly alter the path of the ball before Aubameyang converted from ten yards out.

It was Nacho Monreal who went into Sunday’s contest as the most popular Gunners defender. He claimed 72,000+ new managers to return his first clean sheet since Gameweek 18. The Spaniard has, however, been limited to just six starts over that run.

Mustafi will likely continue to offer the most secure route into Wenger’s backline. The injury concerns surrounding both Monreal and Koscielny are set to continue to make them candidates for rest while the European campaign continues.

Petr Cech is another currently nursing an injury problem; he missed out on Sunday due to a “sore groin” and will likely be “short” for Thursday’s tie according to Wenger.

Butland excels

Despite the 3-0 margin, Stoke City’s Jack Butland was again their standout performer.

He made eight saves, his second highest tally of the season, to register another two save points.

Incredibly, Butland has now collected save points in 14 of his last 15 Gameweek matches, producing 23 points from stops in total.

Elsewhere for Stoke, there remains little to tempt Fantasy interest.

Paul Lambert’s side are without a Double Gameweek and have testing fixtures over the next four (TOT whu BUR liv).

Indeed, the 11.0% owned Xherdan Shaqiri has already soared to rank third for sales ahead of Gameweek 33.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Team is

    DDG /Hennessy
    Azpi, Morgan, ward,Duffy, mariappa
    Salah,sterling,son, mahrez,Kennedy
    Auba,lukaku, Barnes

Currently on WC , and I have a few issues

    A) kane 's arrival makes the WC difficult so
Should I get kane+Willian on WC ,then auba to kaku for GW34??

    B) Chelsea defence situation, I have azpi but for his price the CS potential looks down for Chelsea ,so is it ok to hold on to Chelsea defence or get others like mustafi or Davies

    Please,any help appreciated .Thanks

      A) Hard to go without Kane on WC this week
      B) Why azpi? Surely Alonso for a bit more or Christensen and save cash is the way to go

Also, Sterling doesn't have a DGW in 34.
Mariappa just in there for price?
      Prefer Lowton over Ward.

Alonso 0.1 m away..maybe catch some price rise before deadline, also Christensen I don't think will play both games ..that's why azpi.

Yes ,I'm thinking of sterling to someone for DGW,after that if rotation hits city then not bringing back.

Mariappa for the price only, and will Lowton starts both games??..ward has better chances imo
        Thanks

Willian for Sterling and you can easily get Alonso... although sounds like you're only going to go for totally nailed players for 2 doubles

    Ryan / Young Duffy Lowton
    *Auba to Lukaku for 34

Had to sacrifice Alonso for Christensen due to Kane.

Young gets in good attacking positions, on lots of set pieces. He's in there as a 5th mid just for Bench Boost in gw34

You need Kane from 36 at least. So has to be Verto.
Rose will want to play for his WC spot,Bavies not nailed. And no point looking at United CB with all five fit now.

    G'day all,

Still have my Wildcard, TC, BB and FH chips. Have just taken a -4 hit to go Daniels and Firmino to Chilwell and Kane.

Looking for advice as to moves to make or whether to save wildcard for another time? Plan was to wildcard this week, BB 34, FH 35 and TC 37, but now tempted to leave team as is and WC for last few rounds...

    Current lineup:

    De Gea (Karius)
    Smalling, Baines, Femenia (Chilwell, Naughton)
    Salah, Sterling, Mkhi, Mili (Kenedy)
    Aubameyang, Kane, Vardy
    0.9 ITB
    88,075 overall rank

Eyeing off Tarkowski, Christensen, Lingard and Willian.
If I wildcard now I'm keen to do Naughton, Mkhi, Sterling to Christensen, Lingard and Willian. Should I do Vardy to Lukaku too for the Big 3? Or use the 3.0 elsewhere?

    Appreciate your input.

Can you field 11 decent players in GW 35 without WC and too many hits???
      If yes,then FH 34,WC 36 is a decent option.
If not,WC now and FH in 35

I'm nervous. Rival in cash league is 13pts behind with WC left. I think he will keep Lukaku and get rid of Firmino. I would need to take -8 probably and get rid of Firmino and 3.1m which would mean downgrading 2 from Alonso Mane Sterling

Lukaku out to Auba before getting Lukaku back in on my free hit?

It's probably gonna reduce my transfer kitty by 0.2 for the DGW.

Rival in H2H this week (in a very tight ML) has Auba but otherwise a very weak team, so I'm leaning towards the transfer just to play it safe, even though I think I can beat him witout any Arsenal cover.

I would appreciate any feedbackon this lot please.
Planning bench boost in 34, free hit 35, and tc in 37.
    de Gea, Lloris.
    Alonso, Lowton, Morgan, Stephens, Dunk.
Salah, Sanchez, Willian, Lingard, 4.5 (at the moment Cork).
    Kane, Vardy, Austin. +0.3£
Defense is a bit iffy, but all dgw's and most of the team will get both dgw's.
Sanchez over Lukaku as I'm 2nd in minileague and he has Lukaku.
    Any thoughts please

Get a cheaper GK for Lloris/DDG? Both will be utilised only once and then you have benching dilemma in GW37.

You can do something like Lloris, Dunk, Alonso to Ryan, Vertonghen, Mustafi/Christensen

Attack looks fine, prefer Arnautovic/Milivojevic over Willian

Alonso unlucky not to get a brace vs Spurs.
One just offside, the other a fine low save.
If he socred even one of those he'd be in most wildcard conversations.

What's the feeling on 32 versus 33 WCs now?

Probably not been great for 32 WCers but 33 WCers probably going much the same way, some players may cost a bit more but more info on Kane etc I suppose.

I think Vardy will be the casualty in my team for Kane. He's been scoring and I think he could continue, but his ceiling is so low. Reflects his price which is fair.

Arsenal fixtures ok for singles in 34 and the probable 37 but really worth keeping Auba over Vardy's 2 doubles - bit more cash to splash too.

Oh sorry I didn't read it properly at all. I will have Kane+Lukaku for 34 I believe, then Lukaku to Auba in 34.
3rd spot is reserved for Wood/Barnes

I planned to get Kane in from 34 onwards, which I will. Means no Lukaku in 36/37. Playing my FH in 34 so will have Kane and Lukaku in 34.

How come Hazard doesnt get critisized or get the stick that Alli get from the media.

Despite having o called poor season Alli still has 8 goals and 12 assists which is much better than 11 goals and 5 assists by Hazard

I agree he should probably be criticized more, or maybe just others should be criticized less.
You can blame it partly on Chelsea playing poor so often, but for me he needs to do much more to carry the team as it's talisman.

Can’t see Spurs losing 3 games. Maybe just the one against City?

Maybe not worth getting any Chelsea players for GW33 WCers.

Spurs play Brighton on Tuesday and Chelsea play Burnley on Thursday.

I am going to throw this out there.
Could a 34 with Kane Lukaku and Vardy be worth no Salah.
Liverpool progression in CL might make this a more attractive proposition or stop being silly - just no.

Sorry not giving full details here. I have neither Kane or Lukaku yet. So one of those in in 34 is what it comes down to for free
Or get both for a hit in 34 and Salah to absolute fodder.

Probably have to go without. With the amount I would lose probably could not afford to get back and the team balance would just get worse and worse. Not going to do this now why not back Salah over Lukaku even with 2 games versus 4.

Spurs double up (Son and Kane) makes more sense that Liecester (Mahrez and Vardy) double up, I guess.
Gotta find a way to do Vardy to Kane then...
