Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang emerged from a lacklustre first-half Arsenal performance to plunder a brace of goals and reward his wave of recent investors.

Arsenal ran out 3-0 winners over Stoke City on Sunday, a flattering scoreline after a woeful showing in the first period.

Aubameyang had struggled to feature in that opening spell but sprung to life in the second-half.

Having earlier been denied by a Jack Butland save from a one-on-one, he converted a first Arsenal penalty before firing home from a cleared Mesut Ozil corner.

Along with maximum bonus points, that rewarded his new owners with a 13-point return, his biggest haul so far since arriving in the Premier League.

It could have been even better, with the striker allowing Alexandre Lacazette the responsibility to convert Arsenal’s second penalty for their third goal. Aubameyang explained post-match why he surrendered duties to his team-mate, even though that decision denied him his first Arsenal hat-trick…

“I know that Laca is back and I’d scored twice, so I wanted to let him score. It’s normal. I think it’s good for his confidence, and that’s why.”

Over 362,000 managers swooped for Aubameyang ahead of Gameweek 32, identifying the encounter with Stoke, along with the Emirates Stadium clash with Southampton to follow, as ideal opportunities to profit.

Some 195,000+ – just 27.6% of his total ownership – also handed the Gabon international their captaincy.

With the top two armband selections – Mohamed Salah (34.4%) and Romelu Lukaku (13.4%) – producing seven and eight points respectively, Aubameyang’s backers will be delighted with the outcome.

Cup-tied for Thursday’s Europa League tie with CSKA Moscow, the striker will now get another opportunity to maintain a run of four goals in three Gameweeks when he faces the ailing Southampton defence on Sunday. We may even see more of his owners trust him with the captaincy for that encounter.

While Aubameyang will be protected from rotation in Gameweek 33, Arsene Wenger’s line-up will likely remain difficult to predict.

Today’s tweaks from the Arsenal boss involved both Laurent Koscielny and Henrikh Mkhitaryan dropping to the bench in preparation for Thursday’s tie. Aaron Ramsey returned from injury to earn a start alongside the recalled Jack Wilshere as part of Wenger’s changes.

The teamsheet for Thursday’s tie, along with the minutes played and the outcome, will now all be key to anticipating changes for next Sunday’s meeting with the Saints.

Arguably, Mkhitaryan should be well placed for a start. The 99,000+ who brought him in for Gameweek 32 will hoping that this proves to be the case, though some may look to avoid that risk by shipping him ahead of next weekend’s deadline.

Mustafi delivers

In defence, a second successive clean sheet helped Shkodran Mustafi earn two bonus points to produce an eight-point return to follow on from his 12 against Watford.

Some 50,000 new owners will be content with that, though some argued that the German could have earned an assist for Aubameyang’s second goal.

It was deemed that Mustafi failed to get a touch on Ozil’s crossed corner, though regardless, the clearance from Erik Pieters appeared to significantly alter the path of the ball before Aubameyang converted from ten yards out.

It was Nacho Monreal who went into Sunday’s contest as the most popular Gunners defender. He claimed 72,000+ new managers to return his first clean sheet since Gameweek 18. The Spaniard has, however, been limited to just six starts over that run.

Mustafi will likely continue to offer the most secure route into Wenger’s backline. The injury concerns surrounding both Monreal and Koscielny are set to continue to make them candidates for rest while the European campaign continues.

Petr Cech is another currently nursing an injury problem; he missed out on Sunday due to a “sore groin” and will likely be “short” for Thursday’s tie according to Wenger.

Butland excels

Despite the 3-0 margin, Stoke City’s Jack Butland was again their standout performer.

He made eight saves, his second highest tally of the season, to register another two save points.

Incredibly, Butland has now collected save points in 14 of his last 15 Gameweek matches, producing 23 points from stops in total.

Elsewhere for Stoke, there remains little to tempt Fantasy interest.

Paul Lambert’s side are without a Double Gameweek and have testing fixtures over the next four (TOT whu BUR liv).

Indeed, the 11.0% owned Xherdan Shaqiri has already soared to rank third for sales ahead of Gameweek 33.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I could really do with another 8 points but fair play to Auba, it was a lovely gesture. Touch of class and selflessness. Not many strikers would've done the same when they're on a hat-trick.

i guess you picked double chelsea defense with this and the double in sight, so why change that now? West Ham are not Spurs and Chelsea still a better side than Southampton. DDg or Ryan is one of my pickles too, i´m on Ryan as we speak but will keep an eye on City´s performance and result against Liverpool. The thing that City can clinch the title is what make me think City will attack this one and i can´t decide wether thats good or not-) Ryan feels like a cleanie

In that same time I have going from 11k to 12k. Teams looking very similar now and it has got a bit boring since the 2nd half of the season.

Just me, or was the 33 vs 32 hot topic yesterday a little premature?
As a GW 32 wildcarder, I think if you had a combination of good SV that could absorb the maybe 1 mil swing in price changes, and a decent team for 32, wildcarding 33 was definitely the right option.
Chelsea look done for this season, and now all the 32 wildcarders (myself included) are rushing to get Spurs assets for sto. Plus, if Lukaku can't score more than one against SWA, he really is probably not worth it.
Of course, several 32 wildcarders went without Lukaku, and maybe only one or no Chelsea players, but several more did not. Thoughts?

Wcing in gw32 epic gain for me. Got 67 pts rose by 2,000 close to top 5,000 gained £.8m in value and have a superb team for gw33 & 34. Have exact funds for auba to Kane in gw34

Thing is, 33 wildcarders will milk the inevitable 4 nil from that TOT sto game. A lot of us have only Son or maybe no mids at all. What is nice, however, is that if they get Auba for 33, they get either Lukaku 34 which is not any optimal use of money, or go Vardy and then take a hit to redistribute money. Eurgh two rangers we can be more efficient.

to soon to know, and it is always down to many components and in the end to ones own teams strategy and structure. I knew that when i wildcarded early there was some risks involved in it and Chelsea out and Kane back was one of them. But it also gained me about 30 points if i had stayed loyal to my gw31 team. and we don´t know the future so who knows how the Lukaku/Kane pans out? And if one did the wildcard carefully there´s actually not impossible to get Kane in for 34, perhaps with a hit. And there will still be difficult for wildcarders now to pick players that plays both games in 34, with the league almost wrapped up, it could mean that both Chelsea, United and Spurs will focus even more on the cup semifinal.

As I'm FH34, I have 1 FT ("use it or lose it") to tinker with last week's WC team: BB37.

    Ederson, Fabianski
    Alonso, Mustafi, Lejeune, Dummett, Fernandez
    Salah, Mahrez, Mhiki, Sterling, Kenedy
    Aubameyang, Firmino, Deeney
    0.2 ITB.

Have a full team for 35 and looking to bring Kane in with 2FT in 36.

    So anything need addressing?

Something like Alonso to Vert or Deeney to Ayew would put cash in the bank that could assist the Kane switch.

    Thanks

Hi there - pretty decent, and you?

Star of the show was Lejeune with a 9 pointer. Benched Kenedy (6) and Dummett (6) though.

Captained Salah over Auba - but overall can't grumble with a steady 64 points and no major disruption to my plans.

Same. 69 Points. Benched Kenedy and Dummett. Mkhi was annoying.

Thinking of using my 1FT to do either:
          A. Mahrez > Alli (no Spurs, have Vardy)
          B. Mkhi > Willian
          C. Sane > Sterling

          Thoughts?

            Nice.

Whilst Mhiki benching was annoying, I'm still persisting for 33 and 35. By then we'll know when Arsenal stand and whether he is the one who is sacrificed for Kane

C seems too sideways to me.

A is interesting - especially when you consider how disinterested Mahrez seemed on the weekend. Would certainly be a differential.

For those planning to BB in 34 and FH in 35, if City win the title at the w/e and beat LIV in the CL, does this change your plans?

In this scenario I'd expect considerable rotation in the league, so MCY assets lose their appeal in a 35 FH. Which only leaves Arsenal (focus will be on EL) and Liverpool of the bigger teams playing in 35.

Is it worth considering a 37 FH instead?

It’s a fair enough shout but unfortunately for me, I don’t have that option, as I loaded up on DGW34 and (expected) DGW37 Double/Double teams... so FH35 is my only option.

I will consider rotation in this scenario when using my FH Chip however. A player like Bernardo Silva could be a decent punt for example.

Hi all, I'm on wildcard and need your advice...

    Smalling and Alli
    or
    Dummet and Sanchez

And who do you prefer from here on out between Christensen, Mawson and Lowton?

    Rest of team:
    DDG (Karius)
    XXX, Baines, Chilwell (Femenia, XXX)
    Salah, XXX, Lingard, Milivojevic (Kenedy)
    Aubameyang, Kane, Vardy

      Smalling is very risky.

Realised can also go Alonso, Alli, Dummett, leaving the team:

        DDG (Karius)
        Alonso, Baines, Chilwell (Femenia, Dummett)
        Salah, Alli, Lingard, Milivojevic (Kenedy)
        Aubameyang, Kane, Vardy

I’m thinking Son to Alli. With Kane back I’m worried a bit about Sons game time

Too sideways. Can’t see Son being benched for no reason. He gets hauled off at 70-80 and starts every match imo.

Wasn’t a bonanza wildcard but 62 a decent return. Got 1.9m ITB but will save the transfer. Hopefully Kane won’t go mad.

    Hennessey
    Alonso / Lawton / Morgan
    Salah / Mahrez / Son / Willian
    Aubameyang(c) / Barnes / Firmino

Subs: De Gea / Kenedy / Tarkowski / Robertson

Chelsea can't keep a clean sheet to save their lives

Harry Kane came off the bench...he's an easy cash cow to upgrade Auba etc.

His understudy, Emerson, came off the bench to replace him, raising the suggestion of potential rotation

    2. Fresh_From_Desh

Thought he was unlucky not to get an assist or a goal. He had disallowed goal which was marginal in terms of offside. He's a constant threat and is always in the box but unfortunately again from a a fantasy perspective faild to yield points.

In my opinion I think at this point in the season with Chelsea only having the cup he's using precious budget that could be used elsewhere in teams.

      This is my opinion though.

    GW33 WCers

Kane vs no-Kane is the debate

Stoke away is a tasty fixture.

Already WCed. Could jettison Jesus and Willian though.

Perhaps best to FH him in for 34 and spend points getting him for real till end of season if needs be.

    What’s the consensus on here;

    Gw34 move of Auba->

    A) Lukaku
    B) Kane

    Or

    C) Auba->Kane already for gw33 for a -4?

    1. Konig Luther

Auba->Kane already for gw33 for a -4 has everything to work out.

Auba to Lukaku looks best based on fixtures , but i'm not so sure getting rid of Auba is such a good idea since he has a strong fixture in 35 when the other 2 don't play

Wouldn’t be able to afford the Kane-Kaku-Vardy forward line unless I downgraded midfield (like Son, Salah, Willian...)
