Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang emerged from a lacklustre first-half Arsenal performance to plunder a brace of goals and reward his wave of recent investors.

Arsenal ran out 3-0 winners over Stoke City on Sunday, a flattering scoreline after a woeful showing in the first period.

Aubameyang had struggled to feature in that opening spell but sprung to life in the second-half.

Having earlier been denied by a Jack Butland save from a one-on-one, he converted a first Arsenal penalty before firing home from a cleared Mesut Ozil corner.

Along with maximum bonus points, that rewarded his new owners with a 13-point return, his biggest haul so far since arriving in the Premier League.

It could have been even better, with the striker allowing Alexandre Lacazette the responsibility to convert Arsenal’s second penalty for their third goal. Aubameyang explained post-match why he surrendered duties to his team-mate, even though that decision denied him his first Arsenal hat-trick…

“I know that Laca is back and I’d scored twice, so I wanted to let him score. It’s normal. I think it’s good for his confidence, and that’s why.”

Over 362,000 managers swooped for Aubameyang ahead of Gameweek 32, identifying the encounter with Stoke, along with the Emirates Stadium clash with Southampton to follow, as ideal opportunities to profit.

Some 195,000+ – just 27.6% of his total ownership – also handed the Gabon international their captaincy.

With the top two armband selections – Mohamed Salah (34.4%) and Romelu Lukaku (13.4%) – producing seven and eight points respectively, Aubameyang’s backers will be delighted with the outcome.

Cup-tied for Thursday’s Europa League tie with CSKA Moscow, the striker will now get another opportunity to maintain a run of four goals in three Gameweeks when he faces the ailing Southampton defence on Sunday. We may even see more of his owners trust him with the captaincy for that encounter.

While Aubameyang will be protected from rotation in Gameweek 33, Arsene Wenger’s line-up will likely remain difficult to predict.

Today’s tweaks from the Arsenal boss involved both Laurent Koscielny and Henrikh Mkhitaryan dropping to the bench in preparation for Thursday’s tie. Aaron Ramsey returned from injury to earn a start alongside the recalled Jack Wilshere as part of Wenger’s changes.

The teamsheet for Thursday’s tie, along with the minutes played and the outcome, will now all be key to anticipating changes for next Sunday’s meeting with the Saints.

Arguably, Mkhitaryan should be well placed for a start. The 99,000+ who brought him in for Gameweek 32 will hoping that this proves to be the case, though some may look to avoid that risk by shipping him ahead of next weekend’s deadline.

Mustafi delivers

In defence, a second successive clean sheet helped Shkodran Mustafi earn two bonus points to produce an eight-point return to follow on from his 12 against Watford.

Some 50,000 new owners will be content with that, though some argued that the German could have earned an assist for Aubameyang’s second goal.

It was deemed that Mustafi failed to get a touch on Ozil’s crossed corner, though regardless, the clearance from Erik Pieters appeared to significantly alter the path of the ball before Aubameyang converted from ten yards out.

It was Nacho Monreal who went into Sunday’s contest as the most popular Gunners defender. He claimed 72,000+ new managers to return his first clean sheet since Gameweek 18. The Spaniard has, however, been limited to just six starts over that run.

Mustafi will likely continue to offer the most secure route into Wenger’s backline. The injury concerns surrounding both Monreal and Koscielny are set to continue to make them candidates for rest while the European campaign continues.

Petr Cech is another currently nursing an injury problem; he missed out on Sunday due to a “sore groin” and will likely be “short” for Thursday’s tie according to Wenger.

Butland excels

Despite the 3-0 margin, Stoke City’s Jack Butland was again their standout performer.

He made eight saves, his second highest tally of the season, to register another two save points.

Incredibly, Butland has now collected save points in 14 of his last 15 Gameweek matches, producing 23 points from stops in total.

Elsewhere for Stoke, there remains little to tempt Fantasy interest.

Paul Lambert’s side are without a Double Gameweek and have testing fixtures over the next four (TOT whu BUR liv).

Indeed, the 11.0% owned Xherdan Shaqiri has already soared to rank third for sales ahead of Gameweek 33.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Depending on how many players you have in 35 Id go with B.

      Got a question for you.

to get Kane for 34 I have to downgrade Groß,willian or son to A king,5.2m mid, 6.4m mid. Im thinking Son is best and go with Lingard and Kane for Son and Groß. What do you think?

    DDG Ryan

I'd go Kane straight away and swap christensen to a spurs asset.
Gross and Murray is surplus to requirement, I'd downgrade one of them to whatever you deem acceptable.

Oh I’m with you, don’t buy this murray or barnes idea for 34. I think it looks good, lots of nice enablers in defence.

One thing I would be aware of post 34 is getting some money into your midfield. Could end up with lingard and willian benched in the same week on rotation but other than that, very nice.

    Just a thought.....

How many games do players need to play to receive a premier league winners medal?

If city wrap it up next weekend I'm fascinated to see how Pep, and indeed the other managers, play it out in terms of team selections.

Will Pep play the kids to get them a medal for example?

Will he play a style like he did at Everton, send out the big guns, win the game by half time and then play possession football for the second half without going for the jugular?

Makes me think wildcarding now is a better option than 36.

Early thoughts about FH in gw35, it's obvious that 3 players from each of MCI LIV ARS should be in the team.
Having in mind the matches are ARS-WHU, WBA-LIV, MCI-SWA, do you think that the best strategy would be to bet probably exclusively on their attacking players?
I don't expect any of those big 3 to care more about keeping a clean sheet than playing attacking football at that point of the season.

let risk of rotation make all desicions is my best bet.
All 3 clubs might want to rest some of the players who carried the load through 33-europa-34-europa.

Select the players most likely to start, be it defenders or attackers, then fit your remainding two slots with the best selections available with whatever funds you've got left.

Same here. Sure, I was considering not bringing them in this week and getting them for 34 instead, but why waste precious transfers.

Actually getting 5 points from Son was quite good...he only got 2 less than Sterling who I dumped for him and seeing that I have to get Kane for 24 now and will probably have to use 2 transfers for that...I would have to take a hit otherwise.

plus my 32 draft had 6 diferent picks than my actual WC team and I really dont want most of those 6 now and defo want those 3-4 new ones
we will say if it was good later ofc so dont say that was a good way actually but Im defo happy atm

Why would Chelsea stop trying in the PL and rest players all of a sudden after one game? There not in Europe and can still make top 4. If they win their game in hand (they should), they’ll be 7 pts off Liverpool. If they beat Liverpool at home (likely), that gap will be just 4. If anything it will help because Chelsea need to start attacking more and Willian + Alonso will benefit. This seems like a big knee-jerk thing to me after their performance!

    61pts on WC this week.

my other idea of Vardy instead of Lukaku, reinvest in defense for smelling and montreal/mustafi would of payed off but oh well long term I don't mind.

It's very nice to click on "my team" and see no moves needed to be made.

Hope everyone had a good week!

      62 on a WC.

Auba saved my mediocre game week.
Having Kane play today, though, was definitely a bummer.

I must be missing something but what was the logic behind getting Arnie in your wildcard squad?

Yes Soton home good fixture, but then Arsenal away and no double?

i didnt but my thinking was son to arnie would allow kane in 33 and arnie was worth the one very good fixture this week and would prob do ok at che given his form
i feared a son brace tho and also my wc was dgw34 biased

My logic was: "I'm free-hitting in 34 so wont need to use a transfer to get him out, or carry him in a dgw. And I'd rather have "the man" playing for a side with everything to play for, rather than having a rotationexposed player like Mikh or Willian".

With this lot of players should I BB or TC Lukaku in Dgw34?

    Lloris, Ryan
    Alonso, Mustafi, Lowton, Chilwell, Morgan
    Salah, Mahrez, Son, Mkhi, Gudmonsson
    Lukaku, Aubameyang, Barnes

Maybe I'll do 2FT sell Mkhi and Auba > cheapie + Kane.

      Hi guys,

With all Chips remaining, is the best strategy still:

GW 33 WC, 34 BB, 35 FH, 37 TC or is there another option that’s better?
