After three highly competitive rounds there are now just 64 managers left in our open-to-all Fantasy Premier League Cup competition.

Round three was particularly notable for the giant-killing exploits of 61,873-placed norman conquest. He defeated the round’s highest-ranked manager, thisisdiz, whose score of 57 saw him slip from 48th to 64th in the overall standings.

Next up for Norman Conquest is a more evenly matched encounter with Beetlejuice, who sits in 75,077th spot.

Thisisdiz’s defeat means that Leaf is now the competition’s best placed manager, with an overall position of 55. He saw off djman102 in round three to set himself up with a head-to-head against 134,999-placed ChrisVD.

Always Captain Kun is the only other round three survivor to boast a top 100 rank. He is now preparing his 63rd-placed troops for battle with 64,726-ranked Le Tigre in a bid to reach the last 32.

Round four’s lowest-placed manager, TD7242, who sits in 599,904th spot, will be hoping to emulate Norman Conquest’s exploits for his tie with top 3,000-ranked Batmaniac.

As will 391,603rd-placed jaycar25 for his encounter with 802-ranked AK, who is one of only four top 1,000 managers left in the competition.

The fourth of these high-flyers is 704th-placed horlicks esq.. He takes on 2EyedTurk, who is 32,496 places behind him in the overall standings.

The full second round results can be found here, while the third round draw can be found here.

I have a similar team, I'm currently debating

      1. Gross vs Lingard
      2. Son vs D Silva since I already have Kane
      3. Alonso or someone else for premium defender

        Identical dilemmas.

        1. Went Gross for surety of starts
        2. Son v silva v mkhti......all equally nailed (or not)
        3. Considering Alonso but will have to downgrade son or silva to one of willian or ramsey or arnie.

Morgan to Kiko. Keeps the attacking Lei***ter player and the Burnley defender (best option at under 4.5 by a mile based on ability of team to defend)

Money no object, who would you rather? Sanchez or Dele Alli?

No Lukaku with front 3 of Kane, Auba and Vardy.

Difference in money saved really just means more expensive defence which i don't feel I need...

      Lineups I'm tossing between:

      GK: DDG, Karius
DEF: Christensen, Femenia, Chilwell, LOWTON, LEJUENE
MID: Salah, SANCHEZ, Lingard, Mili, Kenedy
      FWD: Auba, Kane, Vardy
      $1.0 ITB

      Vs

      GK: DDG, Karius
DEF: Christensen, Femenia, Chilwell, BAINES, SMALLING
MID: Salah, ALLI, Lingard, Mili, Kenedy
      FWD: Auba, Kane, Vardy
      $1.3 ITB

Sanchez but merely for the fixtures.

In reality Lukaku is the one to have up top and De Gea. I think he last spot is more then likely to be given to a defende due to budget personally.

Depends where the value lies in your team - for me Aub and Lukaku over the next two is worth more then Kane, including when you add the captaincy decisions in.

That 1-2 million is the difference between a southampton defender and a united one for some.

    Biased Chelsea asset owner here.

I actually don’t think the rotation will be too much of an issue for certain players for this Double gameweek.

It’s not entirely out of the question that top 4 has gone, 10 points behind Liverpool with a game in hand and a game against them can turn into a 4 point gap - very manageable.

Last time we saw heavy rotation was against stoke it was Hazard and Morata that dropped out, and as the two big ticket players I could see that happening again.

Alonso had also had his rest, and despite his early withdrawal and the scoreline, he was potentially the most threatening player from the eye test.

Also, we’ve seen Cesc in and out. Which means Willian could even sneak pens as well as more set pieces.

TL;DR - Willian I think will be fine. Alonso at least until the last few games of the season. Hazard and Morata owners may want to get a bit shifty in their seats.

Same on Firmino and no interest in selling. Liverpool's fixtures are generally excellent (Chelsea in 37 aside) and rotation won't be an issue after next Tuesday. Would try to get Auba in another way tho if possible

If Liverpool go through and beat City, then rotation will definitely be an issue. They will have West Brom and Stoke before both their CL Semi final matches.

Yes, let's be sensible and remember that Liverpool have beaten City this season and were the better team up until the red card in the first match this season. I think City will edge it but it will be close.

We will know more this evening, but Liverpool are second favourites to win the home leg. Liverpool were certainly not the better team up until the red card in the first meeting - they were already a goal down. If the game had ended on the sending off it would send City through on away goals.

If by some miracle Liverpool beat City over two legs, then I will re-evaluate Firmino (and Robertson). But I give them less than a 5% chance of getting through the tie

If you’ve got value in him then why keep him? Can’t spend it otherwise.

Depends if you are free hitting and the rest of your double gameweek team - is personally sell and get a double player but I go balls to the walls for them.

It's more that you lose the ability to get him back in for his lovely GW35, 36 and 38 fixtures as he would cost £0.6m more than you sell him for

True - each to their own.

I haven’t owned him since his blank spell early on, but will be getting him in for 35. Forward line of Aub, Aguero and him for that.

Afterwards I think Vardy still has his with (especially his scoring record against Arsenal) Kane has Betterman fixtures and Aub has a double, so no way to fit him in.

    Which WC do you prefer?

    Lineups I'm tossing between:

    GK: DDG, Karius
DEF: Christensen, Femenia, Chilwell, LOWTON, LEJUENE
MID: Salah, SANCHEZ, Lingard, Mili, Kenedy
    FWD: Auba, Kane, Vardy

    Vs

    GK: DDG, Karius
DEF: Christensen, Femenia, Chilwell, BAINES, SMALLING
MID: Salah, ALLI, Lingard, Mili, Kenedy
    FWD: Auba, Kane, Vardy

Okay so since my last comment was deleted I'm posting it again.... Said nothing wrong on it

"just a thought for members and paying members on here

Do you not get annoyed with Mark not sharing info before the deadline that might benefit us (proof is in his 'maverick' transfers) which is the whole point why he made this website.... I would be so annoyed if I was a paying member"

No. Mark is not obliged to tell us who he has bought if that’s what you’re referring to. It’s a nice surprise to see FPL Virgin tell us Marks Maverick pick

Could you elaborate on "his info".

      My opinion only

If mark knew best he would be winning this game year in year out. A lot ofluck in this game that is outside of everyones control. Roll with it my friend.

He doesn’t know more then us, this is an elaborate ruse that people have got in their heads.

He would be winning the whole thing if that was the case.

And no one who had anichibe in his team can be the real font of all knowledge.

Stop being bitter and play your own game.

Not at all yours is a very cynical viewpoint. He's entitled to make maverick picks if he wants - after all he's very good at it. I certainly don't think that he would do anything unethical.

You need to get out more.
Lots of love, from a happy member. (or at least I would be if hadn't burnt my FH earlier in the season)

Whilst I would be more comfortable if the owner of the site were not a fellow competitior, which opens him up to some to possible accusations of conflict of interests, Mark is in no way obliged to say what he thinks a particular pick should or should not be. Indeed, by making specific recommendations he runs the risk that people will say they have been misled by his advice (it happens - it's amazing, but it happens).

Neither Mark nor any of the moderators are obliged to share anything with non-members, and my only request as a member is that Mark makes share all of his sources of information (where possible) with members, so that we can all make an informed decision.

Totally agree and I think he is good at this. Mark is entitled as a competitor to play the game as he sees fit. As the owner of this site I only ask that he shares as much information as is possible in an accessible way. I've been a memeber in the past and it does help raise your game so I can appreciate that these value adding tools are paid for. What I'm not paying for is for Mark to play the game for me.

only a member as I feel it right to contribute a small amount of £ for the amount of time I'm on the site. grateful to Mark & the lads who keep the place interesting & ticking over but honestly pay not much heed to their calls/picks. don't ever watch/listen to the scoutcast. just enjoy the comments section, the fixture ticker & the stats available at ease.

I do have interest in regular long time posters comments & they really help this place as much as the mods (imo)

The ticker is cool, but other than that it's just stat overload. Things like the comparison tool just aren't practical IMO. The only thing I really care about is xG/xA. The rest is a mental exercise.

I find that, because the site signs me out so frequently and readily (does anyone else find this?) I don't even browse the site as a member that much, and I find too much of the 'banter' too inane to trawl through and comment on anyway. I basically use the site as a non-member and pay for the privilege. I must just be a mug but I don't mind supporting the site.

To be fair to Mark, that info was on the forums and was a bit 50:50 in terms of veracity. I understand what your alluding to but I don't think there is an issue here personally. For me their is a good balance between Mark playing the game as a punter, providing insight into what he is doing and Mark/.FFS as a content provider of FF info.

    GW33 captaincy.

    Based on stats:
    - EVE have improved defensively in last couple of home games
    - STK are awful at home by any measure
    - SOT away have been decent (in terms of shots or chances conceded), but the opposition has been weak... and they've conceded a lot

Conclusion: Kane/Son or Auba, not Salah.
