The ScoutCast crew are joined by the current Fantasy Premier League pacesetter in this latest episode, as world number one Bharat Dhody drops by.

With ice flowing through his veins, Bharat risks the curse that has seen us dent the title tilt for previous top-ranked managers to join myself, Jonty, Andy and Az for a ScoutCast season highlight.

Inevitably, the four of us are a little star-struck, but in between our desperate attempts to convince Bharat to keep his cards close to his chest, we put his season and current mindset under scrutiny.

    Morning.

    So I’m 31 points behind my rival in my cash league.

    Our squads are very similar with only a couple of exceptions.

    Don’t feel too hopeful of catching him to be honest cos’ our teams are so similar.

    Thing is I’ve got two free transfers and he has only one. I also have my triple captain left, whereas he’s used his.

    Should I just try to get maximum points or go all out for differentials, like: Bailly/Mahrez/Murray/Vardy > Laporte/Sane/JAyew/Jesus (TC) for -8

      I think that you're definitely still in with a shot!
      I wouldn't take a -8pt hit though. Perhaps a -4pt hit only to get Jesus in - if workable?

      keep to a 1 hit maximum if at all. Try to get Jesus or Sane. TC on Sterling as he's you best diff. I got rid of Willian for Sane. Vardy/Mahrez are a concern at the moment as their form has dropped.

    Nursing a heavy DGW 34 hangover, I have this bag of rotation-prone, SGWers and holiday heads to field with a Bench Boost… 2.3m ITB and 2FT:

    DDG - Dubravka
    Maguire - Robertson* - Lowton* - Aurier - PVA*
    Gudmundsson* - Mahrez - Kenedy - Pogba - Willian
    Kane - Wood* - Vardy

    Default move for premium spots would be Mahrez > Sterling & Willian > Alli

    I’m happy to do a -8 or more, but does it make sense to swap out any more DGW players for a hit?

    ...or should I squander points replacing the likes of Aurier, Robertson, Gudmundson, Wood..?

    Any random advice appreciated!

      Don't worry about having SGW players on the bench boost. They're allowed to score points too... I got 19 pts last week from my bench boost which I'm very happy with.

      If you did Wood>JAyew and Aurier>Naughton, would that let you buy a desirable mid for Gudmundsson?

      B or C will need to score >6pts to justify the additional -4pt hit (assuming Barnes 2pts against Arsenal).
      If you think that either has the potential to outscore Barnes, then go for it!

      I'm going with Sterling.

      Apart from 2 weeks when he was injured, he's been benched once in the last 25 GWs and that was over the Christmas period when they nearly lost to Palace so I reckon he'll start both games.

    These late at night price changes are a pain - I had hoped Barnes would stay at 5.4. Last-day-wait-for-injuries-transfers are all very well but those who advocate them don't often point out the down side. Grr.
