Fantasy managers are eased into a sunny Saturday’s action with an encounter at the bet365 Stadium between Stoke City and Crystal Palace.

For the Potters, this is a vital match with three points the target to give them any real hope of scrambling free of the relegation spots.

But in Fantasy terms, this is a low impact affair.

Indeed, Wilfried Zaha is the most signed player on show having claimed 43,000+ new owners ahead of Friday’s deadline. His recent form of four goals and an assist from his last four Gameweeks has inspired that investment and he will clearly be the main threat to Stoke’s defence today.

Luka Milivojevic is the other major Palace asset.

He remains part of 758,000+ FPL squads, although the Serb suffered considerable sales before Friday’s deadline with 97,000+ managers moving him out making him the fifth most sold player.

That exodus comes following last weekend’s decision to surrender spot-kick duties to Christian Benteke for the Eagles fifth goal in the victory over Leicester City.

Xherdan Shaqiri remains Stoke’s big Fantasy attraction. The Swiss midfielder is retained by 495,000+ managers ahead of today’s match, despite suffering ownership losses of almost 90,000 over the last two Gameweeks.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Came from fantasy style sports games in the US. ESPN did a good documentary on “Rotisserie” Football where a group of people came up with a fantasy draft game for NFL games. It then became mainstream.

I think the Telegraph were the first to have a mainstream game over here for our football and that must have been mid-90s. The idea of assists in football only really became a thing when the fantasy game took off.

Spurs don't need a player to play every game. They need options off the bench. Poch's subs are always the same and they have no impact. Always brings on Wanayama and one of Lamela / Moura.

          1. Pierce34
            • 10 Years
            8 years, 1 month ago

Speaking of Pochettino, I'm thinking he's partly the problem with subs. I mean, he's had Kane injured this year and a perfectly good back-up striker in Llorente (with proven PL pedigree) and yet he only brings him as a sub in the final 5 minutes of the game.

Maybe Janssen wasn't the problem last year, I think it's the manager himself and his inability to trust players that aren't Kane.

      2. Sánchez
        • 13 Years

They do need some width with pace but Shaqiri isnt that. Zaha would maybe suit but Martial would be over priced
