We bring you news of another big-money contest on offer from our partner game Yahoo for Fantasy managers this weekend.

They have a Premier League £1.5k Saturday tournament which takes in all five of that day’s matches from 3 pm onwards, finishing with the 5.30pm kick-off between Everton and Southampton at Goodison Park.

The contest is guaranteed to run, costs £5 to enter and is a multi-entry game, which means you can select up to three teams. The top 82 places pay out – there’s a minimum win-back of £10, with £150 going to the first place.

Driven by Opta data, the Yahoo game has a unique scoring system which is ideal for those members of our community on the lookout for a Daily Fantasy Sports game.

If you’re new to Yahoo, you can sign up and claim a free £50 in credit to your account when you deposit just £5. Promo code: Fantasy50.

Before getting started on your lineup, it’s worth have a read of ourStrategy Guide, which assesses the types of players who profit from the rule set.

FFS Strongest XI

Hugo Lloris – £16
Idrissa Gueye – £14
Christian Kabasele – £13
Cedric Soares – £13
Riyad Mahrez – £23
Will Hughes – £15
Dusan Tadic – £18
Christian Eriksen – £25
Harry Kane – £29
Marko Arnautovic – £17
Jordan Ayew – £16

As the only top seven team to feature in Saturday’s contest, we’re turning to Tottenham Hotspur’s Hugo Lloris for a trip to West Bromwich Albion. The Yahoo scoring system is key to our decision – it awards goalkeepers points for wins or draws and double the number of points as defenders for a clean sheet. Given that Spurs have won four and drawn one of their last five on the road, Lloris offers the likelihood of points even if his side concede at The Hawthorns, then.

Idrissa Gueye makes our selection thanks to his out-of-position classification as a defender for this week’s visit of Southampton. Everton have been in solid defensive form at Goodison, claiming three clean sheets in their last four– only Man City have breached their backline of late. The Ghanaian’s ball-winning ability is smiled upon kindly in the Yahoo game – just six players have registered more successful tackles (46) in home matches. Gueye has also upped his attacking threat of late, with a goal and assist in the last three Gameweeks.

Watford’s home defensive form earns Christian Kabasele a spot in our three-man defence for the visit of Newcastle United. A goalless draw with Crystal Palace at Vicarage Road in Gameweek 35 means that the Hornets have three clean sheets in five in front of their own supporters. Since returning from injury in Gameweek 35, Kabasele is placed second among team-mates for successful tackles (six) and blocks (two). He also boasts a decent goal threat from the back and has found the net twice in 25 starts.

Southampton’s Cedric Soares has profited from a recent wing-back role ahead of a trip to Everton. Over his last four matches, the Portugal international has created two big chances and earned two assists – joint-top among defenders on both counts. With Mark Hughes’ men in desperate need of a win to keep their survival bid alive, Cedric’s delivery could be key – he’s ranked fifth in defence for successful crosses (24) this season.

Riyad Mahrez is our preferred Leicester City pick for the visit of West Ham United. At home, the Algerian has been involved in 56% of his side’s goals when selected – well up on Jamie Vardy’s 44%. Up against a defence with just two clean sheets on the road, Mahrez is also top-ranked for the Foxes for shots (31), efforts on target (18), big chances created (seven) and assists (six) at the King Power.

Will Hughes boast some strong underlying statistics for the visit of Newcastle. Since returning to the first XI in Gameweek 32, his total of ten key passes is at least double any team-mate, while the former Derby man also leads the way for successful tackles (15). Meanwhile, the Magpies have managed just two shutouts on the road all season.

Having scored three of Southampton’s five goals under Mark Hughes, Dusan Tadic will be an influential figure for the trip to Everton. Since the new manager was appointed in Gameweek 32, the Serbian’s underlying numbers are convincing – no team-mate betters him for shots (nine), efforts in the box (seven), attempts on target (five) or key passes (12).

Christian Eriksen and Harry Kane are both included for Spurs’ trip to The Hawthorns.

Of the two, it’s the Dane who has impressed the most in recent weeks, with four goals and two assists in his last six outings. During that stretch, he was the top-ranked player for shots (17) and key passes (13) for Spurs.

Back-to-back goals in the previous two hint at an upturn in form for Kane as he collides with a defence that has one clean sheet in eight at home. On the road, the Spurs striker has scored more goals (15) than any player, leading the way for shots (68), efforts in the box (47) and attempts on target (26).

Marko Arnautovic again looks a budget friendly pick as West Ham visit a Leicester side that’s just shipped five goals to Crystal Palace. The Austrian has served up ten goals and five assists since being moved into a forward role back in Gameweek 16 – since then, only Kane and Mohamed Salah have bettered his 25 efforts on target. His hosts are on a poor run of defensive form, claiming just two clean sheets in 11 attempts.

Jordan Ayew completes our line-up as Swansea make their way to Bournemouth. A pivotal figure under Carlos Carvalhal, he’s supplied five goals and two assists in 13 starts since the new manager was appointed in Gameweek 21. Ayew not only leads the way for the Swansea when it comes to shots (20) and efforts on target (ten) during this period, he has also made 36 successful tackles – second only to Kyle Naughton (37) among team-mates and more than any other forward.

As Yahoo allows late swaps up until each kick-off, our listed line-up may well be subject to change.
