Day three of Double Gameweek 37 treats us to three more fixtures, with champions Manchester City getting us underway at home to Huddersfield Town at 1.30pm.

After Harry Kane’s blank at The Hawthorns yesterday, Gabriel Jesus and Raheem Sterling get the chance to vindicate the recent raft of interest from Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers.

Snapped up by 268,000+ and 199,000+ new owners respectively, they were the two most bought players for this round of fixtures.

Handed the armband by 5.04% and 32 of the top 100 managers, Jesus has scored in each of his last four starts for the champions. As a result, over 75,000 FPL managers played their Triple Captain chip on the Brazilian.

Meanwhile, Sterling has three goals and seven assists in six league outings since returning from injury and is seeking a fourth straight double-figure haul. Captained by 4.79% and 11 of the top 100, over 69,000 have played their Triple Captain chip on the England wide man.

Meanwhile, David Silva returns to the teamsheet as Pep Guardiola names a full-strength line-up today.

Sold by 63,000+ FPL managers for Double Gameweek 37, the playmaker has four goals, three assists and a trio of double-digit returns in his last seven Gameweek appearances.

With six and five double-figure hauls respectively at the Etihad, Kevin De Bruyne and Leroy Sane have the potential to rack up the points against a Terries side that have conceded in each of their last 14 road trips.

Now, more than ever, I am sure that all football competitions are rigged! CL in the first plays than goes the others. PL for sure! To much money in the game going around, bookies, overpaid players, 100+ milion transfers. All that must be controled in some way... We are just sheeps who dont see it, that this is all staged for us. By the book, a player has to make 5 league appearances in order to be eligible for an EPL medal.
However, exceptions are always made on a discretionary basis.
A club can request exemption and order a medal if it wants any additional medals for some squad members. In such a case, an exemption request is raised by the club that needs to be approved by the English FA and the club has to pay the necessary charges for 'buying' these extra medals.

      1. Desperately Seeking Dusan
        • 14 Years
        7 years, 11 months ago

Didn't City buy the league in the first place? Not sure they will care about buying a few more medals!

      2. Bazzalona
        • 14 Years
        7 years, 11 months ago

An injury is usually the exemption rule. Dion Dublin only played 3 or 4 in the first Prem season but he got a medal as he broke his leg in August.
Of course if he'd never broken his leg we'd probably not have signed Cantona so its a tad ironic.

Good grief guys the club is given 40 medals and they give them to who they want.

        1. MTPockets
            7 years, 11 months ago

Basically everyone's correct. 5 guarantees a medal, but club does get 40 to hand out to those with fewer if they want.

"The League Champions shall further receive 40 commemorative medals to be presented by the Club to its Manager and to such of its Players and Officials as it thinks fit provided that any Player who has entered the field of play in a minimum of five of its League Matches that Season shall receive from the Club a commemorative medal. Additional medals may only be presented with the consent of the Board which shall only be given if the total number of Players who have entered the field of play that Season in a minimum of five of the Club’s League Matches exceeds 39"

Does anyone know which of the four championship playoff teams is statistically more likely to get promoted?

Off the top of my head, I would probably guess that whoever finishes 3rd (Fulham in this case) tends to lose more often than not due to the disappointment of narrowly missing out on automatic promotion. Or is that a myth?

Early doors, but if this second double gameweek proves to be poor could be the best thing for long-term future of FPL! The level drops in performance of the big teams and large amounts of rotation for various reasons might mean using the chips in a single gameweek in the future becomes anl genuine option for more of the community.
