With five fixtures remaining in Double Gameweek 37, the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) transfer market has a major influence on our members’ assessment of the data so far.

Arsenal’s big January signing is joined by a Crystal Palace pair in catching the eye, while we also assess Mohamed Salah’s recent decline in form ahead of Liverpool’s potentially vital home clash with Brighton.

This is us getting in touch with members and former members and asking them to sign up to a new mailing list so we can stay in touch.

After May 25th we can mail members about the service but we can't mail those users who haven't been members this season without new permissions.

      It's nothing sinister.

Why would West Brom roll over final day? They have not rolled over so far under new manager. I know they’re relegated but palace save, it’s a nothing match. I do not expect palace to get a huge haul.

11 hits x 4 = 44 points for my case, rank top 800 OR now. Personally I think too many hits is not a good strategy. It reflects that you focus more on short-term point potential of your players, and will easily may end up selling somebody you just brought in three or four gameweeks ago. However, buying anyone for too short period will be quite difficulty to justify the -4 you have paid for that player. Together with two wildcards and a freefit, the needs for hit are further diminished. Another reason to support less-hit strategy this season, is the slower pricing change. If the best players shoot up $0.3 every week too easily, hit is unavoidable, and worth to do at the beginning of season, to accumulate team value. But it's not the case this season.

32 points worth of hits for me this season.

There's been a direct correlation between hits and rank with me. I'm just not very good at hit taking.

Last season I took around 80 points in hits and it went terribly.

About 7-9 is my usual most seasons though. I thin that's a good amount.

i lost count when i tried to put my hit numbers together, but approximately 30-35 hits this season, 34 i think. I have found that if i play this game next year i will try to play it more dullard, as my first two whole seasons (the first one i started in GW3), i have been taking a lot of hits, and i like to try something new because i like to try out how good (or bad) i can play if i don´t take hits all the time.

15 hits taken, at a cost of 60 points - and every one of them resulted in a red arrow!

But perhaps the red arrows might have happened in those game-weeks anyway, and at least some of them might have had a good effect in the long run.

I took a 20 point hit in GW13 and dropped from 875k to 1.031m, but then jumped back up to 518k in GW14.

Later I took an 8 point hit in GW17 and dropped from 718k to 812k, but this was followed by 4 green arrows and a rise to 90k by GW21.

      It's been quite a roller-coaster of a season!

I've taken 8 hits (-32), in the top 300 in the world.

I think this misses cause and effect though. People who take less hits do so because the players they've picked are scoring, and so there's less need to move these players and take hits. Either through luck or good management, I'd wager the top 100 every season will have taken very few hits purely because they've picked the right players, not because they've taken fewer hits.

Basically, fewer hits is a pleasant side effect of a good rank, not its cause.

This. I've taken 15 hits, but only 1 hit in the first 14GWs. At which point was mostly playing with a sturdy back 4 or 5, which meant I didn't feel the need to pounce on attacking bandwagon's with FOMO, and it allowed me to save 2FTs more often. I wasn't hit-averse; I just didn't need to take hits.

32 hits so far of which about 6 were totally unjustifiable. I may take fewer hits next season or I may take more, depending on the volatility of the price change algorithm. There are far more important issues in the game than hit frequency. People have a skewed idea about hits due to the managers at the very top taking relatively few of them, forgetting if you are at the top it is unlikely you will have had much cause to take hits.

After seeing Peters season last year, I went into this season looking to take hits. Something new for me. Taken 88 points worth of hits and am +161 points immediately gained after transfers not including fh and wc. So 73 points better. But having a terrible season. So I think they were mostly to catch up rather than being ahead of the game. Looking forward to being dullard again next season.

14 hits, out of which 4 were taken in the last 2GW to block my rival. Overall rank slided from 33 to 90.

My best spell was between GW 13 to 22 where I took no hits. Jumped from 17k to top 300.

FPL need to add more strikers to the game. Who should be classed as forwards next season?
Arnatovic and Zaha should obviously be reclassified. Should players like Salah and Sterling also be reclassified to give more options up front?

    1. Ask Yourself
      • 10 Years
      8 years, 3 months ago

Do they? There are only 3 striker slots but 5 mid spots. Those 4 mids you mentioned are amongst the most popular on here, what midfield options would we have left? Wingers are midfielders unless they do actually play at striker. Arnie and Zaha I can accept

    2. Bushman
      • 10 Years
      8 years, 3 months ago

Agree with Lenin. We’d be stuck with holding mids.
I think it’s too early to call Arnie and Zaha strikers after a few months upfront. What happens if Palace & West Ham buy new strikers in the summer? Arnie and Zaha will get dumped on the wing

    3. Spokey
      • 10 Years
      8 years, 3 months ago

Im not saying that all wingers or players that have played as a forward should be listed as forwards. I think Zaha should be listed as a forward, but not Townsend.

However, this season I have been playing with 1 or 2 forwards most of the time because of lack of options from teams with no forwards like West Ham, Crystal Palace and to some degree Stoke. It could also be because many teams has been rotating strikers more then usual this season.
