Household Fantasy Premier League names Romelu Lukaku and Harry Kane were the stars of World Cup day five.

Both strikers scored twice for their nations and recorded double-figure hauls. With favourable fixtures coming up for them both, they are expected to earn some transfer interest today.

We’ve got all the goals, assists and talking points from the latest round-up of World Cup matches.

BELGIUM 3-0 PANAMA

Romelu Lukaku (£10.0m) continued his prolific form for Belgium as Panama were eventually swept aside 3-0.

The Manchester United striker now has 10 goals and two assists in his last seven matches for his country.

Kevin De Bruyne (£10.0m) and Eden Hazard (£10.0m) provided the assists for Lukaku’s brace after Dries Mertens (£9.0m) had opened the scoring shortly after half-time.

Belgium started the livelier of the two sides and created more chances, but lacked any conviction in the final third at first. Panama were able to ask questions on the counter-attack but lacked the quality to really punish the Red Devils.

Roberto Martinez’s half-time team-talk had impact though, as Belgium raced out of the traps in the second-half to score their opening goal.

Mertens finally broke the deadlock for Belgium shortly into the second half with a wonderful volley over goalkeeper Jaime Penedo (£4.5m), after his initial shot was headed back in his direction by Ramon Torres (£5.0m).

Lukaku put a more familiar look on the score-line in the 68th minute after his close-range header connected with an outstanding pass from De Bruyne.

And in the 75th minute he was put through by Hazard and chipped it over Penedo beautifully to round off the scoring.

BELGIUM XI (3-4-2-1): Courtois, Alderweireld, Boyata, Vertonghen; Meunier, Witsel (Chadli 90′), De Bruyne, Carrasco (Dembele 73′); Mertens (T Hazard 83′), E Hazard (c); R. Lukaku.

PANAMA XI (4-1-4-1): Penedo; Murillo, Escobar, R Torres, Davis; Gomez; Barcenas (G Torres 63′), Godoy, Cooper, Rodriguez (Diaz 63′); Perez (Tejada 73′).

TUNISIA 1-2 ENGLAND

Harry Kane (£11.0m) registered a double-figure haul as he scored a late winner for England against Tunisia.

The Tottenham forward, fresh from another fantastic FPL season, scored a brace for the Three Lions.

The first was scored after John Stones (£5.5m) header from a corner was well-saved by Hassen, Kane slotting in the re-bound from close-range.

Prior to that, Raheem Sterling (£9.0m) and Jesse Lingard (£7.0m) both had guilt-edged chances to find the net.

Tunisia did not offer much attacking threat in the game and their equaliser came agains the run of play.

Fakhereedine Ben Youssef went down in the penalty box and was awarded a penalty. Kyle Walker (£6.0m) was deducted two Fantasy points for his alleged role in the incident.

Sliti scored the spot-kick with Jordan Pickford (£5.5m) getting a glove on the ball before it went in.

England continued to mount their attack in the second-half and Kane scored his second in stoppage time, unmarked at the back post after Harry Maguire (£5.0m) had knocked the ball down from a corner.

TUNISIA XI (4-1-4-1): Hassen (Ben Mustapha 15’); Maaloul, Meriah, S Ben Youssef, Bronn; Schiri; Sliti (Ben Amor 74’), Badri, Sassi, F Ben Youssef; Khazri (Khalifa 85’).

ENGLAND XI (3-5-2): Pickford; Maguire, Stones, Walker; Young, Lingard (Dier 93’), Henderson, Alli (Loftus-Cheek 80’), Trippier; Sterling (Rashford 68’), Kane.

SWEDEN 1-0 SOUTH KOREA

Defender Andreas Granqvist (£5.0m) was the Fantasy hero for Sweden on Monday as he scored the penalty that sealed victory over South Korea.

Despite the ITV commentary team acting surprised to see the centre-back stepping up to take the spot-kick, won by Viktor Claesson (£5.5m), we at Fantasy Football Scout were fully aware of his set-piece responsibilities.

As pointed out by our recent set-pieces article, the Swedish defender scored three penalties in qualifying and continued his record from the spot by sending Jo Hyeon-woo (£4.5m) the wrong way to score in the

Sweden were the livelier side for most of the game with Marcus Berg (£8.0m) and eventual match-winner Granqvist both having excellent chances to score in the first-half.

Striker Berg had a close-range shot well-saved by Jo after Granqvist’s run into the box was well-stopped. The latter also added aerial threat at corners to his already huge Fantasy appeal.

Son Heung-min (£8.0m) was quiet in the opening period, only once causing Sweden problems on their left-side. His run into the box stretched the Swedish defence but his cut-back wasn’t accurate enough and it was easily cleared.

There was heartbreak for Park Joo-Ho (£4.0m) in the 28th minute when he picked up a hamstring injury stretching for a loose ball. Kim Min-woo (£4.0m) came on as his replacement.

SWEDEN XI: (4-4-2): Olsen, Lustig, Granqvist, Augustinsson, Jansson, Larsson (Svensson 79’), Ekdal (Hiljemark 71’), Forsberg, Claesson, Berg, Toivonen (Thelin 77’).

SOUTH KOREA XI (4-2-3-1): Cho; Park, Kim Young-gwon, Jang, Lee Yong; Koo (Lee Sung-woo 72’), Ki, Lee Jae-sung; Son, Kim Shin-wook (Jung 66’), Hwang.

    WC template:

    Lukaku, Ronaldo, Suarez

Cueva (not sure who to replace for) - Isco - Lingard - Layun - Carrasco

    B.Idowu (4.0) - G. Varela - R.Guerreiro - T.Munier - H.Sakai (4.0)

    Munier - F.Uzoho (4.0)

I'm not 100% convinced by my midfield ... Also was tempeted to nacho but carvajal back in training makes me doubt he will start.

James Rodriguez is expected to feature vs Japan despite missing training on Friday due to muscle fatigue. The #COL talisman has also complained of a calf problem although he took part in yesterday’s session: “We are waiting to see what the doctors will say,” coach Pekerman said.

Bench boost is a pointless chip in the group stages unless you are going away and won't be able to make manual subs. Almost insane to play before QF at earliest?

Why? You pick 15 starters in the QFs and half your players play each day. Great chance of leaving points on the bench.

      3. SW6
        • 13 Years
        7 years, 10 months ago

From experience, when it gets to the QF and beyond you cannot afford a full 15 of playing players, especially if the big teams make it through. We will need a 4.0 GK, 4.5 midfielder or two. So you'll have an inactive bench then. Also in the groups you can maximize your 15 by using favourable fixtures that make budget players good value for that GW. That's what I tried to do this first GW with Sweden and Morocco. Without that last minute Iran goal it would have been perfect, but has still worked out well.

    3. Deulofail
      • 10 Years
      7 years, 10 months ago

If you're leaving it late, I think it's gotta be the final, as you can't make subs. Otherwise, R3 or R4 sandwiched with a WC so that you can spend money on 2 food keepers for the BB and then get rid immediately after

      1. Deulofail

        • 11 Years

No. You can transfer between 3pp and final. You willl probably have similar risk of leaving points on bench in each of last three rounds. I'd say any of those would be equally viable.
