Introduction to the Article Type

With so many RMTs on site, we’re going to start collecting them in these RMT Community Articles.

Site regular and moderator ZoumasBloomers has here given us his team, and some explanations of his choices. Feel free to comment on his team.

This is also a place for you to post your team, and please respond to a few others while you’re at it!

Mods have been alerted and will spend some time on these pages responding, but this will work best if you help out others as well as getting responses.

Let’s try to keep the main article pages free from RMTs!

ZoumasBloomers’s RMT

Fabianski – Patricio

Mendy – Robertson – Cedric – Wan-Bissaka – Tomkins

Salah – Mahrez – Mane – Richarlison – Cairney

Aubameyang – Arnautovic – Sorloth

Goalkeepers

Patricio – 4.5m, obviously a quality goalkeeper with international pedigree, and Wolves have some tight fixtures. Seems a no brainer for the 4.5 rotations, after Ryan/Fabianski didn’t rotate well. Sounds like Wolves were quite tight last year as well.

Fabianski – 4.5m, still got memories of his seemingly random hauls last year. Guaranteed save points. Hopefully going to West Ham doesn’t diminish his point scoring potential (still haven’t forgiven Ogbonna from last season)

Defenders

Mendy – 6m, a bit of a punt early on as he seems to be made of tissue paper and not played many minutes, but from his brief spell last season it’s very clear that he offers attacking potential on top of a decent defensive record. Delph and Zinchenko don’t seem to be in favour, and there’s every chance of a very tasty return to 5 at the back from Pep at some point. Will monitor Community Shield.

Robertson – 6m, should be nailed early season, and has some pretty tidy fixtures. Will get in a few crosses, and very easy to switch down to free up funds if pressing issues arise. May even do a goal. Chances are high that he will become a Man Utd defender once their settled XI becomes apparent, but for now I am happy to avoid Jose’s grumpy circus.

Cedric – 4.5m, I’m expecting absolutely nothing from this bloke, may not even start after the World Cup, and doesn’t get as many attacking returns as he should. However, he seems cheap and fixtures are reasonable. Easily benched if needed. A rabbit hole I seem to dive down at the beginning of every season, at least he wastes less money than Bertrand did last year.

Tomkins – 4.5m, Seems to keep clean sheets when paired with Sakho, and does pose a threat from set pieces. Some decent early fixtures providing Palace start better than last season. Roy should have them in a reasonable shape.

Wan-Bissaka, 4m – Would prefer for this to be Peltier, but injury has put me off there. Likely to be perma-benched unless I shift Tomkins early doors. Could prove to be nailed, and should at least offer some price rises as people realise this.

Midfielders

Salah – 13m, I’m too scared not to.

Mane – 9.5m, I like the look of Liverpool fixtures, and Mane has certainly had a good pre-season. Could possibly be on penalties, definitely seems fresh, and gives a good coverage of Liverpool’s attacking options so that I can spread my strikers around. Will have to put up with a few 60 minute substitutions though.

Mahrez – 9m, all aboard the Pep Guardiola rotation wagon. If playing, he should be high up the field, and was experimented with as number 10/false 9 in preseason. No WC fatigue, just need to wait on injury news. Can easily become David Silva if signs are that he may not start. Fully expecting disappointment after I WC’ed him in last season and he cost me a top 1k finish. Could have some free kicks off KDB if he is feeling generous.

Richarlison –  6.5m, What on earth am I doing!? The man has a 50p head, and misses 1 on 1s for fun. However, £50m signings should start every game, and Everton have great fixtures. Should have a point to prove under Marco Silva, and a proper summer of rest after playing for nearly 12 months last year. Could well be this year’s bargain if he finds his shooting boots. Worth a punt, and a goal in preseason is a good sign.

Cairney – 5m, I’ll be honest, I’ve never seen him play. Looks the best of the 5m options for me purely because Kenedy has shocking early fixtures and Neves plays deep and loves a card. Fully expect Cairney to shuffle to Kenedy on my first WC. Will rotate with my 4th defender and 3rd striker.

Forwards

Aubameyang – 11m, the man that everyone will want from GW3. I’d love a nailed Aguero but I’m concerned that Jesus will steal some minutes in that GW2 fixture against Huddersfield. Saving myself the hassle of a transfer by starting with the Arsenal man, has every chance of scoring vs a travelled City side in GW1 anyway

Arnautovic – 7m, never a dull moment, equal chances of scoring a brace or elbowing someone in the head. Has been banging them in in pre-season, and West Ham’s fixtures aren’t as bad as made out (and they boast a decent squad this season). Concerned that Zaha may move back into midfield, or that his head will have turned by transfer rumours, so going with the early season form and security here. Only issue is that some re-jigging will be needed to turn him into Firmino if things go south.

Sorloth – 5m, Reasonable start to his Palace career, looks quite sharp for an absolute lump of a man and may well header a few in at some point. Likely to always be on the bench, but offers more potential than the 4.5m strikers. Nicely fills out an all Palace bench for me as well.

CONCLUSION

A lot of very highly owned players being overlooked, but a lot of decent price players that can be easily switched.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Where have I gone wrong, and where have I gone right? What do you suggest I change? Feel free to tear into me in the comments!

Remember, post your RMTs below in this article. There will be another new RMT Community Article tomorrow.

Do you really want to have zero bench AND be playing Daniels and Ralls? Thats a 9 man team even before we start talking about how bad a pick Jags is! The Everton defence has not been looking good in preseason or last year.

Trouble is the bench, Daniels and Jag. Otherwise it’s great!

You may end up having to downgrade one of Sané or Eriksen to boost defence

Jags, PVA and Firmino > Robbo, Tomkins and Zaha/Arnie/Tosun

Would free up 2m to upgrade your bench and give yourself some decent rotation options

Can also chuck in King / Wilson for the 3rd forward to release more funds

sane or eriksen downsize to upgrade jags ralls and one bench

  2. FC Barkerlona

    Think I'm almost there..

    Ederson / Hamer
    Robertson / Bailly / Sakho / Peltier / Wan-Bissaka
    Salah / Mané / Mahrez / Fraser / Cairney
    Agüero / Zaha / Wilson

    0 ITB

My current plan is by GW3 to do Mane & Mahrez > KDB and Pogba GW2/3, which frees up 0.5m to upgrade Peltier. Then around GW9 look to bring in Kenedy and Perez when Newcastle fixtures turn favourable. Sniff around any bandwagons in-between then.

    Thoughts?

Thansk, not sold on it myself. Both should start but I could go Sakho>Tomkins which gives me an extra 0.5 to upgrade Peltier. Means I could start with Daniels and upgrade him to Lovren or TAA after GW3 with the extra 0.5 I get from doing the Mane & Mahrez > KDB and Pogba.

Anything else and I'm probably downgrading a premium but can't see a better plan.

Hey guys, can I get some opinions on this, please?

    Fabianski - Foster
Mendy - TAA - Luiz - Tomkins - Wan Bissaka
    D. Silva - Mane - Moura - Mata - Richarlison
    Firmino - Aguero - Arnautovic

    0.5m ITB

I'd like Sanchez in there but will have to be ok with Mata for now.

Mata and Moura are punts for the first few weeks. If Kun starts to rotate I'll get Aubameyang on GW3 or something. Any suggestions are welcomed!

    Thanks

That's the big question... I feel Salah takes up too much of the budget so I've tried to compensate by having Mane and Firmino. I feel Salah will be a lot more marked this season, which I've seen a bit from the friendlies, which should open up space for Mane

I can definitely see where you're coming from...and if he doesn't produce then you've stolen a march on everyone. But if he does, and with his ownership...you might struggle to come back from that.

I like it. You have no bench but dont really need one with that team. Good Work.

I'd agree, only downfall is lack of flexibility, having 2 defenders at 4.5 mil is more useful than 1 def and 1 mid at 4.5 mil, but in regards to value, premium defenders are the way to go

King and Kamara are not up for debate. Benteke is the annoying pick due to only having 6.5.

        Sanchéz + Benteke would potentially be Auba/Laca + 6/7.5 midfielder after GW2

    3. Mr. Perfectionist

Stones will be heavily rotated and Benteke is not nailed on to star either. Would downgrade one of the heavy hitting mids and Stones and upgrade Benteke

Really like this. Only concern is 2 x 4.0 defenders & a 4.5 mid as they will be difficult to upgrade but the players you've picked have a good chance of starting so are nice options for now.

Like the Auba pick, I've gone for him as well as I plan to wait until long into the season before using my WC but agree that the first two fixtures will be tricky.

If you're worried about Arnie vs Zaha, pick and stick with you think will score more points in the first 2 or 3, then review based on their performances.

      Good luck for the season!

    B) Sturridge (Firmino doesn't look fit)
    Who will start for Palace?
    A) Kelly
    B) AWB

    Thanks

I don’t think Pedro is a punt Sarri is an attacking coach I think could be a good season for him

I’m personally hoping Sturridge gets a loan deal somewhere he will play

Ok here we go...is similar to zoumas

    Patricio / Fabianski
    Mendy / Daniels / Cedric / Peltier / Wan B
    Salah / Pedro / Sanchez / Sane / Ward
    Auba / Arnie / Jilimez

0.5 in the bank - may upgrade Jilimez if a decent transfer happens at this level ...

    Thoughts ?

Needs another premium midfielder in my opinion.

When aguero starts getting rotated and you swap him for aubameyang, how do you get kdb in (Just an example of how it looks a bit inflexible).

Thanks! And I understand, but none of the premium mids are nailed/tickle my fancy. I'd rather wait and see and if needs be downgrade Firmino to whatever 6.5> forward is on form. Too risky to bank on Austin or King etc just yet

Cairney isn’t a producer imo otherwise looks decent

Moving either eriksen or mane down to one of the 6.5 options obviously frees up a lot to take cairney to another 6.5 and boost a defender?

    Ederson
Wan B (Rudiger or Moses) Robertson
    Salah Sanchez Richarlison H-Odoi
    Aguero Jimenez Arnautovic

    Bench
    Stekel Fernandinho Alderweireld Diop

Got a spare 0.5 plan Auba transfer GW3 and be aware of a Sanchez change possibly sterling or KDB

You have regardless a eve keeper, possibly should put W Bissaka as first sub as Arnold looks unlikely GW1..

But it is a solid starting lineup,

Strong. Not sure of Sané’s prospects until he’s fit enough for Pep. Might get answered in the CS this afternoon. Would perhaps downgrade Tarkowski to Tomkins and upgrade TAA to Luiz but that’s just me.

First post as a member! RMT please..

    Foster (Fabianski)
Van Dijk, Daniels, Bailly & Bertrand (Tomkins)
Salah (C), Sane & Pedro (Maddison, Fraser)
    Auba, Mitrovic & Arnautovic

Unsure whether to go Arnie or Tosun..

difficult to find fault. Pay attention to where Auba and Arnie could start. Could easily be a winger and a midfielder

Move on either Sane or Cedric for Mahrez or a 4.0, in order to get Zaha in for Wood, or go 3-5-2 and get Richarlison??

And is Fab likely to be first choice?

    Fab/4.0
    Mendy Robertson PvA
    Salah(c) Eriksen Sane
    Auba Arnie Wood

11th man/bench Cedric, AWB, Odoi or Stephens.

Love it. Bit concerned on whats Spurs' team will look like by weekend as hardly any of them have played any PS. zaha and arnie is a real either-or for me.

I would pick one of Zaha/Arnie but that's my way

I’d say B. One of the reasons is that there’s a limited number of semi premium fwds. Laca, Vardy and Morata. One of them could become a bargain early on and you’ll be able to get one in one move. Lots of mid options in the 6.5 bracket, some fwds as well of course but as the prices suggest; I’d expect more from Laca and the likes than I would from Benteke, King and Mitrovic.

Take 2, with what I feel is a more balanced defense.

    Fabianski (speroni)
    Bailly, Luiz, Lovren, (Malone, Bennett)
    Mhki, Richarlison, Sachez, Salah, (Cairney)
    Zaha, Arnie, Auba.

Got .5 in the bank so thinking of swapping Bennett for Cedric.

Aubo goes out for Luka once he's back.

    Thoughts?

i doubt lovren will start the season.
The forward line could explode but could also fail drastically. there's a chance none of them play as central striker

    Thoughts?

    Begovic / Boruc

    Bailly/Mendy/VVD (AWB/Peltier)
    Salah/Sanchez/Richarlison/Mane/Hughes
    Aguero/King (Kamara)

Plan to shift Sanchez to KdB Gw3 and move Kun to Auba at the same time...

Thanks! I was looking for the best 8.5 goalkeeper pairing for the early GWs and Bournemouth seems best in that regard. Could always downgrade one of the 5.5/6.0 defenders later on to upgrade GK.

Any thoughts on this? Feel Clyne will start the season and plenty of flexibility to sub out at 5.0 (probably for Lovren) once first choice Liverpool defence established....

Gives me City, Utd, Liv, Chels defensive cover and a decent top 6

    Fabianski // (McCarthy)

Clyne, Mendy, Luiz, Bailly, (Wan - Bissaka)

    Salah, Mahrez, Mane, Pedro, (Ward)

    Aguero, Arnie
