Introduction to the Article Type

With so many RMTs on site, we’re going to start collecting them in these RMT Community Articles.

Site regular and moderator ZoumasBloomers has here given us his team, and some explanations of his choices. Feel free to comment on his team.

This is also a place for you to post your team, and please respond to a few others while you’re at it!

Mods have been alerted and will spend some time on these pages responding, but this will work best if you help out others as well as getting responses.

Let’s try to keep the main article pages free from RMTs!

ZoumasBloomers’s RMT

Fabianski – Patricio

Mendy – Robertson – Cedric – Wan-Bissaka – Tomkins

Salah – Mahrez – Mane – Richarlison – Cairney

Aubameyang – Arnautovic – Sorloth

Goalkeepers

Patricio – 4.5m, obviously a quality goalkeeper with international pedigree, and Wolves have some tight fixtures. Seems a no brainer for the 4.5 rotations, after Ryan/Fabianski didn’t rotate well. Sounds like Wolves were quite tight last year as well.

Fabianski – 4.5m, still got memories of his seemingly random hauls last year. Guaranteed save points. Hopefully going to West Ham doesn’t diminish his point scoring potential (still haven’t forgiven Ogbonna from last season)

Defenders

Mendy – 6m, a bit of a punt early on as he seems to be made of tissue paper and not played many minutes, but from his brief spell last season it’s very clear that he offers attacking potential on top of a decent defensive record. Delph and Zinchenko don’t seem to be in favour, and there’s every chance of a very tasty return to 5 at the back from Pep at some point. Will monitor Community Shield.

Robertson – 6m, should be nailed early season, and has some pretty tidy fixtures. Will get in a few crosses, and very easy to switch down to free up funds if pressing issues arise. May even do a goal. Chances are high that he will become a Man Utd defender once their settled XI becomes apparent, but for now I am happy to avoid Jose’s grumpy circus.

Cedric – 4.5m, I’m expecting absolutely nothing from this bloke, may not even start after the World Cup, and doesn’t get as many attacking returns as he should. However, he seems cheap and fixtures are reasonable. Easily benched if needed. A rabbit hole I seem to dive down at the beginning of every season, at least he wastes less money than Bertrand did last year.

Tomkins – 4.5m, Seems to keep clean sheets when paired with Sakho, and does pose a threat from set pieces. Some decent early fixtures providing Palace start better than last season. Roy should have them in a reasonable shape.

Wan-Bissaka, 4m – Would prefer for this to be Peltier, but injury has put me off there. Likely to be perma-benched unless I shift Tomkins early doors. Could prove to be nailed, and should at least offer some price rises as people realise this.

Midfielders

Salah – 13m, I’m too scared not to.

Mane – 9.5m, I like the look of Liverpool fixtures, and Mane has certainly had a good pre-season. Could possibly be on penalties, definitely seems fresh, and gives a good coverage of Liverpool’s attacking options so that I can spread my strikers around. Will have to put up with a few 60 minute substitutions though.

Mahrez – 9m, all aboard the Pep Guardiola rotation wagon. If playing, he should be high up the field, and was experimented with as number 10/false 9 in preseason. No WC fatigue, just need to wait on injury news. Can easily become David Silva if signs are that he may not start. Fully expecting disappointment after I WC’ed him in last season and he cost me a top 1k finish. Could have some free kicks off KDB if he is feeling generous.

Richarlison –  6.5m, What on earth am I doing!? The man has a 50p head, and misses 1 on 1s for fun. However, £50m signings should start every game, and Everton have great fixtures. Should have a point to prove under Marco Silva, and a proper summer of rest after playing for nearly 12 months last year. Could well be this year’s bargain if he finds his shooting boots. Worth a punt, and a goal in preseason is a good sign.

Cairney – 5m, I’ll be honest, I’ve never seen him play. Looks the best of the 5m options for me purely because Kenedy has shocking early fixtures and Neves plays deep and loves a card. Fully expect Cairney to shuffle to Kenedy on my first WC. Will rotate with my 4th defender and 3rd striker.

Forwards

Aubameyang – 11m, the man that everyone will want from GW3. I’d love a nailed Aguero but I’m concerned that Jesus will steal some minutes in that GW2 fixture against Huddersfield. Saving myself the hassle of a transfer by starting with the Arsenal man, has every chance of scoring vs a travelled City side in GW1 anyway

Arnautovic – 7m, never a dull moment, equal chances of scoring a brace or elbowing someone in the head. Has been banging them in in pre-season, and West Ham’s fixtures aren’t as bad as made out (and they boast a decent squad this season). Concerned that Zaha may move back into midfield, or that his head will have turned by transfer rumours, so going with the early season form and security here. Only issue is that some re-jigging will be needed to turn him into Firmino if things go south.

Sorloth – 5m, Reasonable start to his Palace career, looks quite sharp for an absolute lump of a man and may well header a few in at some point. Likely to always be on the bench, but offers more potential than the 4.5m strikers. Nicely fills out an all Palace bench for me as well.

CONCLUSION

A lot of very highly owned players being overlooked, but a lot of decent price players that can be easily switched.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Where have I gone wrong, and where have I gone right? What do you suggest I change? Feel free to tear into me in the comments!

Remember, post your RMTs below in this article. There will be another new RMT Community Article tomorrow.

Going for a 352, I like what I have here but would love to hear your thoughts. I promised myself no RMT's until after the CS so here it is!

    Rui /Stek
    Mendy Robbo Bailly /AWB Peltier
    Salah Mane BSilva Jota Richarlison

He dropped out of contention when Tekkers returned, but maybe he'll be back on the radar if Zaha leaves.

Having 0.5 ITB may be better...(i.e. downgrade to Kamara).

Unless Jota falls to a 5.0 mid as a 5th bench fodder enabling you to upgrade to King / Austin

Would put the Wolves back up keeper in instead of Stekelenberg. Not sure on Sorloth, keep an eye on him. Other than that looks good.

    Ederson / Hamer
    Robertson / Lowton / Doherty / Cook / Wan-Bissaka
    Saha / Mane / BSilva / Richarlison / Hughes
    Kun / Zaha / Arnautovic

Mane + BSilva, could become KDB + Mkhitaryan
    Hazard & Kane obvious challenges

Hello Guys I have an out of the box Idea that will look absurd at first but might be useful. What if I don't make my team for the Gameweek 1 and start on Gameweek 2. It will be a wildcard I guess and besides I only have to win my mini-league. Don't need ridiculing just your views.

No I can have a much better team and over the season 40-50 points that other people would score in GW 1 can easily be covered i guess

If the players returning from WC rests miss GW1 and are available for GW2 then sure. Can you re-join those mini leagues late? If they all captain Salah and he bangs in a hat trick GW1?

    4. mitsubachi

    Post-Community Shield Knee Jerk edition:

    DDG
    Robertson / Mendy / Tomkins
    Salah / Mané / B. Silva / Richarlison / Jota
    Aguero / King

Subs: Hamer // Kabasale / AWB / Kamara

    - Should I get a 4.0 other than AWB (Peltier)?
    - Is DDG worth it this early on?

Do you think a 4.5 GK rotation pair would work better instead? Could upgrade Kamara to either:

    A) Arnautovic (with Jota --> 5.0)
    B) Tosun (with Richarlison --> 5.0)

Lost count of the attempts but slowly settling on something like this. Want to go with a more premium city mid but rotation is a nightmare so hoping bsilva plays his way into the team...false hope?

    Patrício

    Robertson / Tomkins / Mendy

Bernardo Silva / Salah / Özil / Neves

    Arnautovic / Firmino / Agüero

Bench: Fab, 4.5 def (currently Doherty), Gunnarson, Wan-Bissaka

    Ryan/button
    Robertson, Mendy, Bailly
    Salah, Mane, bsilva, Richarlison

    Tomkins, 4.5m, wanbas.

After watching the Comminity shield, please RMT:

    Alisson
    Mendy-David Luiz-Bailey
    Mahrez-Salah-Pedro-Mkhi
    Aguero-Arnautovic-Zaha

    Stekelenburg-Cedric-Wan Bissaka-Stephens

Thinking of B Silva in place of Mahrez while Sane was subbed off 45 min for the Shield game, not sure if he will start. Pedro looks quite nailed. Any thoughts? Thanks.

I liked the idea of Mili, but not sure how many penalties / FKs he'll get post-Zaha. Definitely a step back for the team. Baines a little past it now for my taste, Shaw is one mistake from a great lump of Mou scapegoating 😆

    Robertson Mendy Bailly Daniels (Wan-Bissaka)
    Salah Mane Eriksen (Romeu Stephens)
    Aguero Austin King

    Premium GK
3 Premium Defs, 1 poor Def
    3 Premium mids
1 Premium FW, 2 cheap FW that will both hopefully start
Bench just to start each game and maintain value and provide 2-3 points when required.

Too much in defence? Just think premium defs and GK much more value than mid price mids. Although possible to downgrade King to 4.5 fodder and upgrade one of the mids to 6.5.

    Any feedback appreciated.

I think Daniels and Austin are gametime risks. Are you pretty confident in them?

I was confident in Daniels based on reading through here. I know Austin is a start risk. Just can't find any cheap forward in 6.0 bracket that is better. Can't find a lot of good mids either in that bracket.

I would say there's a bit too much in that defence and in your midfield three. There'll be games where Austin is injured and/or Aguero is dropped and your current team doesn't account for that. Also Daniels isn't a good pick imo.

Do you say that about Daniels because you feel he isn't nailed? Or just that he doesn't have many points potential. Any better options at 4.5?

Here we go. Dont think this will change now:

    Ederson
    Luiz Robertson Tomkins
    Salah Mane KDB Costa
    Aguero Arnie King

    Speroni WanBis Bednarak HudsonOdoi

I like it but KDB probably won't start Gameweek 1 and your bench doesn't cover that very well.

KDB might not start GW 1

I’ve currently got Eriksen as a placeholder with money to upgrade...

    RMT please:

    Ederson, Fabianski
    Alonso, Tomkins, Alex-Arnold, Peltier, Daniels
    Salah, Mkhitaryan, Milivojevic, Neves, Noble
    Aguero, Aubameyang, Arnautovic

Mostly planning to play 3-4-3. Welcome any thoughts...

TAA and Daniels are rotation risks.
Alonso doesn't look good when he's an LB rather than a LWB.
      Mkhi is not nailed on.

Noble is an interesting shout. Will he return enough points with those games? I guess he makes a nice bit of bench fodder, but I feel Cairney or similar could prove to be slightly better.

I think that front 3 is pretty ideal, but Alonso might be a bit pricy. Chelsea didn't look amazing defensively today (Mind it was just a glorified friendly) and he won't be as attacking as in recent years I'd imagine

    How about this:

    Foster
    Robertson - Mendy - PvA
    Salah - Mane - B. Silva - Jota - Richarlison
    Aguero - Mitrovic

    Ryan - AWB - Bamba - Kamara

    - Got Bamba instead of Peltier because he's likelier to start more games, and I want a 100% nailed backup in case Mendy gets benched.
    - Went for PvA because of his excitement factor - having PvA in your team and watching him playing as a winger is very satisfying.
    - I plan to WC after GW 4, so that explains the B. Silva punt.
    - Upgraded my 4M goalie to Ryan to give me more options in goal.

Like it quite a lot 🙂 Agree with the PVA and B. Silva stuff, good keepers, solid backline, lovely midfield and forwards.

Sit back and enjoy the rest of the friendlies now 😆

Mitrovic and Jota the only 2 I don't feel 100% confident on - I don't know enough about them

Cheers, I'm quite confident with Mitrovic but not 100% on Jota. Doesn't seem like there's a better midfield option at 6.5 though.
Another option is King up front in a 3-4-3. What do you think is better?

Personally I'd be inclined to go King because I know what he's capable of. Jota feels like the player I'd bring in on an early WC if he starts well or on the back of a stellar pre-season

I prefer King's CAR whu EVE che to Mitro's CRY tot BUR bri. Like the B. Silva punt. Given the WC plans, have you considered Mane and 6.5 to Sanchez + 4.5/5.5 ?

      1. stat
        8 years, 18 days ago

I'll keep Mitrovic because I think he'll have a very high goal involvement at Fulham, but I think I'll take your advice and get King over Jota though.

I'd rather not do Mane + 6.5 to Sanchez + 5.5 because there's no 5.5 that I'm confident with starting every week.

I agree with the goal involvement, however in a long run. But King instead of Jota sound good.

If playing as striker and on set pieces Sanchez can outscore Mane and is a good placeholder for Hazard GW 3 for that Chelsea run.

Like the team as a whole tho.

Will Bernd Leno be Arsenal’s number 1.. Is it worth the risk at 5.0, I’m going with it so I can afford Bernardo
