Any chance of a chill pill with regards the emojis on the FFS twitter ticker?

    About to have a seizure.....

Targeting a new audience probably, most of us young lot use emoji's all the time 😉 🙂 😉 🙂

Those tweets remind me of the kind of MSN Messenger usernames people at school (and myself tbh) used to have when we were 12-13 years old. Young people above 14 dont use emojis like that. The twitter guy is out of touch and over the top.

To anyone wanting to make early transfers.. Just hold off, calm down and wait a few weeks. You can't decide if a player is worth it based on one week of football.

Worst thing you can do is chase last week's points

      • 14 Years

      The sentiment is correct.

However, don’t wait a few weeks. You can only roll one transfer over

For the sake of an early hit I can keep touch with early leader in ml by goin gunarsson and Coleman to Shaw and nerves!
      What do you think

Coleman is a great pick, you'll regret this in the coming weeks.

I was searching for news on Richalisons "injury" and the guy on the BBC wrote... "Richarlison's injury can't be too bad as he's walking freely away from the bench",

Now, I'm no doctor and it was probably cramp but I've got a personal caveat about players looking seemingly none the worse for wear after feeling a twinge in their calf. I remember years ago Jonny Evans trotting off Old Trafford for no apparent reason and costing me a clean sheet. It looked totally innocuous so I kept him for the next week...and the next... and the next before finally getting rid. He finally reappeared three weeks later.

Wish I had read this at the time...

"The length of time needed for healing a calf strain depends on the severity of the injury. A typical grade I calf strain will heal in 7 to 10 days, a grade II injury within about 4 to 6 weeks, and a grade III calf strain within about 3 months".

All I'm saying is hold those bets just now until he's confirmed OK.

I'm worried too. Expecially when I see that 20'000 coaches are less worried than us and already bought him. If only people let us wait and see more >

The kicker for me was him standing up getting interviewed for 5 mins receiving the MOTM award on Sky, showing no visible signs of discomfort, and the interviewer not thinking to even ask about his 'injury'. A bit later on Silva gets interviewed, a large part of the discussion centres around Richarlison, and again, no mention whatsoever of the injury. I think he's OK.

Yeah, you're probably right and I'll likely end up taking the risk - however small - to avoid the price rise.

early in the match Richarlison got a heavy kick on the back of his lower calf/top achilies. It must have just cramped up as he did a lot of sprinting.

You may be right, but take comfort that example was about Jonny Evans who is continually plagued with injuries.

He doesn't play very deep, he is on set pieces and Wolves are an attacking team. I don't see a 5.0 or less midfielder with higher potential. I went for Ralls myself and wanted to save my transfer but considering this swap now.

He’s had a good record. That’s for sure. But the fact he’s using words like “expert” and “masterclass” and charging people on the back of that kind of grinds my gears.

The sample size is too small for fpl to ever be considered an expert.

Of course on my whatsapp group I’ll use words like me being an expert. Purely to wind up my pals. Not to market myself

There is a guy called Peter Blake who is far more of an expert. His average finishing posistions are not as good. However, everything he does is explained with fascinating statistical analysis. Some of it quite ground breaking. This to me is more of an expert than someone who just makes a few off the cuff hunches and has had a few good finishing posistions.

Troy Deeney has lost a stone in weight and is clearly just a early season roll of the dice like any cheap forward. They can only be judged over 5-6 games periods.

I went with Benteke, others with Mitrovoc or King. Know one knows but all look nailed.

Benteke, Mitro and King are all much better than Deeney. He had 5 goals 2 assists last year

As a AWB starter as much as I feel a little smug. If I had had a better option to replace him in my XI I wouldnt have played him. I dont think AWB benchers should beat themselves up about it.

Exact same 6 as me, but with Kun as (vc).

I wanted Mendy for the no-show, but happy for others to play. Robbo can equal AWB's points, and if any of the others are benched I get Hughes, not AWB.

AWB first sub with Mendy and Robertson to play.

I still want Mendy to play. The last thing we need is our premium city defender to become a transfer issue. He could almost match AWB points wise and we don’t wanna be using that transfer.

        Contemplating the following:

      Or save FT?

Chasing last week’s points is generally seen as a flawed strategy, BUT...

Sometimes a player goes on a streak or has a break out season - you need to jump on these bandwagons early enough to keep up.

I think though 90 mins is too soon to make a clear judgement on who those players are going to be.

Best advice is keep reading the site and see what others are saying and doing.

I appreciate the great advice! I'm usually great at doing just this, but this year I tried a different strategy of starting with a cheap team with money in the bank (except for Salah and Aguero just in case they have massive weeks).

I had a terrible season last year, so let's see how we go this year.

This is not top10k, as such a thing does'nt really exist in gw1.

The top10k, in this instance, refers to the id's og 1-10.000.

But im guessing that the players in this bracket might actually be better than the early top10k. Only the crazy fpl-veterans tend to be crazy enough to Get those low ID's

    Kneejerk triggered

    Cairney>Neves
    Boly>Shaw
    -4

Had to take the hit as wont able to afford this after the rises.

Had Neves in my team as 5th mid from the start then convinced myself that the new signings would be a threat so swapped to Cairney last minute.

Shaw seems like a cheap way into the Utd Def, and looks like could bring goals. And there’s me promising myself no hits this season! I’ll never learn.

How long before Shaw is dropped?

Think Neves as 5th Mid (cover the Bilva rotate and Richarlison injury risk) is ok as he looks good on the set-pieces.

Watched Fulham on MOTD and they need a few more games to gel so Cairney likely to sit deeper for a bit I think.

I benched him because I've gone 5 premium defs. Other 4 (VVD, Robertson, Rudiger, Davies) looked better on paper. And I didn't want to bench Mitrovic (who should have scored maybe twice or atleast once yesterday).

Is Jota-> Richarlison too knee jerky? The doubts I had have been quelled and we know he has the ability and fixtures.

Richarlison was always the better pick. I've said it so many times that he's underpriced this season. Bet if he was already at Everton when the prices were rolled out, he would have been atleast 7.5m.

On Jota, think he did fine. Got you an assist on Day 1, not too bad for 6.5m. Give him another game or two and then make a decision.

I would rather seek expert advice from a manager who has won FPL once as opposed to one who applies consistent pressure to the lower insignificant milestones and achieves nothing.

It's genuinely baffling how Jay and co are charging for their advice (only to do the opposite transfers of their own advice), and how unfortunately some of the innocent FFS community have paid for it (who are regretting it already).

Giving these sort of people publicity by allowing them to appear on shows, scoutcast etc. is only going to con more people out of their money.

It's sad to see. I used to value this site for its honesty. That has appeared to be gone all in the space of one summer.

And I hope this post doesn't get deleted, it's just an opinion.

Those con artists should honestly receive no exposure on FFS features like ScoutCast, Scout Picks and whatever the "Ask the Pros" section is called. Im glad I didnt pay for membership this season.. Pretty laughable that there is a guy on the scoutcast without a top 100k finish as well.. (if comments above on this page are true)

It's a brand now it's gone a bit 'Kardashian' all style no substance, playing to the gallery a bit.

Charging for advice videos containing advice you clearly aren't taking yourself is embarrassing.

Won't be paying for membership next season, just need to find the best free alternative for comparing stats

It could probably be classified as an actual scam in many countries. I know that institutions like banks have stricter rules but if a financial advisor gives advice to some clients that he wouldnt follow himself then that is illegal. That is basically what Jay is doing.

Who is it you're worried about?

Could you email me to let me know instead of doing it here? Happy to hear the general stuff but for specifics let's talk directly

I agree 100% I paid for it one year a few years ago now.
I regretted it effected my enjoyment of the game.
I was bamboozled by stats I did not need. And tables that were extremely hard to read and follow.
(design was not clear to follow at a glance)
A lot of it seemed to be stats for the sake of stats.
I realised if I was clever enough I could find sites that give me simple info for free.
ESPN used to do heat maps for example.

Whoscored.com does the heat maps now

            Example wolves v everton:
            https://www.whoscored.com/Matches/1284750/Live/England-Premier-League-2018-2019-Wolverhampton-Wanderers-Everton

PS: I am sure Micky Harte has a lot of them... although it would be harder to see if he narrows the pitch like in healy park 😀

No one will beat Dublin .... your B team would beat every county in Ireland

Unfortunately I think you are right, not good for the game, when there is no one near them.
But I would be chuffed with four in a row.
Would be going mad at five in a row that is what all dubs supporters are dreaming of already!
After that I kinda hope they slow down a bit it will only encourage splitting Dublin in two.
Five years time Kerry should be back.

I’ve paid for the membership once, but didn’t get full utilisation out of the tools it gives you.

Paying for tools to help you analyse is one thing, but a vid telling you exactly what to do is quite another for me.

I paid last year first time ever and I thought it was pretty cheap.. I didn’t pay this year as I’m pretty average at this game and just come here for a laugh as I assume most of us do ... so why all the drama??? 🙂

It’s a service, same as this site it’s up to the consumer if they want to pay for it

YouTubers, social media it’s just a thing these days.

Well said, Mr Forehead. Succinctly put. Tricky one though - we all want this site to be successful, it’s been good to us, but don’t want some ‘orrible commercial giant. With excessive emojis.

Can you message me directly about the people who we are giving publicity that you think are conning users by charging? Genuinely interested and will look into it

It could pay off but Salah gets an extra point per goal and potential CS point which is doubled. Just more value
