Do Mane owners think he will be consistent this year? I always find when I select mane, he always seems to let me down.. I know he started very well but will he keep it up.. Can also be a reasonably fiery character. Maybe Klopp will get the absolute best out of him this year..

He was pretty consistent last season when he was available to play wasn't he? An average of over 5 ppg is good.

Considering how attacking the Liverpool front 3 are picking two from Salah, Mané and Firmino is a pretty good way to go. I think Mané always starts when fit and we all know how dangerous he can be. If he were to get anywhere near 3,000 minutes then he can break the 200 point barrier hands down.

I had him in from the start with the intention of him being a short to medium term option due to the opening fixtures and reports of him looking lively in pre-season.

I'll hold him till the points dry up or someone around that price range become more appealing. Could easily make some profit on him and if he continues to rise he could be awkward to bring back in if I let him go.

Mendy vs Aguero captaincy (assuming both play minimum 60 min)

Mendy to concede and no goal/ass: 2p
    Aguero no goal/ass: 2p

    Mendy clean sheet: 6p
    Aguero 1 goal or 1 ass: 5-6p (+ bonus)

    Mendy clean sheet + goal/ass: 9-12p (+ bonus)
    Aguero 2 goals/1 goal + 1 ass: 9-10p (+ bonus)

Aguero hattrick + full bonus: 17 points

Yeah I'm waiting on the analysis? Also Mendy goal + assist + clean sheet + full bonus = 18 pt. More or less likely than Aguero hatrick?

What are you trying to show?
As always captain whoever you think will score the most points this week.
if you consistently think Mendy will score more points than Aguero then I would suggest that you also upgrade a cheap defender to Walker and get Vardy/Lacazette/Firmino instead.

I did similar analysis elsewhere and whittled it down to needing to have confidence in Aguero scoring two goals minimum to make him a better captain choice than Mendy. Given minutes are in question, I'd be leaning slightly towards Mendy as both the slightly better option and the clear differential pick.

The question really is; will Aguero score a brace and collect full bonus or not?
If you think so - captain him. If you don't then Mendy or Salah is probably a better option.

      C) I'm giving him this week. Not enough info to gauge potential at the moment, especially in light of KDB injury. Another poor week tho, and he could be out as part of a 2 or 3 transfer combo in GW3. Recommend sit tight for now.

Not necessarily. Man City could quite easily win their game by 4-5 goals, and Bilva could well be involved in 2-3 of those.

Liverpool certainly won't win by that scoreline. Salah's max contribution is probably two goals.

      I call it 50/50.

Jesus came off the bench last week so he could start this week. As we've seen from last year Pep LOVES rotating Jesus and Aguero. Plus, Aguero's performance was quite mediocre last week so there is a significant chance he will start on the bench or get subbed off at 60 min.

There isn't a significant chance he will start on the bench, imo.
Pretty sure the stats show that he doesn't rotate them that much.

Aguero is by far the better captaincy choice, if he plays. That's undesputable.

His goals per gamr, his record against small teams, his record at home, etc etc - They're all way better than Salah.

However he's a big rotation risk. It comes down to if you think he'll get good enough game time. If not, then it's Salah. If yes, it's Aguero

I went triple Palace defence for GW1 as only Liverpool kept more clean sheets in the last 9 games last season than Palace did. Roy is notoriously good at organising his teams defensively and even though Palace conceded 10+ shots against Fulham, not a single one of those was a “big chance” so they’re clearly still good defensively so far this season. While I don’t expect them to keep a clean sheet against Liverpool (although it is possible) I think Huddersfield, who conceded 3 big chances against Chelsea are far easier to score against and far more likely of the two teams to receive a battering. Aguero usually starts and is great at home for City... but he’s also very explosive so could even grab a goal or two with a 20 minute cameo (not ideal but takes away ‘some’ of the risk of blanking). Personally I think Aguero will start and confident in that... give him an hour or more against HUD and I reckon he’ll outscore Salah this week against Palace.

I'm 80% going for Aguero because I like to choose my team and captain based on fixture strength and he has the best fixture.
The only thing swaying me towards Salah is that he plays Monday - I love a Monday night captain.
There is no right or wrong answer, they are both great captaincy options and will probably end up scoring similarly anyway.

Sterling. Good chance of 1 pt for clean sheet, +1 pt per goal compared to Aguero, chance of an assist. Same is true for Salah.

When you're captaining a forward you're betting on him scoring a brace. Or the only goal of the game. Otherwise no baps.

Do folks think shaw might actually go on to play a good few games for Utd this year? Valencia injured (and 33) and Young is also 33 now... can’t see 33 year olds managing more than 20-25 games max

Tough call... lots of talk that Zouma & Mina could start for Everton so playing Keane might actually be better as he shouldn’t come off the bench for a 1pointer. I also think brighton will score v Utd

For anyone playing fpl draft- if you propose a waiver for a player who’s already been taken in that window (ie someone picked him earlier before your turn), does it default to the next waiver request in your list IN THAT ROUND?

Or does it move on to the next person in the league?

I.e if you have 2nd pick in your league, and try to waiver in Kepa, but 1st pick gets him first, does it default to your 2nd waiver request, or move to player 3?

Why drop King, Bournemouth have great fixtures.
If Wilson registers better stats again I would consider King to Wilson (a transfer I may make in the coming week(s).
I also like Cairney to Fraser - although you will bench him every game it does give you a decent sub for when Aguero is rested.

The only reason I wouldn't double up on the defence is due to Mane and Salah.
If you don't have Salah I would definitely double on the defence, TAA and Robertson look great value.
If they got rid of the 3 player rule I would probably triple up on the Liverpool defence + Mendy & AWB

If you prefer a Spurs player long term despite the easier City fixtures then I would suggest you do it this week so that you get the benefit of the Fulham fixture.
