I prefer Mane to Haz and Liverpool have Brighton at home

Unless you are using that as a differential (seems early for differential to me)

I had Alexis and went for Haz as a bit of a differential, yeah, I don't think I'll lose out on too much having Salah, and can always go back.

That bench will soon need looking at. Is is a wildcard? If so I would have a re-think.

Nah, it's my starter team. The 4.0 is Peltier but seems he's been written off, and Wan just had to get banned this week too ffs...

Fair enough. You still have a wildcard to sort things out if it goes wrong. I also have Haz and Mad in my midfield so I like that.

I am confused by those playing the wildcard. There seems to be a lack of players with great fixtures in the next few weeks and just a plan to create the best template team of players who have scored well in weeks 1 and 2.

I would want to see more Kane/Aub/D Silva/Trippier/Davies/Alli/Lukaku/Pogba/Monreal/Bellarin/Morata - all of which look as though they could do well in the next few weeks.

    1. TRIPOS TOPPER
      • 8 Years

I think people are doing it to catch price rises, in fear that if thy leave it too late they will not be able to afford the "template" team

      1. Demel
        • 14 Years
        8 years, 3 days ago

Meh. If the players I have listed start doing well they will be the template, rise in price and they will be early adapters and benefit the most.

I think it’s not the best time, but there’s Chelsea, Arsenal and Man city all with decent fixtures. Also Bournemouth, Leicester and CP have promising fixtures. Not an awful time, but not the best.

Really? Look at Man City, Chelsea, Everton, Arsenal, CP...

Setting your team for gw1 you should have quite few and using FT or even taking a hit getting 3 more by now so no need for WC. So when the fix turns your WC should give you a way to off load and get all with best fix and with best form.

    Hi All,
Finally got the posting issue fixed with the help of FFS so this is my first post.

    0.4 ITB
    1 FT

    Patricio (Hamer)
    Shaw Robbo S.Cook (Tomkins, AWB)
    Salah, Mane, Richarlison, Fraser, (Stephens)
    Aguero, Aubameyang, Wilson

I panicked about the King price drop and switched him to Wilson in a hurry, but I regret doing that as I think Josh will come good vs Everton.

My main problem with this team is the presence of Shaw (due to injury and ManU defence in general), and the absence of Mendy, who I believe is a must have.

Could you give me some pointers on what you would do in this situation? Is Robbo>Mendy a good shout?

    Sorry for the essay

if you ask me, you can save the transfer. no pressing issues at all I think. I would play Tomkins instead of shaw anyway this week and then see after that. I agree with you on Mendy but wouldn't transfer out robbo, bring him in next week with 2FT

Is there anyone here who can give advice for first time Bundesliga managers?
I am being advised to pick Caiuby and Delaney...but that's just like picking Kante and Jorginho right?

Also being asked to pick a lot of expensive CBs, as opposed to this article.

I'm sure this has been posted already but - On whether he will play two up front (Lacazette and Aubameyang):
'At the moment, no. At the moment, I think we need to have the control with the possession, with the positioning on the pitch, with more players inside. And after this possession, to do the attacking moments and defending moments with this balance.
But, it is one possibility to continue in our progress and in one moment to try also to play with two scorers. In the last match of the pre-season, against Lazio, I did it with Lacazette and Nketiah. But also, this position also for the players, they know that in one moment we can do that. But at the moment, no.'

Looks like my risky Firmino -> Lacazette transfer was worth waiting on

no not directly, did talk about using 2 formations though:

'We are working on different situations tactically.
In the first we are playing with four at the back, then we have two and one, and one and two. With two and one, it is like a 4-2-3-1 and one, two, is for a 4-1-4-1 or a 4-3-3.
We have players who train in this system. The moment on the pitch is different. If we need to improve in this mobility, the quality is very important, but also how the player is moving on the pitch.
I think with two systems, we can continue to progress and think about winning the next match.'

Formation basically depends on whether he decides to play Torreira I guess

He is a good pick (see my above post about picking players that haven't just had a great couple of weeks). For me it may well be Auba & Mikhi or Morata & 9.5m mid (perhaps Spurs or David Silva).

I am definitely picking Auba there.

After this week I am looking at Mané(lei, tot) & 4.5(Kamara) to Morata(BOU, CAR) & 4.5(or even 5.0) if you have balls to drop Mané.

Looks good. I own Hazard over Mane though. I would be happy to double up over those fixtures but will struggle for an entry route.

Not sure Giroud has a sniff under Sarri.

Would you consider wildcarding from my current team, top of page 5, to this?

    Hennesey (Hamer)
    Mendy Robbo Alonso (Cook, Wan-Bissaka)
    Mane Richarlison Hazard Fraser (Stephens)
    Aguero Lukaku Ings

I'd back them to score vs United tbh, they look atrocious.

Spurs could be tough but they've conceded in both games so far...

Looking to create a set and forget team.
What goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders, attackers do you reckon will score the most points overall this season?
Im not talking about the current template team but the overall most fpl point scoring 15 player team for 2018/19.

Getting tempted by the following switch next week....

    Salah - Jimenez - Luiz > DSilva - Morata - Alonso (-4)

(I could wait a week for the Luiz>Alonso switch)

Like a bit of an Arse at the back 😉

Which mid-priced/budget striker should I be looking to bring in and why?

Have watched both Bournemouth games. Not particularly enjoying King's role as a second striker dropping deep into midfield (I also own Firmino rip), with Wilson as the most advanced and by virtue of that most likely to score goals.

    Options seem to be:
    - Zaha
    - Arnie
    - Mitrovic
    - Wilson
    - Iheanacho
    - Ings

Jimenez & the Watford pair trump Ilhaenacho.

Mitrovic seems to be the focal point of Fulham's attacks, think I'm getting him. I also have Arnie, West Ham not convincing yet but he can still pop up now and then, and it's just a matter of time when hammers find their feet. Love to watch him play.

wildcard has been activated - couple of questions
Is hamer worth bringing in - do we think he'll be a long term starter? I like keepers that can rotate
Also is it worth bringing in Wilson for Mitrovic? points wise who will score more over the season?

I'd say keeping his place is precarious, but no other 4m keeper is close to starting. I have him for benchfodder; I wouldn't rely on him playing.

Cheap strikers are not expected to sustain a good scoring record. If you buy them to start you'll be hopping on and off bandwagons through the season.
