From last page, is there a difference between Free Hit and WC?

I seem to have inadvertently used Free Hit but wanted to use my WC and have made all my transfers and caught price rises on Free Hit. Am I goosed now and it will just return to my old team?

    Reasons to TC Aguero

This goes against everything in my FPL handbook (don't we all have one??), but fences are uncomfortable; I'll put myself on the line here.

    1. It's Aguero. The man can score 5 in a single PL game. Oh yes, he's scored 5 against Newcastle before!

    2. He's sharp and looking fitter than he has done for a while. Even Pep has a Kun man crush this season.

    3. He scored 3 plus an assist in City's last home game. That doesn't mean he won't score another hattrick for the rest of the season, it means he's capable of doing it.

    4. City dropped points away against Wolves. Pep will have them in "no mercy" Karate Kid mode.

    5. It's the international break after GW4. Players get injured, form alters. Why put off til tomorrow what you can do today?

Let's just ignore the DGW's shall we? Embrace the Aguero love and all bask in his 75 points this week 🙂

Hazard scores then sits back and does some fancy footwork for the rest of the game though. Aguero goes for the jugular!

Maybe the mavericks are still in bed.

    8. Ruth_NZ

      6. The TC is overrated, just as the BB is. The chip doesn't give you a 3 x captain score, it gives you a 1 x captain score. The other 2 x captain score you already have anyway.

So you are talking about one player's single score in 1 week. Two fixtures are better than one but if the one fixture is better than either of the two then that gap narrows. And DGWs come at a time when rotation can reduce gametime quite easily anyway.

      7. We probably have one too many chips for the DGW series really. Using the BB or TC earlier in the season can streamline your management of things after GW30 and create less compromise to the remaining chips. Personally I have long advocated an early BB but if you want to hold that back for a DGW then an early TC in a super-strong SGW fixture is by no means a wrong idea and isn't likely to have enormous downside even if it fails.

      1. Ruth_NZ
        • 11 Years
        8 years, 3 hours ago

        PS

The average TC score of the top 12 teams last season was 4.75 points (tripled instead of doubled). The best score achieved was 11 (tripled) and that was actually achieved by that manager playing it in a SGW.

That average is freakish low, of course. The season before it was 13.25 (tripled). But that gives an idea of the true value of the chip anyway.

        1. Zilla
          • 8 Years
          8 years, 3 hours ago

Good points, I want to do it but if it backfires then you know.. Even if the TC during the DGW fails then I won't be alone. Are you TCing him?

Maybe last season was a one off?

          1. Ruth_NZ
            • 11 Years
            8 years, 3 hours ago

Last season clearly was a one-off because a whole host of TCs went down on Kane sometime around GW23 when Spurs had an unexpected DGW.

No, I won't be doing it. I played my BB in GW1 and having that out of the way leaves me all the freedom I want after GW30. But if I was holding my BB back I'd be more inclined to consider it.

        Hey Ruth, how you doing?

I activated TC last night and feel no differently about it this morning. I've only ever used it in a DGW scenario, Lukaku in GW31, I think? And Aguero last year. Half the time, I'm worried about rotation at that time.

I think we miss many decent opportunities during the season because the theoretical optimum time to play the chip is a DGW.

I'm attending a mate's wedding tomorrow, so it'll be a bit of banter either way in any case.

Cheers.. no, I got the idiotic move out of my system in GW1 with Sanchez. Was burnt by him last season, twice actually, too. He seems to be my kryptonite.

6* Not necessarily. I would advocate using the TC on a differential in a DGW allowing for a 3 x captain score in a DGW as your ceiling.

        1. Warmsy
          • 10 Years
          8 years, 2 hours ago

Well 3 x captain score - 2 x their captain score. Potential higher ceiling but lower floor of course.

If you think selecting a different captain for TC than you would for the regular captaincy is beneficial then either you are selecting captains very badly or you have lost the plot, mate. Sorry and all that.

I’ve got 10 going today. Don’t remember a Saturday like it. If it hits the fan only Mkhi can pull me out of it tomorrow! Anyone got 11 playing today?

I had the same last week, my OR rocketed on Saturday before falling back to lower than I started after Sunday/Mondays games.

Who is the best £5.4 MID in your opinion?

    1. ☻ Jon Snow ☻

      Neves

    2. Jafalad

Jorginho. Very forward on the heat map supported by a high number of passes in the final third. Far more than the likes of Neves for instance.

Also on pens once Hazard is hauled off after 60 minutes. Only 5.1 too.

Haz won’t be off at 60 min, what? Jorginho will probably only deliver rarely. He’s the assisting-the-assister type.

      Neves or Moutinho.

Slim pickings in that range, you really need to go to £6.6+ to get a really decent starter in that bracket.

Which is why playing 4 in defence with The Holy Trinity (Alonso, Robertson and Mendy) looks like the way to go.

    RMWC final draft

    Foster/Fab
    Mendy, Alonso, TAA, Wan-B, Bednarek
    Salah, Hazard, Walcott, Mkhi, Fraser
    Agüero, Wilson, Ings

Do you think Foster/TAA/Salah/Ings will outscore Ederson/Robertson/Mane/Zaha?

        No, don’t think they will
TAA will probably be rotated before Robbo,
Ings somehow has a blister injury and might have his minutes managed

I'm between Mitrovic and Fraser (the 2nd part of the equation will be a bench-fodder) for my WC team. If I pick Fraser, I can go from him to Richarlison in one transfer once he is back.

What would be your reasons to go one or another?

    Thnx

Mitrovic looks nailed in an attacking team and the focal point of attacks.
Fraser looks pretty nailed too and creating heaps of chances in the 10 position.
Mitrovic edges it for me as Bournemouth look too varied in their points production, thinking that the defenders, forwards and Brooks can take points off Fraser.

Probably Robertson. Depends what the budget is to replace him and if you’d be looking at TAA or it’s because you want another teams coverage.

I'm leaning towards Mané myself. It would be to generate some money to upgrade Luiz to Alonso.
The alternative would be to move Robertson to Alonso and play Luiz-Alonso double for the upcoming fixtures, but it doesn't feel right.

      none, robbo 3 cs, bonus,assist
      mane 3 goals, bonus to
would only look at moving them when they stop performing
      but thats only my opinion
