It’s that time of the week again when we give you the chance to put your questions to our panel of Fantasy Premier League managers.

However, the talking points shift a little bit this time as we head into the first international break of the season.

We’ve assembled another panel of three Fantasy managers this week and will be bringing you a different set for each Gameweek over the course of the season. They are here to answer any questions you might have relating to the international break.

You can find out what their answers are Monday.

Who’s on the panel this week?

James Egersdorff – You can’t get much more experienced than this man when it comes to FPL. After yet another season inside the top 5,000 managers in 2017/18, James now sits top of the Fantasy Football Scout ‘Hall of Fame’.

Tom from Who Got the Assist? – One half of one of the fastest growing FPL podcasts of recent times.

Holly Shand – Founder of the popular Fantasy Football Community website and recent video star for Official FPL.

Why does it always have to be Mane?

What about Salah or Milner + £7.4m

        I’ve thought about this.
I’m saving this week but 2FT’s for wk 6 and this could be my move:-
        Salah,Ings > Milner,Kane

Far too many CDM options at Liverpool. Don't go near Milner.

Have another week to access. Could also be Gray.
Or Salah,Zaha > 7.6,Kane if Zaha is still out and keep Ings

Gray didn't impress yesterday and has been susceptible to rotation in the past.

It's the time of the season I usually WC so I'm going Mané + 3m

Allows me to get in Kane + Aguero + Mane + Hazard. Salah is a 3.2m too I can spend squeezing every inch of my budget.

          Hennessey, Hamer
          Robbo, Alonso, Mendy (bennet wan)
Mane, Hazard, Milner, Fraser, Top Billings

Milner and Fraser positions will no doubt change. Bournemouth really impressed me and go on a run of great fixtures. Milner is a blatant wagon but penos and seems to be cementing a spot.

I could downgrade Robbo/Mendy depending on the n cat few weeks for TAA or similar

                Mane + Hazard + Richarlison + 5.6m

                Not bad I don’t think.

Ownership is a small part factor but notice the first key point stats.

I’ve done Salah to Hazard last week which worked out well. But on another day v Leicester he could have scored 2/3

Agreed. Ownership works both ways. It's that age old Ownership vs. Differentials nonsense. Both are factors but neither should trump your predictions for point. And my goal is not OR (it's great to get 10k) but to win Jackpot leagues.

Is it crazy to do Salah and Zaha to Hazard and Vardy (-4)? Have Mane, robertson and Pedro also

    1. Limbo
      • 15 Years

I think there's better value than Vardy and think that Zaha will outscore him.

I definitely don't think Zaha Is outscoring Vardy. Not even close.

            9/7*100 = 128.6

Vardy has to outscore Zaha by 28.6% to be better value.

There you go, just compared them.

What I meant is you cant compare by points alone. It needs to be relational to the price

Well, actually there is minimum price starting at 4.5... I would like to ditch many of my players and have only 11-13 player squad. So the only relevant thing is 2 million price difference 😉

          • 15 Years

Sorry - I meant/should have said points for pounds. Was inferring value. It's the £2m that you could upgrade a 4 to a 6 in defence that'll earn the points.

            In short:

            or
            Zaha + Robbo

What are everyone's thought on Doherty for Wolves? Not returned any significant points yet but at 4.4 he passed the eye test on match of the day. Very far forward at times and two shots in the box. Worthy of investment?

Can't complain really mate. Started off quite well this season, usually I'm a slow starter but bring it back later so I'm hoping for a good season, gotta stop making this type of error though.

I only have Mkhi left today so we'll do well or fail together.

After gw1 I was 250k but now I'm at 900k after a couple of dud weeks. Captained Mendy over Aguero gw2 and had Auba for 3 weeks, Sigurdsson over Richarlison until gw3 when I moved for him and had a 7 point swing. Hopefully things will start going my way soon!

Yep my feelings exactly. 4.4, essentially OOP and getting into the box regularly.

Also helps that Wolves have conceded the least big chances.

        Ticks all the boxes.

Either of these worth going early for? Price movement issues...

    A) TAA & Arnie -> Alonso & Ings (-4)
    B) TAA, Walcott & Arnie -> Alonso, Fraser & Mitrovic (-8)

    Ederson
    Mendy, ASmith, Tomkins
    Salah, Hazard, Mkhi, Walcott

what are bilva owners doing? He looked great when he came on last night and far more creative than Jesus, sat in the dilva role. I wonder whether he’s had his rest and starts the next couple.

I have managed to miss all his points by benching except GW1 (I had/have a strong team) so feel I jinxed him by not getting rid of Richarlison and getting in Pedo so I had the easy choice of starting him. I’m worried about this injury but I guess we wait. Hodgson didn’t sound optimistic and he’s a doubt for the next game despite the IB. But Hodgson is dour at the best of times.

The usual “have to get Salah out because he blanked” for Hazard... even though Hazard was 5 mins from blanking.

But it’s true that Haz undoubtedly has better fixtures right now so the consensus seems to be bring in Haz for Salah. Then scramble without a WC to get Salah back.

Not sure Cardiff will give up too much. They can defend if nothing else. Hazard usually has 2 ,3, or 4 players round him as soon as he gets the ball. Looks good on paper but he's been fortunate with a non pen and a last minute goal so far...

Anyone who sees fantasy football (or anything else for that matter) in B&W isn't going to score well. Essential is lazy code word for looking at price + fixtures + talent + form. When those align, then maybe for a while they become very very attractive. But form, fixtures and price all vary. Then you're paying a lot for a risk on talent I guess.

There’s a definite bias due to history I don’t deny but Salah’s underlying stats are also strong... Hazard is a famous troll. People on here sounded like they fully expected a hat trick from him yesterday and for BOU to be rolled over but he was 5 mins from a blank against a defensively suspect team.

Would hardly say he’s “under-performing” he’s had 3 nice returns - 8, 9, 8 and the one time he blanks everyone goes mental. Wouldn’t put it past him to find form and do well against Liv’s tougher opponents

Underperforming compared to his price vs. mane and Hazard’s returns. I’m not convinced either way. Dropped him in WC, may well buy back at 12.9 if he drops at all.

When Fulham made the signing of Mitrovic permanent this summer, one of my good friends from university - coincidentally a Villa fan - stated that he felt that the Serbian was no better than Rondon and that'd we'd overpaid by £10m. He felt that Mitro has already proven he can't do it in the Prem and that we'd wasted our money.

I would point out that your lot look shaky at the back and you haven’t played anybody decent (Arsenal aren’t decent) and Liverpool scored quite a few past City in two competitions last season and looked like they would at City in the PL before that Mane sending off changed the game.

So i've been happy with how it's going but now have a few issues idk whether to WC or not.

    Kepa 4.0
David Luiz, Mendy, Roberston, Daniels, WanB
Salah, D. Silva, Mkhi, Walcott, 4.5
    Aguero, Firmino, 4.5

So to me Alonso looks pretty much essential, I want to get him in now.

Is Daniels Currently at risk? I read that the new guy who played this week is going to be starting from now on.

Walcott injury record is not good and his injuries always seem to be extreme. Gutted because I chose to bring him in over Pedro last week.

I am also unhappy with Firmino's output for his price and his upcoming fixtures are getting tougher. Thinking to get in Calum Wilson in his place as he looks pretty good on paper and has some attractive fixtures coming up.

    Thoughts?

Tricky one. A lot depends on the extent of Walcott injury. You could definitely manage with a transfer or two but if you're set on getting Alonso in and Firm out, it's probably WC time (if Theo is out)

Tomkins vs. Wan. Could change. Wan was pretty bad this week.
Zaha – Groin strain. Slight doubt.
Walcott – Rib injury. Major doubt.

        Thank you
Isn't tomkins vs Kelly? I thought he was just injured though. And palace aren't secure at the back without him so his absence really dents pva appeal.

Is Zaha a small doubt? Hodgson is claiming he might not make the HUD game after the IB.

FWIW I took it from this site who are saying he is a doubt despite the IB. It sounds like a bit more than a simple injury.

Any news on Zaha yet? Yesterday someone said Mkhi might not play could that be? Billing would come from my bench

Somebody somewhere is always claiming a well owned player might not play, it’s trolling and speculation.

No news on Zaha but Hodgson was quoted saying he’s a doubt for the next game after the IB.

Mane/Haz (I did it before this GW so not a knee jerk opinion)

      Salah, Hazard

Haz definitely for fixtures. Mane seems to have the form but not the underlying stats vs Salah. If you are still going to have a WC to get Salah back of you need to, I’d go Mane and Haz.

Today is a big day for Emery. He needs to win this type of away game if he wants to show Arsenal have improved under him. Last season:

At home against teams outside the Top 6: P15, W15, D0, L0 - that is title winning form
Away from home against teams outside the Top 6: P15, W4, D3, L7 - that is not good enough

If there was a game for Torreira to show he is a hard man then today is it.

Well done on calling Zaha yesterday, Vin.

Never believe Hodgson on Zaha. Hodgson knows he can't win without Zaha. He is clueless and Palace are a one-man team. He will pretend Zaha is fit just to stop the opposition getting a lift.

Surprised that he would lie. Lesson learnt.

Yeah, great call on Zaha (although was too late for me to do anything). Delivered in a good way.

As an Arsenal fan I think it’s tough for Emery. He’s hobbled by years of decay under Wenger, players who have never developed like Bellerín, lazy players now on big contracts such as Ozil, inconsistent purchases such as Lacazette and Auba when both would like the centre spot and no money to buy anybody. The club were talking 50 mill budget pre season. Maybe that’s a low ball amount so that they didn’t get quoted high prices like when Sir Chips came out and said we had a “huge war chest” but I think it’s true if one goes by Kroenke’s US teams. 50 million just about gets you an international defender now and not the wages. He’s in a tough spot because the squad is disjointed and not good enough.

Time to drop Salah for Hazard for a few games? ...

I think Haz outscores him even though I’m not a fan. So long as you can get Salah back in (on a WC presumably)
