Can Watford’s form and Fantasy appeal last much longer?

Watford have been the surprise package in the Premier League this season, level on points with table-topping Liverpool and causing Fantasy managers to investigate their assets.

The Hornets have won all of their matches so far and have held onto their 100% record longer than defending champions Manchester City.

Their most recent result was the most impressive of the lot, a 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur at Vicarage Road in Gameweek 4.

Lose or even draw with Spurs and very few would have batted an eyelid. But emerging from that match as come-from-behind winners put Watford decisively in the spotlight.

Fantasy managers the world over have been asking whether Javi Gracia’s in-form side can sustain their impressive displays.

It’s a vitally important question as many consider their Wildcard squads. Overlook the Hornets in the event that they go on to do great things this season and you could be left behind. Alternatively, overinvest when they are but a flash in the pan and the same could happen.

We’ve gone over the data for the first four matches of the season to see just how serious we should take the Hornets’ buzz.

So Sane leaving the Germany squad was for the birth of his daughter after all. Thats good news.

Yeah . i hope whatever is going on with him at city can sort it's self out. Pep not one to hold a grudge as we have witnessed with Yaya. It's always sad when you see such talent not developing and getting game time.

      agreed

hopefully this spurs (see what I did there) him to make a comeback for city - he was a joy to watch last year (and did great for me in FPL)

I wonder is that why he hasnt been playing for city ?

Just like David Silva last year?

I have him in fpl draft... should I keep him I wonder....

I think there has got to be more than that. There's talk he has a bad attitude i don't know it thats true. Been overlooked for the world cup might have dinted his confidence..If anybody can fix it Pep's the man for the job ..Hopefully in a few months he's flying down the wing for us all to enjoy 🙂

He was overlooked for the world cup because of an attitude problem too. Never understood why people root for people with poor attitude to succeed. If hes a bit of a twat then hes already gotten far more than he deserves by being a top footballer.

It's still quite sad to witness people wasting their talent. Especially someone as talented as Sane.

I hope this is a blip, but it's clearly been a problem for a while now.

His attitude isn't great, but by no means was he dropped from the World Cup because of attitude. He simply hasn't performed for Germany, and he missed out on The Confederations Cup due to an operation.

For some reason I've always wanted to see Balotelli reach his potential. I know he's done incredibly childish, stupid and unsportsmanlike things, but remember this guy even suffers racial abuse from his own Italian fans. I just wish he could rise up to shut them all up.

Salahs to Hazard would be perfect if Salah blanks next game and his price drops too. This means after Hazards good fixtures you don't need to hear your team up to get him back. Thoughts ?

really don't think they are - think mkhi is the only one that is at risk

moura - in the form of his career at spurs and spurs best performing player this season

pedro - 3 goals in 4, willian looked poor v bournemouth, pedro scored soon as he came on

I was confused by this for a second. I bought pedro at 6.6 so i thought, I'd just switch Maddison back to pedro and job done. Then it said -0.1 over and I couldnt work out why. It was because when I had Maddison in the team i was gaining the 0.1 from the pedro price rise so when I put pedro back in, I obv dont have that price rise anymore, hence I couldnt afford it. Anyways, confusion over 😀 I can afford Pedro if I downgrade Billing to Hojbjerg.

Zaha replacements if he is out for 4 weeks:
The merits of finding a replacement if required should not be underestimated. If Zaha is ruled on Friday, making hasty decision in less than 24 hours could be potentially season defining for those who wildcarded already as you would be holding this replacement for the next few weeks.
So looking at the possible Zaha replacement options in terms of price, downgrade, upgrade, like for like, 4 players in each category:
    1. Downgrade and save 1 to 1.5m –Jiménez, Ings, Wilson, Deeney
    2. Like for like, (

The correct time to buy Watford assets was pre-GW1 (which is what I have done with Holebas and Gray). They had three winnable fixtures yet all of you said Watford suck and went with the same Watford-less template. I was ridiculed when I asked if Gray or Deeney are the better choice. People said "Zaha".

A week or two ago I was ridiculed for owning Sterling, who is now in a lot of conversations. Last week I was ridiculed for Alexis.

Just saying...get a grip, people. Think about who'll perform next week and not who did last week.

This is an old article. You'll be better off going to the most recent one to get more replies.

Fwiw I'm debating the same issue, Pedro might get benched but potentially has better chances of returns. Leicester have better fixtures over the next 6 or 7 weeks but are less convincing attacking-wise.

Is David Silva still an excellent midfield option?
