Hazard and Lukaku in fine form ahead of Gameweek 5

Eden Hazard and Romelu Lukaku continued their excellent scoring records for Belgium ahead of Gameweek 5.

The pair could be the subject of transfer activity in the coming days after impressing on international duty once again.

We’ve got more information on the pair as well as all the Fantasy talking points to come out of Friday’s UEFA Nations League and international friendlies in this latest Scout Notes piece.

SCOTLAND 0-4 BELGIUM

Andrew Robertson (£6.1m) – 90 minutes
Kevin McDonald (£4.5m) – 53 minutes
Stuart Armstrong (£5.3m)- 53 minutes
Ryan Fraser (£5.6m) – 90 minutes
Robert Snodgrass (£5.5m) – 33 minutes

Vincent Kompany (£5.4m) – 45 minutes
Jan Vertonghen – (£6.0m) – 90 minutes
Moussa Dembélé (£4.9m) – 85 minutes
Eden Hazard (£10.7m) – 56 minutes
Romelu Lukaku (£11.0m) – 45 minutes

There was a heavy Premier League presence in this match although it was very one-sided in terms of the result. Not surprisingly, there were further international goals for Eden Hazard, who also picked up an assist, and striker Romelu Lukaku. Both key players were taken off after 56 and 45 minutes respectively, presumably with an eye for them to be fresher for Tuesday’s competitive meeting with Iceland.

Lukaku has now scored 18 goals in his last 16 appearances for Belgium while Hazard has been involved in 27 in his last 26 (13 goals, 14 assists). The Manchester United striker appears to be in excellent form, which bodes well for his FPL prospects as we discovered last week. Meanwhile, Hazard is very much in the captaincy conversation for Gameweek 5.

Andrew Robertson, Jan Vertonghen and Ryan Fraser were the only FPL assets to register 90 minutes at Hampden Park. Vincent Kompany, Kevin McDonald, Stuart Armstrong and Mousa Dembélé were all substituted, with Robert Snodgrass featuring from Scotland’s bench.

Toby Alderweireld (£5.9m), Leander Dendoncker (£4.4m), Callum Paterson (£5.4m) and Scott McTominay (£4.4m) were all unused substitutes for their respective sides.

LITHUANIA 0-1 SERBIA

Nemanja Matic (£5.0m) – 82 minutes
Aleksandar Mitrovic (£6.7m) – 90 minutes

Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic continued his fine start to the season by contributing to Serbia’s success against Lithuania on Friday. It was him who won the first-half penalty for his country in their Nations League opener, although it was former Southampton man Dusan Tadic who dispatched it before missing another in the second period.

ITALY 1-1 POLAND

Davide Zappacosta (£5.2m) – 90 minutes
Jorginho (£5.1m) – 90 minutes

Two of Chelsea’s Italian trio were involved for the Azzurri on Friday. Jorginho netted a second-half penalty to secure a Nations League point for Roberto Mancini’s men, reminding us that he is the likely dispatcher for Chelsea when Eden Hazard is not around.

Davide Zappacosta made his first start of his campaign and also played 90 minutes while Emerson Palmieri (£5.3m) was not used in the matchday squad, despite impressing with his initiation song.

TURKEY 1-2 RUSSIA

Caglar Söyüncü (£5.0m) – 90 minutes
Cenk Tosun (£7.0m) – 90 minutes

There was a first appearance of the season for Leicester’s new signing Caglar Söyüncü, who recorded 90 minutes for his country. Everton striker Cenk Tosun also played for the whole of the competitive match. Neither player was involved in any of the goals.

ALBANIA 1-0 ISRAEL

Beram Kayal (£4.5m) – 72 minutes

Brighton’s Beram Kayal managed 72 minutes in this Nations League match for his country, although he does not appear to be in the first-team picture at the Amex Stadium.

SOUTH KOREA 2-0 COSTA RICA

Ki Sung-yeung (£4.9m) – 45 minutes
Son Heung-min (£8.3m) – 83 minutes

It was an eventful night for Son Heung-min as South Korea played their first friendly since winning gold at the Asian Games. The Spurs man hit the post with a first-half penalty but Lee Jae-Sung Il netted the rebound awarding him a ‘Fantasy assist’. Later in the match, Son also provided an assist for Nam Tae-Hee’s goal.

Newcastle United midfielder Ki Sung-yeung played the first 45 minutes of this friendly, and it was he who played the ball into the box from deep that led to Korea’s penalty.

He won't touch Moura if that's what you thinking. If anyone at risk prob Alli more so. Moura is by miles their best player so far.

No chance. Alli is nailed. He shouldnt be but he is somehow. Same thing last season when Son was playing superbly, still got rotated while Alli played every game.

Maybe Moura, being more high profile than Son gets an exception?

    Current gw5 lineup:
    Fab
    Mendy, Alonso, Robbo, W-B
    Salah, Fraser, Mkhi
    Firmino, Zaha, Aguero
Bench: Foster | Gudmundsson, Bednarek, Gunnarsson
    1FT; 0.6itb

Zaha coming back staves off the WC, but still...

    1) Gud > Maddison
    2) Gud > Schürrle
    3) Gud, Firm > Hazard, fodder (-4) -- admittedly, kind of like this one
