Best way to get Hazard into my Sun Dream Team?

    Hart
    Robbo Alonso Mendy
    Arnautovic Zaha Pedro Mane
    Aguero Salah Aubameyang

    A: Arnautovic to Hazard
    Aubameyang to Deeney/Wilson/Mitrovic

    B: Pedro to Hazard
    Aubameyang to Wan Bissaka

    C I’m stuck now.

Salah seems out-of-sorts for the moment, though he keeps shooting and getting in dangerous positions. Mane is in great form currently.

My feeling is in the short-term Robbo+Mane will outscore TAA+Salah, maybe in the long-run also if Salah doesn't find his old form back.

    De Gea
    Alonso Robertson AWB Mendy

Got 2FTs and don't have a whole lot I want to change.
    Thoughts on these?

    A. Maverick? Salah, Kamara > Richarlison, Lukaku
    B. Simple? Bilva > Richarlison
    C. Boring? Chalobah > Billing

Leaning towards A but this lead to a benching dilemma - 1 bench spot for Pereira/Fraser/Bilva/Richarlison

I am rather religious about not taking hits. I am semi religious about having 3 players from top 3 or 4 teams - the semireligious thing is under a big review right now 🙂

So naturally, i have chelsea's Azpilicueta (who is in to get some assists im sure) and super returning Alonso. And because Hazard had vacations and Pedro/Willian were exchangeable, I fitted the third spit with always playing, asisting and penalty nodded Jorginho.

So this week, I was sure Hazard with penalty duty is a big scorer, but am I ready to make two subs - one is salah out, other is jorginho out, and hazard plus some value chap in? (And ofcourse i have other problems in need of substitution)

I did not do it, because my #nevertakinghits religion, and whataboutism: "what if Cardiff make a succesfull bus parking, and Salah FINALLY delivers last years finishing? The cost of me religious ferver is cca 20 points.

Salah will NEVER be value at 13 millions, even if he scores every second game. Just like Kane will never be value, and probably not even Aguerro when rotations with Jesus kick in. Anything over 10 millions is very, very questionable. Buy we keep ONE of those guys and raise his value with captaincy. And if you have to choose one, you choose a midfield classified forward (additional goal and clean sheet point). Difference between salah and mane was 3.5 mil. They have almost the same underlying stats, while mane had a luckier start. They were both egoistic at 2:0, it was a disgrace to watch. You must pick Mane over Salah, solely because of price difference.

Licking my wounds yesterday, i went salah - hazard with jorginho - maddison/milner. I have two teams, because I'm naughty like that. I paid 10.7 for now 10.8 and rising Hazard, and git rid of 13 mil and falling Salah. Im thinking of wildcarding (Aguerro has to go, Tosun is a no - show, and Vardy, Richarlison are coming back "must haves".

Here, my soul is at peace now. Back to Butty Bach and roast chicken.

I actually read it, but gave me nothing tbh. I agree on some of he points, but stopped reading when I realised you have two teams.

      You have 2 teams.
Hence reduces all your thinking redundant.
You are cheating and anyone can hedge their bets.

      1. Mike Wall
        • Fantasy Football Scout Member

        That's interesting.

I never thought of it as some kind of achievement for prize. I have no hopes what so ever to be the winner out of 5 million teams, as I don't take it at all serious enough. I take it as fun that makes watching the games more entertaining. If somehow I would end up winning, the prize is two "VIP" tickets. Whoa! 🙂

To be considered as cheating, there has to be somebody who is cheated out of something. Who is harmed here?

The reason I use two teams, is a peculiar interest at strategies of such a game - with one team I have cheapest possible subs, to max the value of starting 11 - with the second I have a balanced team wgere all reserves get good points so there are no takinh hit problems.

I was actually thinking about a third team with 5 prime defenders (because they are best value), and having costly 5.0mil attacking subs. I must be a bad person indeed 🙂

        :-)))

Hehe thats a good one! I cannot possibly understand hiw I forgot to mention that the second team (Salah to Hazard and Jorginho to Milner) is actualy my late grandmother's one, and after much deliberation she decided for milner over Maddison, Gross and Pereyra, because she loves his subtle household chores humor.

She found out about it on twitter, another thing I manage for her convenience.

I've been defending Hazard on here since GW2 and still I don't have him, this is because I have Mane/Salah and they have looked so dangerous as well. I'm looking now to keep Salah/Mane and still get Hazard. All I have to is downgrade Robertson to Boly. I appreciate recent posts that argue Aguero/Hazard/Mane/Salah/Mendy/Alonso is too much but hey I'm greedy.

Folk on here have issues with multiple teams.

Mane's underlying stats are not almost the same as Salahs.

        • Fantasy Football Scout Member
        • 6 Years

Yes - we could go on abot what "almost" is. So I'll put it this way:

Do you believe that Salah at 13 is better value than Mane between 9.5 and 9.9 - or do you think it's essential to have them both?

        1. Eddie
          • Fantasy Football Scout Member
          • 11 Years
          5 years, 7 months ago

Not essential to have either imo, I think their relative value is probably more or less the same, Salah may edge it, but when captaincy is considered I think Salah is the better purchase. Of course it depends what you can do with the additional funds if you get Mane. I can build a good team with Salah in it so it seems foolish not to have him.

Another thing I learned this week - it matters a lot to put a random Palace defender on second bench spot and Bournemouth defender on third - when it is quite obvious that palace could go 0:0 and BOU - LEI will surely see some goals.

Because it is not for granted that three premium defenders, one of them Mendy, "must start". That sloppiness costed me 8 points.
