The Gameweek 6 captain debate looks set to be the most difficult of the season so far.

The top three candidates according to our poll all have favourable fixtures and can also boast impressive underlying numbers.

While there are alternative options worth considering, this week we seek to answer which one of Mohamed Salah, Eden Hazard and Sergio Aguero should get your armband.

Captain Poll

Gameweek 6 could prove an incredibly dramatic one as the most-sold player is the current captain poll leader.

Mohamed Salah (£13.0m) has already been transferred out by 219,000+ Fantasy managers but has a 30% share of our vote (at time of writing).

The Liverpool man has blanked for two weeks in a row, and five midfield options have registered more points than him so far this season.

However, it would seem that those who have voted in our poll are keeping faith in Salah based on some impressive underlying statistics that we’ll touch on below. A home fixture against Southampton is hugely appealing, too.

Currently occupying second place is last week’s hat-trick hero Eden Hazard (£10.9m), who has been backed by roughly 22% of voters.

The Chelsea man is now the only FPL asset to register returns in every match so far, despite not even starting the first two Gameweeks.

His next opponent West Ham are still without a clean sheet, and their defensive frailties should prove easy for Hazard to exploit.

Last week’s runaway captain poll winner Sergio Aguero (£11.4m) has to settle for third place this time around with 18% of the votes.

Large numbers of his owners will admit to being disappointed that the Manchester City forward only registered two assists against Fulham and no goals. That may be one of the reasons why more are trusting Salah and Hazard.

Also, the Argentinian picked up a knock in that match but returned to action for a substitute’s appearance against Lyon in the Champions League midweek.

The fact that he did not start on Wednesday night suggests that, at the very least, he will lead the line on Saturday when the defending champions visit a vulnerable Cardiff City side.

Not surprisingly, Fantasy managers are considering Sadio Mané (£10.0m) as the best of the rest, with an 8% share of the vote. The Senegalese midfielder offers a cheaper route into the Liverpool attack than Salah, is in good form and may relish a match against his former employers in Southampton.

Romelu Lukaku (£11.0m) and Aleksandar Mitrovic (£6.8m) both sit in the 3% bracket while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£10.9m), Jamie Vardy (£8.9m), Ryan Fraser (£5.7m). Harry Kane (£12.5m) and Roberto Firmino (£9.4m) are the only other options currently above 1%.

Fab for the save points - plus West Ham might raise their game for a London derby.

I am so so tempted by Pedro > Ramsey.

    Big risk though.

Will probably end up going Maddison instead.

For those on their wildcard this gameweek give us a listen! I talk through my plans and changes being made : http://whogottheassist.com/pod-47-nicks-wildcard/

Big decision now is whether to ditch Mendy and get some Spurs coverage in Trippier.

Next gameweek we have former winner Simon March who we met previously at the Scout get together. It should be a stormer!

Mendy has had knee problems throughout his career.

Even if he’s 50/50, I can’t see Pep taking any risks whatsoever with him, especially with how long he took to come back from his last serious injury.

This week I will be mostly going round to Ryan Frasers mothers with flowers and chocolates in the hope he will forgive me for my sins and will come back home (had a row last week and we broke up).

Actually think Deeney is a good shout. He could bully the Fulham and Arsenal defences

Deffo no way you can squeeze Mitrovic in?

Have £4.9 to spend on a def and noted Lindelof has started the last 2 PL games where my impression is they have looked a bit more solid.

Can’t believe I’m thinking this but is Lindelof a cheap nailed way into Man Utd backline that have decent next 3 fixtures or is Bailly a threat to come in? Note scout article said he looked shaky but could see them keep 2 cleans in next 3? Will prob WC after this. Cheers!

If your bench can handle it, go for it. If you are WC'ing in a couple of weeks anyway its a big upside to this. Then again, you could have a nailed Doherty or Holebas for that price

Think he’s safe for now but 1 bad performance and he could be dropped, not sure what’s going on with Jones this season either.

‪The captain debate is simple to me. I picked my GW6 captain (Salah) before the season started and he’s keeping the arm band. Tempted to triple Captain he’s so due a haul. Aguero VC will score at least but I don’t like injury question marks, a “fit” player is not necessarily a “firing” one. Hazard not even in contention imo. ‬

Hang on, so Aguero isn't firing enough for you? ....Yet Salah is? Salah looks awful.

      Aguero: 3G 4A
      Salah: 2G 2A

That's not a thing. If he's bad at football, he's not due anything.

Both are firing enough, statistically, for me. Salah has just been a bit unlucky. However, Aguero has bigger question marks over fitness and is playing away.

That is too small a sample size to draw any conclusions from anyway.

So, Salah all the way for me.

As a third sub never likely to play,

    Bennett

    Or

    Shane long

Can't have both. Bennett has to be Peltier or Long has to be a striker under 4.8m

What a decision to have to make eh.

Bennett is a decent sub and will score a lot more than Shane long, would need to know who else you are picking in those positions though.

Mamma mia I didn't need that Pedro injury. I've had no success in that position this season. Bring in Richarlison and he gets a red. Bring in Mkhi he gets benched. Bring in Pedro is blanks then gets injured. So, who should I replace him with?

    A. Maddison

    B. Richarlison

If I had a good enough bench, I'd wait until the games have played this weekend. Maddison could be even better with Vardy back and Richarlison of course is an excellent alternative - but with Arsenal it may be tricky.

Hey gang, just after some final thoughts on this soon to be WC team, other than rotating keepers and salahless which I'm not prepared to do for the time being, any other suggestions?

    Ederson
    Robertson, Alonso, AWB
    Salah, hazard, Fraser, Richarlison, Maddison
    Aguero, mitro

    4.0, Jiminez, Doherty, Bennett

Relying on Pedro as my 11th starter as my bench won't start. Should I take a -4 hit to get Fraser (planning to this move next week) or stick with Pedro as he could still score from the bench.
