The Gameweek 6 captain debate looks set to be the most difficult of the season so far.

The top three candidates according to our poll all have favourable fixtures and can also boast impressive underlying numbers.

While there are alternative options worth considering, this week we seek to answer which one of Mohamed Salah, Eden Hazard and Sergio Aguero should get your armband.

Captain Poll

Gameweek 6 could prove an incredibly dramatic one as the most-sold player is the current captain poll leader.

Mohamed Salah (£13.0m) has already been transferred out by 219,000+ Fantasy managers but has a 30% share of our vote (at time of writing).

The Liverpool man has blanked for two weeks in a row, and five midfield options have registered more points than him so far this season.

However, it would seem that those who have voted in our poll are keeping faith in Salah based on some impressive underlying statistics that we’ll touch on below. A home fixture against Southampton is hugely appealing, too.

Currently occupying second place is last week’s hat-trick hero Eden Hazard (£10.9m), who has been backed by roughly 22% of voters.

The Chelsea man is now the only FPL asset to register returns in every match so far, despite not even starting the first two Gameweeks.

His next opponent West Ham are still without a clean sheet, and their defensive frailties should prove easy for Hazard to exploit.

Last week’s runaway captain poll winner Sergio Aguero (£11.4m) has to settle for third place this time around with 18% of the votes.

Large numbers of his owners will admit to being disappointed that the Manchester City forward only registered two assists against Fulham and no goals. That may be one of the reasons why more are trusting Salah and Hazard.

Also, the Argentinian picked up a knock in that match but returned to action for a substitute’s appearance against Lyon in the Champions League midweek.

The fact that he did not start on Wednesday night suggests that, at the very least, he will lead the line on Saturday when the defending champions visit a vulnerable Cardiff City side.

Not surprisingly, Fantasy managers are considering Sadio Mané (£10.0m) as the best of the rest, with an 8% share of the vote. The Senegalese midfielder offers a cheaper route into the Liverpool attack than Salah, is in good form and may relish a match against his former employers in Southampton.

Romelu Lukaku (£11.0m) and Aleksandar Mitrovic (£6.8m) both sit in the 3% bracket while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£10.9m), Jamie Vardy (£8.9m), Ryan Fraser (£5.7m). Harry Kane (£12.5m) and Roberto Firmino (£9.4m) are the only other options currently above 1%.

Three 4.0 defenders is not good for your team balance. Find the 0.2 for Doherty.

Yep. But on WC you sometimes make transfers with a longer view in mind. When KdB returns Silva is not as nailed and may troll owners. Pogba is as nailed as they get.

The FFS projections for Pogba over the short term (6 GW) are also above Silva, and he’s cheaper. Make of that what you will.

The FFS projections last weekend said to captain Hazard.

Maybe it is not as clear cut as it seems.

    mendy - robertson - alonso - pva

Bottomed with this a few pages back.

Anyone who watches Man Utd and Spurs, can you give me the run down on the current status of Shaw and Trippier?

Just eyeing up defenders in case of bad Mendy news. The Shaw funds would be incredibly useful.

Shaw has been amazing every time he’s started. But then Young did a good job last gw and Mou’s got a thing for him. I think they will keep rotating...

I have him when everyone went Bilva, but ultimately they are similar problems in that they return inconsistently and fall into an awkward price point. That said, he is nailed and on pens. He looks a little deep whenever I have seen the highlights.

Not really. Looks like the captaincy will be split so there's a good chance none of them will have an E.O of over 100%. Obviously you want the one you pick to out perform the others.

So many questions like no GW before...

Sure Starters for me (8 or 9 players):
    Begovic
Robertson, AWB or PvA (maybe both)
    Hazard, Mané, Richarlison
    Aguero, Zaha

    Sure on the bench:
    Patricio, Stephens (2 players)

Don't know how to deal with these players:
    Tarkowski, Holebas, Fraser, Wilson

    a) Can BUR get the CS against BOU and bench Fraser & Wilson -> play Tarkowski?
    b) Will BOU score against BUR - > play Fraser?
    c) Will BOU score against BUR - > play Wilson?
    d) Will BOU score against BUR - > play Fraser & Wilson?
    e) Play both defenders of CRY and bench Holebas or minimize the risk and play one + Holebas?

My current thought is to bench Tarkowski and PvA and play Wilson, Fraser + Holebas...
    Are u with me?

you might be right, but City aint in that great of a form so I dont think it will be murder, maybe more of a slap around. 1-3

Aguero brace gives you 13 points, anything more than that is a cherry on the top 🙂

            Never specified 'today' 🙂

He said the same thing before the Chelsea game when asked if they were going to park the bus.

Yeah but then they got wrecked and lost to Arsenal before that as well, so he might change his mind this game. Wouldn’t jump to conclusions unless he says something now

Don't own Salah and not even bothered to buy him.

Piss poor returns for a 13m player.

Can see a few good options all with good reasons to pick them. He's definitely one of them.

B - More nailedness, Ederson for clean sheets, Bournemouth players have great fixtures coming up and it seems Zaha has a nice run too.

Why not A? Auba not firing (although did well in Europe), Pedro injured, Hughes is ok i guess (but prefer others) and Brighton will concede goals ( next two games are spurs and Man City).

Think this is it. Love or hate?

    Hennesey Hamer

    Alonso Holebas AWB Doherty Bennett

    Salah Mane Hazard Fraser Maddison

    Aguero Zaha Success

Eyeing Maddison to Richarlison next week perhaps.

Then potentially ride Fraser train for a bit then swap him for Cairney and upgrade Success to Jimenez.

Yeah, I can have Mendy and downgrade Maddison. I know I'll want Richarlison though at some point.

Hi Gents! I have been thinking to WC all week and I already have a draft set up.

Do let me know if its a good idea for me to WC this week..

My team is NOT A DISASTER, but I would like to build on the foundations that has worked for me and remove the deadwood (As well as beat the price rises)

I have done 3 transfers this GW for a -4, CURRENTLY MY TEAM LOOKS LIKE THIS:

    Foster ⦁ Fabianski
Wan Bissaka ⦁ Alonso ⦁ Mendy ⦁ Robbo ⦁ Peltier
Hazard ⦁ Neves ⦁ Bernardo Silva ⦁ Richarlison ⦁ Mane
    Aguero ⦁ Wilson ⦁ Mitrovich

OR: 100k last week, fell to 400k this week.
    OP: 307

    I feel so medium 🙂

This is my WC team if I do it:

    Henessey ⦁ Joe Hart
Wan Bissaka ⦁ Alonso ⦁ TAA ⦁ Doherty ⦁ Bennett
    Hazard ⦁ Salah ⦁ Richarlison ⦁ Fraser ⦁ Ward
    Aguero ⦁ Vardy ⦁ Mitrovich

I know the change is minimal, but I just believe these sets of players will score well in the next 4-5 gameweeks at least. Like I said, the team is not a disaster.

What are your thoughts? And who would you bring in on a wildcard?

    Cheers! 🙂

Pedro to Fraser for free makes sense right?

Give me money itb to potentially do mane to hazard the following weeks or I could just downgrade salah to hazard but I like to keep a few options open.

I also have wally stinking my team out but I guess him to Richarlison is perhaps to sideways for the game week and that fire can wait

Sketching together a bit of an alternative WC for next GW - thoughts? Playing 4-3-3

    Patricio (4.0)
Tripper - Alonso - Mendy - Doherty (WB)
Sterling - Hazard - Pogba (Billing - Stephens)
    Kane - Mitro - King

If you use the comparison tool on Aguero vs Hazard for the last 3 weeks, you'll find it much harder to captain Aguero.
