Sergio Aguero (£11.4m) is expected to be the favourite for the captain debate in Gameweek 7.

We’ve started our poll to ascertain what the Fantasy Football Scout community are thinking for the next round of matches.

With Chelsea and Liverpool going head-to-head on Saturday afternoon, options such as Mohamed Salah (£12.9m) and Eden Hazard (£11.0m) are unlikely to score well in the upcoming vote.

That may mean that Harry Kane (£12.4m) and Romelu Lukaku (£11.1m) receive more attention than usual.

Both strikers have favourable fixtures, against Huddersfield and West Ham respectively, and have found some form in recent weeks.

Differentials may well be found at Goodison Park with Richarlison (£6.6m) the likeliest to take advantage of Fulham’s defensive frailties.

However, Everton’s back-line has been almost as poor as the Cottagers’ in 2018/19, opening the door for Aleksandar Mitrovic (£7.0m) to get a look in too.

Make sure you vote in the poll and watch our latest video analysing the Gameweek 7 captaincy debate.

I see lots of people looking to bench Robbo instead of Alonso when Pool have a better chance of a CS than Chelsea. How many free kicks do you think Alonso is going to take?

Alonso the better option in my option. Better chance of attacking returns and at home.

Doubt he will do much attacking vs Pool. Still a good pick i guess.

I really think Sterling is a captain shout differential this week !

Good form, good fixture and Pep very rarely rotates Raheem.
Trans in this week for Salah, captain. then swap back in two weeks 🙂

Really stuck what to do this week. I have 2 FTs and £0m in bank. Still have wildcard.

    Ederson Steele
Robertson Alonso Boly Wan Bis Mendy
    Salah Mane Maddison Fraser Gunnarson
    Aguero Zaha Mitro

I have narrowed it down to either-

Mendy to Yedlin and Mane to Haz/Sterling

Salah and Zaha to Kane and Rich. Leaves me enough to do Mane to Haz the week after

Was considering wildcarding in GW9, if I go option 1, I can probably avoid it, with option 2, it makes it harder as I dont like the structure

    Any thoughts?

    1. Pep says

Depends on the rest of your team. Duffy isn't the best 4.5m available in my opinion. I think Sterling is a decent shout for Brighton but not so confident in him against Pool the following week

I'd leave Vardy this week. Wilson has a good fixture. Newcastle is not Vardy's strongest type of fixture.

    1 ft and £1.8 itb

    Patrício
    Alonso, Mendy, Robertson
    Salah, Hazard, Maddison, Fraser
    Agüero, Mitrovic, Ings

    (Hamer, Bennett, Wan-Bissaka, Billing)

£0.3 short of Billing > Richarlison so I'm thinking of rolling my transfer.

Also, I'm using Wan-Bissaka and Bennett to cover Mendy so I see no reason to sell as I bought him at £6.0

Only casuals would get Trippier. Rotation risk.

"The threat of Serge Aurier (£5.8m) starting in his stead on any given week remains too off-putting for some, however, particularly in a season where rotation is wreaking havoc elsewhere. That Trippier looked unconvincing from a defensive point of view against Brighton is also a slight concern, with Aurier (Inter’s winning goal apart) putting in a decent shift in Milan last week.

Fantasy bosses need only look to the opposite flank for discouragement, where Ben Davies (£5.7m) and Danny Rose (£5.9m) have started three matches apiece in the league this season."

I disagree. Yes, he's a rotation risk, but your absolutism with 'Only casuals would get Trippier' is misguided.

There are many good reasons to get Trippier, particularly if on a WC and there are strong supporting options for the week that he might miss out

Considering Docherty, Laporte, Walker, Trippier, Rose?

Doherty and Laporte are both great options. Trippier is fine if you think he's nailed on and don't need £ elsewhere

Am I mad considering captaining Richarlison over Aguero!? My gut is just telling me he's going to outperform Sergio this week

Everton are just a little unconvincing, but i think 60 minute cameo from Aguero could be devastating

People say this all the time, but he hasn’t really done anything amazing bar the Huddersfield game. I think he needs KDB to play more consistently

    Robertson

I have Salah out for 2 weeks and then will bring back. If you are looking permanently I would say no but temp move yes unless already own Salah so have Liverpool cover.

Already done Mendy to Doherty, are these two transfers worth -8? :

Salah to Knockaert, Kamara to Kane

Really finding the value in Kane for the next two fixtures, two hat-tricks against Hudd and Car a possibility. Then Knockaert being the enabler - sub this week for a team of Fab ; Wan B, Doherty, Alonso, Shaw ; Haz, Fraser, Lingard ; Kane, Kun, Mitro. Then Knockaert will come in for an amazing 9 game run for Brighton.

Any feedback will be much appreciated

I wouldn't do it personally. I understand the temptation with the fixtures but just feels like it could just as easily back fire as pay off

Minus 8 is too much, I have a similar idea but didn’t take a hit. If you do it you must Captain Kane.

      Thanks for the feedback guys.

I do find this forum a bit risk averse though, surely if more points can be made from taking hits then you're better off in the long run? +1 goal for Kane over Salah this weekend will pay for the hit if I captain him (I will if I go ahead with it), then Kane v cardiff instead of Salah v MCI will surely give better chance of points, and moving forwards Knockaert over Kamara is a no brainer.

I know in an ideal world these transfers would be done one per week, but at certain times that's not a luxury people have.

Or do you guys think that it's realistic that Salah can match Kane in the next two GW's?

The Kane move is worth it imo, but Knockaert seems a bit more redundant. If you don’t have Fraser, he is the best option at that price, but I would recommend Gündogan after him. Seems knee-jerky after last week’s points, but his point were going to come eventually with the way he’s been playing

Trade Mendy who I've had since the start to Tripper for a straight swap?
Or save my free transfer and use Doherty as the replacement, in doing so keep the value of (6.3) of Mendy rather than trading for 6.1, cheers

Keep, Doherty and Wolves are decent and Mendy could be back soon. If injury news comes out that it is worse than bruising then pull the trigger.

Can we start a petition to revert the wording of the captain poll back to yesteryear? Asking ‘who will be your captain’ in no way reflects who is the best captaincy option for each individual gameweek. I don’t own Kane, however, I still think he is a brilliant shout for the next 2 gameweeks. He is not in my squad and therefore I cannot vote for him.

Furthermore the new voting discriminates against low-ownership players such as Sterling. He is a great shout for the armband, but won’t get any votes using the current system as he is far too much of a differential to receive votes.

We should be able to vote for the BEST captain irrespective of whether they feature in our FPL squads, and surely this gives a much better perspective on the candidates

Yeah, I'll back that. Kanté has 19.7% ownership but you wouldn't cap him with Sterling on your team.

Yes, agreed. The current wordings will be ridiculous in GW 8, where Hazard will be the top choice ahead of Kane, which surely does not reflect the true situation.

I do actually agree with this, however, it seemed most people just picked who they were making captain in the old polls despite the wording of the question and lots of people actually wanted to know who the most popular choice was that people were actually picking.

Ignoring the headline, can’t help but think Kane is worth -4 for Aguero as a short term captaincy punt.
    Kane (3G/1A/536 mins)
    Vs: hud CAR whm
    GC: 39

    Aguero (4G/4A/446 mins)
    Vs: BRI liv BUR
    GC: 23

Aguero is surely vital for the Hoff (a) early fixture on Tuesday and his minutes are clearly being managed. Don’t really want to captain him again with this in mind and no stellar options otherwise this GW.

Kane, meanwhile, looked sharper and said as much, while Poch confirmed he will play him. Less traveling over the four fixtures too, including Barca.

    Sense or nonsense?!

These are choices that make or break your season. Sensible thinking mate. Kane could easy explode in those fixtures why Kun has a barren spell.
