It’s that time of the week again when we give Fantasy Premier League managers the chance to put questions to our panel.

If you have a burning query as you prepare for Gameweek 8 then we are here to help.

We’ve assembled another panel of three top-drawer Fantasy managers this week and will be bringing you a different trio for each Gameweek over the course of the season.

You can find out what their answers are on Tuesday.

Who’s on the panel this week?

Lejuan Basson – A South African-based elite FPL manager, who finished 24th in the world in 2017/18.

Ben Crabtree – The overall winner of FPL in 2016/17 and proud Evertonian who refuses to field Liverpool players!

WGTA (Tom) – One half of the tremendously popular Who Got the Assist? podcast and Twitter account.

Don't like that at all. Zaha and Richarlison are both the main men for their respective teams. Granted Jimenez is but Son is a bit of a lottery.

Fantasy draft: Felipe Anderson or Yarmolenko? And why?

      I like this.
Not sure on either in terms of who is the better pick - I'm sure somebody who is on point with underlying stats could advise. However west ham are definitely showing some form and at 6.8 offer a differential potential to midfielders in that price range, I.e. Maddison, Richarlison.

Anderson made a mockery of Holgate and Kenny a few weeks back, and showed his class again against Utd. A gifted footballer and has been on my watchlist. Less so with Yarmolenko from what I've seen. A talent for sure, but don't think he'll be as consistent.

Blank or double game week ... when you want a specific team for just one week and you want your old team back the week after

    2. L'Aeroplanino
      • 9 Years
      7 years, 6 months ago

blank gw in between DGWs for sure. It allows you to be more flexible and aggressive, but may depend on the fixture around that time.

I remember burning my FH chip last season at the spurs DGW around new year and bring in the likes of Arnie and Son, they didn't do anything that week but then their hauls in the next few GWs basically killed my season.

I was thinking of using this week due to tough opposition, however, you are better off waiting until second half of season for blank weeks or if half your team have minor injuries

    Ryan
    Alonso • Trippier • Doherty
    Salah • Hazard • D.Silva • Richarlison • Fraser
    Aguero • Mitrovic

    (Button / Awb / Dummet / Kamara)
    2 fts & 0.2m

D.Silva ➡️ Maddison with one free?

Could use the other transfer for Aguero to Kane but that will go down to the wire.

    Appreciate your thoughts! 🙂

While owners are being patient, cheaper players are scoring equivalent, or in a lot of cases, more points than him.

He’s got a particularly serious case of good player/bad FPL player syndrome.

This. Not only is Bilva a bad FPL player, a classic coverage pick, but he also has the disadvantage of restricting a city slot.

You really do get the worst of both worlds with Bilva.

What a difference a tenacious MF makes.

Everton looked a different side from the one that played West Ham a few weeks ago, especially in the second half. Goodison park was deathly quiet for the Hammers game on the 16th so it was great to hear it roar on Saturday. Those selling Richarlison should be very wary IMO - his direct runs and pace won us a huge amount of corners and could well have been rewarded. He was a threat throughout even when running off a knock from the around the 40 min mark. We looked stronger throughout in a more physical and determined set up that had Davies (who played pretty badly tbh) partner Geye and much stronger performances from Keane and Zouma. I think Digne should still interest FFS members - providing a lot of assist potential and showing real class down the left.

Yeah. Not good. I didn't pick an Everton Defender which says a lot. Only had Richarlison to start season from Everton.

The question for me now is if we can take a good performance against a Fulham side who looked pretty meek once they conceded, to a Leicester team who look very sharp. Bernard was the other interesting attacking prospect. Would love to see him start. His pace and quick feet could open up a lot of chances for Cenk/Rich/Siggy.

Lucky for me I have box seats this weekend at the King Power so can enjoy the match without sitting on my hands.

Was it more Everton, or Fulham do you think?

Fulham home is a lovely fixture for every team this year. 11 goals conceded in 4 away games, and counting.

And to think people are selling Salah with them just around the corner, plus the Huddersfield & Cardiff games!

      1. Pacer.
        • 11 Years

But they're selling him for Kane. Given the form of both and fixtures, should Kane owners really care? Probably not.

Considering what could happen in the coming games is exactly the point - Huddersfield, Cardiff, Fulham in his next 5 and people are selling. Huddersfield, Cardiff, Fulham!

I think that makes it even crazier. Kane may not even start v Cardiff. I personally don’t look at Salah & Kane’s next 5 fixtures & see Kane outscoring Salah... could be wrong of course.

Fulham looked pretty good first half. Made us work hard. But were out of ideas once we got some momentum. As we search for value teams like Everton, Wolves, Leicester and Burnley are critical to midseaon consistency. I don't think I'll be getting Digne in (December is brutal for Everton) but could well feature after Christmas.

        1. Maximus Bonimus Pointimus
          • 16 Years
          7 years, 6 months ago

Yeah I’d be worried about drawing any conclusions from the game other than Fulham really struggle away from home, and Everton on their day can score goals. Neither of which is new information, but I’m holding Theo for another week or two anyways.

Still early days for Silva & he will hopefully keep improving them with time.

    5. Eze Really?
      • 11 Years
      7 years, 6 months ago

      So true.
Any Everton defender is a poison chalice IMO. Could have been 3.2.
Richa is class though and can be a season keeper.
Last year I was hating our team. This year we have something to shout about; albeit quiet shouts!

      1. Limbo
        • 15 Years

Yeah. I'm only saying what I saw. I don't think that Digne's points will come from CS's. He's got goals and assists in his locker.

It's been a rocky road for us in the last 18 months. And Fat Sam's reign was an absolute disaster when you want to build some confidence at the club. Shocking football. Hope his time serves as a warning to Moshiri that out of touch management styles in the premier league leave a nasty smell that lingers.

    A. Aguero (liv) + Mendy (liv) to Kane (CAR) + Rose (CAR)

    B. Pedro (sou) + King (wat) to Maddison (cry) + Arnautovic (bha)

Brighton are decent at home but they're hardly Liverpool. Spurs defence has been leaky. Leicester concede for fun. Not a great run but not atrocious either. I'll be getting him in on my WC this week most likely.

More seriously I would bring in TAA and bench him this week.

Yep TAA would have been my first choice but can see West Ham improving now.

Ive been totally destroyed in two MLs this GW by people wildcarding. So many potential big scorers before the GW delivered; Kane, Trippier, Doherty, Sterling.. Lost at least 40 points (except if Fraser gets a brace), even though I have a mostly template team.

The temptation for WC is so strong, but is this the ideal time? The picture is not quite clear on Spurs' form. Lpool sees a shift in fixtures soon. Etc. Any advise you would share?

    Team btw:
    Pat / Foster
    Alonso ROb Chilwell Bennet AWB
    Salah Dilva Rich Fraser Stephens
    Kun Mitro Ings

I try to follow some basic points.
I never look further than 5 weeks away.
I WC early so I get the prices benefit.
I avoid anyone over 6 mil being a serious rotation risk.
I look at points history and not what maybe possible. (4 defenders maybe)
I always have bench cover. (Pep rotation)
I look at high owned players that can hurt me if I don't have them.

      Keepers fine
      Defenders template
      Mids make s[pace for Haz
      Forwards template

      Never chase the ace!

I think it's okay to look long term when picking rotating defenders. No point getting 5 defenders with great fixtures and then 6 weeks later they all have poor fixtures

I hear you but how many times have we heard the tales of rotation woe. We just had the Pool Chelsea game with Robbo and Alonso. Mendy went missing so template went balls up.
I have changed defenders with my FT's this year more than ever.

        Thanks. All very good points.
I already missed out on 0.4 price rices, but didnt have the nerve to push the WC button Saturday night...

So you wouldnt care to bring Kane in for Cardiff at home?

Spread your bets. Siggy had a good game, but missed a penalty and has nowhere near the form he showed for Swansea. Plenty on offer around the £6.5-7m mark.

    Foster (Hart)
    Robertson - Doherty - AWB
    Salah - Hazard - Richarlison - Frazer - (Stephens)
    Aguero - Zaha - Arnie

Struggling with 3 what looks like permanent injuries, one of them being Mendy? What would you guys do with just the 1 transfer?

    Thoughts on wildcarding from this:

    Patricio Foster
    Robertson Alonso Shaw Walker AWB
    Hazard Moura BSilva Mane Stephens
    Aguero Wilson Mitrovic

    To this:

    Foster Gamer
    Alonso Shaw AWB Bennett Duffy
    Hazard Mane Richarlison Maddison Stephens
    Aguero Kane Wilson

??? Feel like I've got too much funds locked up in defence and need to move it up the field (namely to Kane...)

Don’t sell Mitrovic...and don’t get Shaw and Wilson...I would probably choose either Kane or Aguero, and upgrade elsewhere to get more balanced team.

      No WC!
      Slowly do

      B silva to Maddison
      Wilson to Arnie

      If works out cash wise?

    Ofc saving FT this week.
How would you get Salah and Arnie for GW9? 1.0ITB

    Hart/Ryan
    Alonso/Trip/TAA/Doherty/WB
    Hazard/Richa/Maddison/Fraser/Hojberg
    Kane/Kun/Mitro

Been thinking Trip Fraser Kane to Salah (c) Maguire Arnie but it could also backfire in GW9 and means no place for City def

Thinking about wildcarding this week and pretty dead set on going with Hart in goal. Who should I pair with him? I'm thinking about Ryan. Long run of good fixtures coming up. Brighton fairly decent in defence. Going to get myself Doherty so not keen on a Wolves defensive double up.

I honestly think both are viable - 11.0m for players that can score, assist, CS, baps in pretty much any fixture. Their fixtures are great now too after City at the weekend.

Who would you play in gw8 from. Thoughts & thanks in advance:
    (a) Bennett v Palace away or
    (b) WB v Wolves home (also playing Hennessey) or
    (c) Wilson v Watford away (also playing Fraser)

This is how I'm currently lining up - I'm playing Wilson

    Hennessey (McCarthy)
    Alonso, Trippier, Holebas (WB, Bennett)
    Salah, Hazard, Maddison, Fraser (Billing)
    Kane (c), Mitrovic, Wilson
