Harry Kane (£12.5m) has swooped into the Fantasy Premier League captain conversation in a big way after his brace at Huddersfield in Gameweek 7.

You can now vote in our latest Captain Poll below or in the sidebar.

With Cardiff coming up next for Tottenham’s star man, interest in handing him the armband is expected to be very high.

Crucially, it’s another Gameweek where some of the usual suspects cancel each other out with Liverpool hosting Manchester City.

That means options such as Sergio Aguero (£11.4m) and Mohamed Salah (£13.0m) will be much harder for Fantasy managers to consider.

Even Raheem Sterling (£11.0m), who many have considered signing after consistent and reliable form, is unlikely to be popular this week considering the nature of his Gameweek 8 fixture.

Eden Hazard (£11.1m) is expected to be the biggest challenger for Kane as he faces a trip to Southampton. The Belgian scored his sixth goal of the season against Liverpool but has only found the net once away from home in 2018/19.

Differential options this week could be Romelu Lukaku (£11.0m), who will be playing against Newcastle, while some might even consider putting the armband on Kieran Trippier (£6.2m).

    Here's my current midfield
    Mane | Hazard | Fraser | Pereyra // Billing
    1FT 1m ITB
What to do with Pereyra? Initially bought him in as a placeholder for Rich, but now he's blanked two GWs and fixtures are taking a turn. Maddison was an option but already have Vardy. Any other decent option within 7.3m?

This week, yes. I brought Kane in for Kun to avoid price rise. Instantly regret it but plan on bringing in sterling or kdb when he's fit.

Using the Free Hit chip this early is FF taboo right? I feel Kane is going to bag at least a brace and am worried about not having him in! I currently sit 4th in my cash mini league and 2 of the 3 teams above me already have him in. It would allow me to also get Laca/Aubameyang in although I do already have Trippier and Moura. I guess there is a risk of them both not starting at the weekend, hopefully we know more after the Champs League tie.

        My current team is:

        Patricio
        Trippier WB Alonso
        Hazard Salah Maddison Moura
        Aguero Wilson Mitrovic

        Hennesey Hojberg Bennett Holebas

A Kane injury midweek would get rid of the headache haha!

Kaneless & Hazardless, out of this lot who would you captain?

Want to really hold my FT so i carry 2 into the IB... Means hiding behind the sofa but so be it!

        Patricio
        Trippier Robbo Alonso
        Sterling Mane Moura Richarlison
        Aguero Mitro Ings

Armband currently on Sterling & VC on Trippier...

          Mendy, Walker, Alonso, Wan-Bisaka, Bennett
Salah, David Silva, Richarlison, Pedro, Stephens
          Aubameyang, Zaha, Ings
2 free transfers this and £0.8m ITB

For me, Salah, Aubameyang, Mendy, Pedro could/should all go. Salvageable with a -4 point hit or time to wild card?! Thanks in advance

Just another 0.6 to drop before hear reaches the price FPL should have valued him at in the first place.

              Some context here:

I'm wanting to swap out Ings for Arnie and the only way to do this, funds-wise, is to also out Fraser, Knock seems like the best option in this respect? I'm saying this and fully anticipating Fraser to haul double figures again tonight...just to spite my decision making process!

Arnie for ings is a good move . That might work out ok for you. knock should get reurns in your home fixtures. Fraser is no beast, sure he'll get points too. But wouldn't expect a landslide difference. ( whilst hoping he'll smash it..being an owner)

Bringing Kane in to (C) worth a -8?

Downgrading Mane and Schulle to 4.5 and 5.0 sub midfielders and upgrading from Wilson to Kane.

          Team will be:

          Emerson
          Walker Robertson Alonso Doherty
          Hazard Maddison Fraser
          Kane (C) Aguero Mitrovic

-8 doesn't make sense to me, esp as also losing out on Mane vs hud/CAR.

I'd be cautious going without Liverpool assets with the approaching fixture swing. Would be quite difficult to get Salah in if he starts firing.

Hi guys, i did 3 transfers (-4) for this week. I did smth that is damn crazy but i love it though. I sold mendy aguero moura --> kane bsilva and tarkowski.

Down side is bsilva got jus 3 pts while tarkowski got injured. Upside is i did capt kane .

              For the upcoming week.

              Patricio
              Alonso trippier wanbissaka holebas
              Mane bsilva hazard maddison
              Kane(C) zaha.

              Subs: begovic wilson neves tarkowski

Am thinking to sell mane after watching the chelsea game however i just got a feeling liv can win manc and the fixtures for liv is nt too bad though.

This week i actually wanted to sell mane and zaha/wilson to laca and a midfielder. Should i?

Need help. If you do a transfer then use your wildcard in same week. Do you still have 1 transfer week after wildcard?

Yes but if you had 2FT you'd only have 1 after wildcarding

Watford upcoming fixtures are still quite good, although struggled recently.. Worried about doing Fraser to Hughes to fund Kane.. Might want Fraser back if I do it

Name 5 youngsters or 1st timers that have impressed you "eye candy" wise so far this year.
Guendouzi Maddison TAA Foden WB Neves Rice are 7 that come to mind.

At a bit of a crossroads here guys, hoping someone could help me out! Gone from 8k OR to 16k this GW, under a bit of pressure in my mini-league.

I've seen a few people mention free hit this week - it's something I've thought about but ultimately it needs to be kept. Looking to get Spurs in and avoid City and Liverpool to then restock later so thinking a Wildcard at GW9 is the way to go.

My team with 1FT and 0.1mITB

                Alisson
                Alonso, Vertonghen, Robertson, Boly, AWB
                Hazard, Mane, BSilva, Jorginho, Maddison
                Zaha, Aguero, Deeney

For one week only to capture Kane vs Cardiff, with wildcard following and a switch back to Aguero:

                A) Aguero and Robertson to Kane and Mee (-4)
                B) Aguero and Mane to Kane and Son (-4)
                C) A and B combined for -8

Problem is that I'm struggling to come up with better wildcard changes to maximise Liverpool, City whilst keeping Hazard and not weakening the overall team.

                Any thoughts?

Im using free hit from a similar position in the table, I can see the benefit of keeping it for later round when FA cup effects things but playing it early when lineups are ore predictable/ less resting worked for me last year.
Also, Im really strongly against taking multiple liverpool players out this week when they have Huddersfield away then cardiff home the next two games. By free hitting it means I have Firmino, Mane and trent in those two games while I get Kane and double spurs defence this week against Cardiff (and then arent stuck with them against west ham and city next two weeks) without any minus points
That being said of your options Id go for option A, definitely better this week and not too weakened the following couple of weeks.
Losing Mne this week could look really stupid 6 minutes into the cardiff game

Thanks - the thought process would be to then get Mane back in on the Wildcard, but the above lets me keep the Free Hit chip.

It's interesting someone else is thinking the same in terms of the Free Hit - it takes the unpredictability of Liverpool v City out the way along with whichever Champions League rotations both teams will use. But I'm not absolutely sure it's the best use of it given potential gameweeks with 4 fixtures in it, as happened last year.

I think I'll get Aguero and Robertson out, Kane and Mee in for a -4 and let BSilva, Mane and Alisson ride out the City v Liverpool fixture - and then potentially get them back in next gameweek on the wildcard.

                    Thanks for the comment!
