We have updated the Watchlist after the events of Gameweek 7.

The biggest changes see some budget options at the back make their way into the goalkeeper and defender sections.

We’ve gone over the changes we’ve made to those areas of the Watchlist in this article, with midfielders and forwards to come later in the week.

Goalkeepers

Based mostly on fixtures, Alisson (£5.6m) has finally moved above Ederson (£5.6m). The two shot-stoppers will face each other in Gameweek 8 before Liverpool have two appealing fixtures against Huddersfield and Cardiff. Meanwhile, Manchester City follow-up their trip to Anfield with a home match against Burnley and an away day at Tottenham.

Over the next six fixtures, neither goalkeeper can support any fixture factors, either good or bad. We’ve also dropped Alisson down to a B for form as he has kept just one clean sheet in his last four matches. He also ranks 10th for form among goalkeepers on the official FPL app.

Rui Patrício (£4.5m), David De Gea (£5.9m) stay where they are on the list but their factors change slightly. The Wolves man retains an A for form but loses Favourable Fixtures. That’s because Tottenham and Arsenal are coming up in the next six. Meanwhile, De Gea and Manchester United receive similar treatment as they have to travel to Chelsea, Bournemouth and Man City. Kasper Schmeichel (£5.0m) keeps his place in sixth.

Bernd Leno (£4.8m) comes in for the injured Petr Cech (£5.0m). Arsenal have now kept two clean sheets on the bounce and continue to have decent fixtures. He keeps the place Cech held, just above Joe Hart (£4.5m), who was unable to add to his clean sheet count against Cardiff.

Mat Ryan (£4.5m) is a new addition to the watchlist. He comes on with a C for form but a Favourable Fixtures factor. No side ranks higher for defence on our Season Ticker over the next six Gameweeks than Brighton.

Wayne Hennessey (£4.6m) is coming to the end of his time on the Watchlist with some very difficult fixtures on the horizon. Martin Dubravka (£5.0m) remains bottom of the pile, but still in the conversation with Newcastle’s upcoming favourable fixtures.

Defenders

Marcos Alonso (£6.9m), Kieran Trippier (£6.2m) and Andrew Robertson (£6.3m) remain unchanged as the top three among defenders. The Spurs man keeps a rotation risk factor until we know about the injury to Serge Aurier (£5.8m).

Meanwhile, Matt Doherty (£4.5m) creeps above Aymeric Laporte (£5.6m) after a second double-figure haul of the season in Gameweek 7. He looks a more attacking option than the Frenchman, who remains our chosen Man City asset based on the fact that he is the only defender to have played every minute so far this season. With the aforementioned changes to Patrício, neither of these two options has a fixture-related factor.

Set piece takers Luke Shaw (£5.1m) and Jose Holebas (£4.9m) come next. The Man United man has a favourable fixture in Gameweek 8, while Watford’s Greek left-back faces a favourable run of games between now and Gameweek 12. Ben Chilwell (£5.0m) is still worth considering with Leicester ranked second for defence over the next six Gameweeks on our Season Ticker.

Then we have two new entries. The first is Shane Duffy (£4.5m), with Brighton currently top of the Season Ticker for defence over the next six Gameweeks. The centre-back also has two goals and two assists to his name so far this season. The other new face on the list is Everton left-back Lucas Digne (£4.8m). The former Barcelona man is joint-top with Doherty and Holebas for chances created among defenders over the last four Gameweeks.

As with Dubravka, DeAndre Yedlin (£4.5m) sits at the bottom of the list waiting for Newcastle’s fixture-swing to complete itself after a Gameweek 8 trip to Old Trafford.

Despite his popularity, Aaron Wan-Bissaka (£4.3m) moves off the list. That’s because his fixtures are set to stiffen up, and he no longer provides as much value as earlier in the season. The Crystal Palace man has risen to £4.3m, so does not open up quite as much room in Fantasy squads as before, and with Arsenal (home), Chelsea (away), Tottenham (home) and Man United (away) four of the next six fixtures, he is likely to be benched by anyone who does own him.

Normally I love a hit. Consistently finished in the top 30k but I think the hits has cost me a few 10k finishes. Had short term gaines but normally lose out on them overall

So 2 weeks ago Dilva played:
    Saturday: PL (90 mins)
    Wednesday: CL (90)
    Saturday: benched

Pep then supposedly said he can’t play 3 games in 7 days.

This time he has an extra day for Liverpool on Sunday. He played 87 mins on Saturday. What minutes are people expecting for Hoffenheim and Liverpool?

My instinct says he’s too good to miss these games. Best scenario would be to get the job done early tonight and sub him off before the hour mark to rest him for Lpool.

Frankly, I don't really care. He's gone next week pretty much no matter what. The City rotation is too annoying unless you go Sterling or Aguero. 8.5m for a mid that often gets subbed or comes on as a sub is too much. It was a mistake to get him.

man city would be fighting for their CL lives today. 'getting the job done' wont be so easy away to HOF. even if city win, it will be a hard fought one. d silva will probably play both matches.

For those with the WC intact:

GW 9 was singled out earlier in the season as a potential good time to WC because of fixture swings. Has anyone else noticed a particular time to use the wildcard or are you just saving it for when your team are in dire need?

    1. kennethrhcp
      • 15 Years
      7 years, 6 months ago

saving as long as possible like I usually do. going into IB i'll make my transfer(s) early if price matters & then if injuries occur I'll use it then.

Saving mine for when I feel I need it not necessarily for fixtures. Would like to get to Xmas period and use it then

    3. Witty Pun: Not good at this…
      • 9 Years
      7 years, 6 months ago

Honestly I don't see the need to use it then. I like the fixture swings, but with 2FT I can catch most of what I want that I havent already got, and the rest would be fodder changes anyway really. Am not planning on using it at a specific time, but looking and monitoring fixture swings

I was just about to make same question. We really need to focus to this matter. There was a hot topic about gw14(?) WC and I am starting to wonder if that is better idea. Template has also changed since that discussion.

WC during ib was my plan, but this fixture change happens over 2-3 gw:s so perhaps taking a hit or two and save wc is the way to go?!?

Just saving mine probably. I generally like my team & though I'd like Vardy, Arnie or Maddison, my likely makeweights are players I definitely don't want to lose in the coming GWs (e.g Salah).

Thoughts on the following? looking at only next two gameweeks!

    1) Bennett (cpl, WAT) + Zaha (WOL, eve)
    2) Doherty (cpl, WAT) + King (wat, SOT)

    A) Robbo (MCI, hud) + Hazard (sot, MUN)
    B) Doherty (cpl, WAT) + Salah (MCI, hud)

    X) Bennett + Salah + Zaha
    Y) Doherty + Salah + King
    Z) Robbo + Hazard + King

i am currently leaning towards 1B and therefore on X

ha good point, could be a coincidence but 3/3 CSs in the prem since he's been out...not very hard fixtures though.

Kinda unrelated note, but looking at that I've only just really taken in how easy City's start to the season was..can't help but feel Aguero has underperformed slightly - people talking about how many points he's got (and not to take him out because of it) but you'd expect it against those teams..

    Alonso - Trippier - Wan-Bassaka (Holebas - Bennett (Cardiff))
Mane - Richa - Hazard - Fraser (Pereyra)
    Mitro - Aguero - Wilson

    Cheers

Without knowing what you have in the bank id be inclined to save and have two FTs for the internationals

Transfer question - should I sell Aguero to bring in Kane and how best to go about it - will be a -4 hit either way.

If selling Aguero, whats the better set of transfers between
    a) Aguero & Wijnaldum to Kane & Hughes (Watford)?
    b) Aguero & Pereira (Leicester) / Shaw to Kane & Duffy?

I wouldn't do it for a hit full stop.

Use your FT to get Wijnaldum out of there

Wijnaldum? Oh dear, you are brave..

Wijnaldum scored 10 goals a couple of seasons ago.
I got him in thinking he may get a few goals in a free-scoring Liverpool team. It hasn't worked out this way, but it well could have and was worth the risk as a differential.
Who would you replace him with for similar money (£5.5m)?

Selling Pereira...? would be very annoyed if he started on the wing again... Im going to keep and reassess . So for that reason , A

Which is the best option going forward?

    A. Ings
    B. Jimenez
    C. Inhaenacho (Maddy owner)

Nacho has nice fixtures whilst the other two are a mixed bag but I can (in theory) bench them for the tough ones.

Thanks all. Only caveat is that Ings is on pens and completely nailed in that he's unlikely to be subbed early

Presuming Knockeart because of the fixtures? Is he a better option than say Maddison / Richarlison though?

I'm debating selling Richarlison for him, haven't really looked at Madison but maybe I should...

After going from 17k to 26k, I made the very stupid move on Sunday of going Dilva --> Bilva to facilitate Aguero --> Kane (c). Someone please call me an idiot

Well you can do Kane> Aguero back after Cardiff. Even a hit can pay off if Kane scores against Cardiff and you captain him.
But why Bilva? Too much rotation risk. Should have gone Maddison / Richie or someone

    A) One-week punt on FT and WC Gw 9.
    B) Save FT and have 2 for Gw9 and hold WC.

Takes so much discipline to roll a transfer. So tempted to take a hit and get Kane but I have to remember my plan to get Salah GW9.

Thoughts on rolling a transfer this week in order for next week to do Lukaku, Dilva, Moura > Salah, Vardy, Knockaert (-4)?
