The Community Round-up: Website remains busy during international break

The Fantasy Football Scout community haven’t relented in their efforts despite us entering the dead zone that is the international break.

Early transfers were a source of discussion, along with premium strikers and Liverpool defenders.

Our latest Community Round-up feature also looks over the various tournaments and mini-leagues that involve FFS users.

The Hottest Topics

Brazilian pair Bernard and Kenedy were two of the names mentioned in Gregor‘s “eye test” as the Community began the week by looking back at Gameweek 8.

With those matches out of the way, we asked whether you were pushing the button early on your Fantasy transfers or waiting till the FPL assets in question were back from international duty.

Bullet Eder asked if we should go without a premium striker this season, while ZoumasBloomers switched focus to the defence and wondered if doubling up on the Liverpool backline is worth a gamble.

Taking stock has been in order over this international break, too.

Deulofail asked for your season by numbers, while WesManTooth and Jealous Viper wanted to hear your biggest delights and most lamentable regrets of 2018/19.

Pierce34 challenged the FFS community to beat his captain score for the season, meanwhile.

Community Tables

Here is just a small selection of the excellent array of public tables created this week and available in the Members’ area

Remember, to see your table featured here (if that’s what you want!) please ensure you include a description explaining the purpose of it.

Community Tournaments

Brayden McCullough still leads our public Fantasy Football Scout League but has slipped to second overall after three Gameweeks at number one.

Luke Aiello is the new leader in our Fantasy Football Scout Members League and has also regained the lead in RedLightning‘s Top 10k Any Season mini-league. He played his Wildcard in Gameweek 7 and is now up to 28th overall. He has had two previous top 10k finishes (6,621st in 2014/15 and 2,759th in 2016/17).

RedLightning still leads the FFS Mods & Cons mini-league, with Chris Atkinson (RMT’s Professor) now in second place.

FFS user Lawrø has created a new community tournament which he describes as “similar to Community Watch but shorter.” Find out more about it HERE.

We’d like to remind our readers that it is not too late to sign up to the Fantasy Football Scout Charity Cup taking place on Saturday November 17. Find out more about it HERE.

Damn, hopefully the Salah injury isnt anything too serious! Giving up the Salahless advantage would hurt! Hopefully the one season wonder will be fine and the dreamers will keep believing 😉

Kun is my only City asset.

Is it a good idea to do Maddison to Bernardo Silva for three weeks?

Maddy against a decent Arsenal defence and then Fabianski (will be difficult to score freekicks against him)

I think the 3 of Salah, Mane and Bobby have a great understanding of how each other plays which is why Liverpool is such a force going forward when they play together and score lots of goals.
Take any one of those 3 out for any considerable amount of time and I am not so sure Liverpool would tick in quiet the same way!

Absolutely a valid point, though I do give more validity to a Salah-less team being less productive rather than the other two. He's a very special player after all.

Even through this mini draught, the signs are still ominous.

Good question - the interesting thing about Liverpool assets is that they haven't actually delivered to the point of being "must have" yet (except Robbo perhaps).....

But the sentiment is you need 'Pool coverage over the next few months or else.....

I cannot get over the John Cross column in the Mirror talking about a "bore draw" between Pool and Citeh.
You can see where my loyalties lie, but i am so surprised so many pundits say the same.
It was an intense tactical. quick and clever contest probably edged by Citeh.
We joked when we were kids a 0 0 draw could bore all "non-footballers" to death.

The first half was awefully boring. Second half was better.

People judging against last year's match.

Pretty much all 0-0s are described as such these days.

Please tell me I shouldn't keep pondering Ramsey...

Surely better options than an injury probe and rotation probe Ramsey?

Ings to fodder and Shaw if you really need Mendy.

I am actually shipping him out and spend in attack (Doherty 3rd mid)

So for us non Liverpool owners confused about getting Mane or Salah, looks like Mane the option to get in now with Salah doubtful? Thinking of getting in Mane and robbo for d Silva and PVA for -4. Thoughts?

Am I the only one thinking that Salah's injury is contrived? Salah gets "injured" right at the end of the game, which was being played in Egypt (only a few hours flight back to UK). This way he misses the return match with Swaziland in Swaziland, which is 12 hours away. My hunch - he'll go back to the club for "treatment" and be fully available for Hudders...

They have 1 more qualifier. Don't think national team will ' fake' an injury when playing qualifiers. If it were friendlies, maybe.

They have basically already qualified from their group

Besides, not saying the national team has faked an injury...am saying the Mo knows exactly who pays his bills, and it aint the Egypt football association...

Haha - not really...I think Mo is looking at Fraser and is thinking' "Well, if this a'ars can pull this stunt TWICE..." 🙂

    Ok, decision point.

    Current team:

    Ryan
    TAA, Trippier, Doherty
    Hazard, Salah, Maddison, Moura
    Aguero, Wilson, Mitro

    Hamer, D.Luiz, AWB, Stephens
    1FT, 1.3 ITB

    Proposed WC team:

    Patricio
    Mendy, Alonso, Robertson
    Hazard, Mane, Richarlison, Brooks
    Wilson, Lacazette, Aguero

    Fabianski, Doherty, Højberg, AWB
    0.0itb

    What are your general thoughts?

Not sure I would in unless salah is ruled out.

almost perfect. I will suggest Pat to Ham and

      1. Brooks to someone like Seri (Since you dont have Mitro for those fixtures).
      2. Keep money itb. Need to ship Wilson after 2 weeks. Only Murray in that range so money will be useful.

Don't think tour team needs WC. Just do 1/2 transfers.

Wish I'd activated wc last weekend. Missed out on a heap of rises and salah and Fraser doubts are the final straw.

    Kepa hamer
    Trippier Robbo Tomkins AWB Peltier
    Salah Mane Fraser bilva stephens
    Kane zaha mitro

This looks increasingly like a wc right? Had planned to hold off 1 more week.

You can definitely hold off for another week on that big man.

Owning Tomkins/AWB/Peltier (perhaps Zaha) will be a problem from GW10.

Either shift Tomkins or zaha, or possibly kane to kun.

Would wc next gw anyway most likely.

Just felt odd wc-ing when ticket had a sea of light blue This week.

      Hmm, I agree I think.

The triple Palace swings it for me coupled with the the possible no shows. Could wait for the pressers now you've missed the main risers I suppose to see how you're going to shape up for the g/w.

Cheers. Main reason for waiting was having mane and salah next week or two before getting hazard in.

Palace are annoying, but thought Everton away still a just about ok fixture. Have to go afterwards for sure.

Last Man Standing GW8 (2944 teams)

      Safety score = 43
      179 teams eliminated, 2765 through to GW9
Up to 7% out or minimum 194 out next GW
