A week has passed since Harry Kane‘s (£12.5m) blank in Tottenham Hotspur’s 1-0 win over Cardiff City and the one-point return still rankles for those of us who backed the England striker with the captaincy in Gameweek 8.

Having been bought by over 380,000 Fantasy Premier League managers ahead of the Cardiff match, Kane now sits in around 31% of FPL squads at the time of writing and many Fantasy bosses will be wondering what to do with their premium forward in the weeks ahead – particularly given the fixtures Spurs have in the short term.

Our Scout Notes touched on Kane’s frustrating tendency to drop deep in the win over the Bluebirds and this positional analysis is something we have decided to explore in more depth for this latest members’ article.

Two rubbish sides playing each other and Fulham are marginally better because of the quality in their attack and Mitrovic is their main man.

If I had a poor start to the season and was chasing my mini league leader then I’d captain mitro this week.

Eye test has been a problem for me last 2 matches, I actually got Mitro in for the Arsenal match but wouldn't be giving him the arm band until i see a spark again, even v Cardiff. You are better off playing it 'safe' with Kun, a pool attacker or Hazard IMO.

TBH I would simply avoid a premium keeper if on WC.

Much better value in 4.5s and you can bank the cash elsewhere. Plus Ederson and Allison take away a Citeh and Pool spot.

2 FTs and 0.7 itb with this crowd

    Patricio Hart
    Alonso Trippier TAA Doherty AWB
    Hazard Richarlison Maddison Fraser Hojbjerg
    Kane Kun Mitro

    Plan was Kane/Hojbjerg to Salah/4.5....

If no news on Salah how about Hart to Fabianski?
That way have a week to monitor Pool and Salah and 2 FTs week after to make my Kane out move...

Team is doing very well at the moment so want to get the next 2 moves right.

    Patricio | Foster
    Alonso | Robbo | Trippier | WB | Bennett
    Salah | Hazard | Maddison | Richarldson | Ward
    Kun | Wilson | Mitro

    Have 0.3ITB and 2FT

Going to downgrade Trippier to get some money to move Wilson/Mitro to Arnie in a couple of weeks, so do you prefer:
    A) Doherty
    B) TAA

The other transfer I will keep depending on Salah news but if he is out, do you prefer:

I have Wilson but I wouldn’t go anywhere near captaining him.

Bournemouth don’t have a great record in New Forest derby games and regardless of Southampton’s difficulties this could be a tight game, they are rarely high scoring.

Southampton won narrowly at Palace recently and I fear this game might be similar.

Already used my FT to rid myself of Peltier; but now I have no Pool mids/forwards.

    A) Kane to Firmino (-4)
    B) Kane to Lacazette, Maddison to Mané (relies on Mané going down (currently -67% and Maddison going up (currently +98%) (-8)
    C) Kane to Vardy, Maddison to Mané (-8)
    D) Do nothing and hide behind the sofa

    Ryan
    Alonso Robertson Mendy Doherty
    Hazard Fraser Richarlison
    Kane Kun Mitrovic

    Hamer Maddison AWB Schneiderlin

Is it possible that the average top 10 in FPL all come to FFS and use data to pick their teams? Or there may be one or two that just watch the games?

Should we say those that dont use data are more skillful to predict players that perform?
Are those that use data considered 'cheating' (a bit extreme yes)?

    1. Touré De Force
      • 16 Years
      8 years, 4 days ago

Data. Everyone uses data to some degree. Subconsciously, your brain is compiling it for you when you watch football (I've heard it commonly referred to here as "the eye test").

No point in looking at the top 10 at the mo. A lot of them will have used 2 or more chips already.

    2. Taking the Mkhitaryan
      • 9 Years

I have tried to cut down on my use of data.
It adversely affected my rank last year. Especially the selected data regurgitated by SOME vloggers and podders who actually aren't that good players. They just repeat what the popular feeling is. My rank has gone back to what it was before

The only premium forward worth it is Aguero. Laca maybe but he is semi premium.

I'm unsure of who to captain this week, im leaning towards sterling currently, what are people's thoughts? Current team:

    Kepa
    Trips - robbo - doherty
    Madison- sterling- haz - fraser
    Mitro- wilson - aguero

Bench: Alonso - bennet - hojbjerg

Yeah i reckon I'll end up with him but just seems wrong not to have haz as captain considering the way both he and man u have been playing recently.

Logical reasoning for each captain but need a bit if luck and rub of the green. For me, City will absolutely smash Burnley and Sterling will get more minutes than Aguero.

Hazard also looks a strong contender for captaincy even though it's against Man Utd.

    Patricio
    Alonso, Robertson, Trippier

    Thoughts, please?

Sterling and Hazard are good shouts.

I think Lacazette is being overlooked a bit for captaincy. Leicester looked really poor last game against Everton especially while playing out from the back, and Arsenal press well as a unit so definitely he's one for consideration.

    Aguero / Mitrovic / Quamer

    To this...

Not unless Salah is ruled out.

If Salah is fit your teams about as good as it gets.

Even with Salah out, a simple move to Sterling or mane might be better than spending the wc.

Im in a fairly similar situation as you, and I've entertainere the idea of wc if Salah is out. No chance of using it if he isnt though.

Holebas to Doherty, Wolves defence becoming essential with so many people having at least one of Pat, Bennett, Doherty, Boly, Johnny and many with 2. Doherty is a big goal threat, Johnny as well but I think Doherty is better.
