The football world has been brought to a standstill by the tragic events at the King Power Stadium on Saturday evening.

Leicester City owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, two members of his staff, a pilot and his partner all died in a helicopter crash after the Foxes’ 1-1 draw with West Ham.

The condolences of the Fantasy Football Scout team go out to the Srivaddhanaprabha family and everyone connected with Leicester City.

Out of respect to those involved in this terrible incident, we have decided to reduce our focus on the match itself.

Instead, we would like to pay tribute to what Leicester’s philanthropic chairman brought to the Fantasy Premier League community.

No football fan will ever forget how he inspired the Foxes to an against all odds Premier League title win in 2016.

The impact that had on FPL managers will always be remembered fondly. Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy, in particular, were exciting mid-price Fantasy options to own that season as they combined for 41 goals and 17 assists.

Beginning the campaign priced at £5.5m and £6.0m respectively the pair offered exceptional value never seen before in FPL.

Defensive assets such as Wes Morgan and Christian Fuchs also helped Fantasy managers capitalise on 15 clean sheets.

As Leicester comes to terms with their devastating loss, their midweek EFL Cup tie with Southampton has been understandably postponed.

While nothing has been confirmed one way or another, there have already been suggestions that the Foxes’ Gameweek 11 trip to Cardiff City may also be re-arranged to a later date.

If that were to happen it would be the first blank Gameweek of the 2018/19 season.

Leicester City 1-1 West Ham United

Goals: Wilfried Ndidi (£4.9m) | Fabian Balbuena (£4.4m)

Assists: Demarai Gray (£5.4m)

Jamie Vardy (£9.0m) started this particular match on the bench amid stories in the media of a rift between him and manager Claude Puel. The player himself had posted on social media that he was “back to full strength” following an illness but his boss clearly had a different view.

“He could not train earlier this week. I want a player who is at 100% to start. He will have a good opportunity to come in the second half and show his energy.” – Claude Puel

With Wes Morgan (£4.5m) serving the last of his two-match suspension, Caglar Söyüncü (£4.9m) made his first start. He does appear to have the potential to stake a claim in the side but will have to do some work to rough his edges.

West Ham’s team news saw Marko Arnautovic (£7.0m) miss out altogether with an illness. The suggestion is that he should have recovered from that in time for Gameweek 11.

Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez (£6.2m) started up front in the 4-2-3-1 system favoured by Manuel Pellegrini in the absence of the injured Pedro Obiang (£4.4m). With Andriy Yarmolenko (£6.8m) possibly out for the season, Robert Snodgrass (£5.3m) looks likely to retain his place in the side. He was deployed as the number 10 role behind Chicharito and, as was the case in pre-season, was in charge of set pieces.

Felipe Anderson (£6.8m) and youngster Grady Diangana (£4.5m) were utilised in wide areas.

Fabian Balbuena (£4.4m) finally delivered on the set-piece goal threat he had promised in recent weeks. He gave West Ham the lead in the first half after latching onto the end of a free-kick. Balbuena’s header hit the post and he turned in the rebound.

West Ham handed the advantage back to the hosts soon after as Mark Noble (£4.9m) was sent off for a high tackle. His three-match ban sees him miss one EFL Cup tie, Gamweek 11 and Gameweek 12.

Lukasz Fabianski (£4.5m) was close to another massive away-day haul with his string of saves but was beaten by a deflected Wilfried Ndidi (£4.9m) shot late on. It was a deserved goal for Leicester who piled on the pressure in the second half. Nevertheless, Fabianski still managed to record a ‘fake clean sheet’, scoring six points from his seven saves and two bonus.

There was a serious injury to Daniel Amartey (£4.4m) in the closing stages as he appeared to break his ankle. With much attention naturally on the passing of Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, it has not actually yet been confirmed as a fracture. However, it has been at least established that he has had surgery on his ankle.

Leicester City XI (4-2-3-1): Schmeichel; Chilwell, Maguire, Söyüncü (Okazaki 80′), Amartey; Iborra, Ndidi; Albrighton, Maddison, Ghezzal (Vardy 45′); Iheanacho (Gray 61′).

West Ham United XI (4-2-3-1): Fabianski; Masuaku, Diop, Balbuena, Zabaleta; Rice, Noble; Anderson (Ogbonna 81′), Snodgrass, Diangana (Cresswell 75′); Chicharito (Antonio 61′).

Would you do Firmino to Arnautovic (then could upgrade Holebas to Mendy or Robbo)
    or
Wilson to Arnie for free and play him through hard fixtures?

Thats only way to get Robbo or Mendy when I dont want to lose Trippier or Alonso.

For a -8 are you mad?

Vardy may play or not play.
You do not even know if the leicester game is on or not next gameweek,
Plus city have awkward enough fixtures coming up after southampton.
A derby v Jose - an in form West Ham and a Bournemouth team who like attacking.

    A) Pat to 4.0, WanB to Balbuena, money ITB for Mitro to Arni (Gk transfer gw13)
    B) TAA to Balbuena, Wilson to Arni. Next gw Mitro to Fodder, WanB or Bennet to Robbo, money ITB to improve 5th mid. (Gk transfer gw15)
    C) Anything else?

One problem may be that gw13 or 15 depending on what move I make I am going to be wanting to do a keeper transfer and the standout option is Fab, that would leave double West Ham defence. Should I go Balbuena or Dunk/Bruno/Someone else?

      Kun is starting to struggle?
He's blanked in 4 out of 10 games, 3 of which were Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham, all away from home.

        Did great v Cardiff eh?
No double figures since gw2. Leaving the pitch on 65-70 mins. Scored 3 of the City's 16 in the last 6 since playing 90.

For one of the most expensive players?

        1. bigbudgie

Third highest scoring striker in the game (despite minutes). Scored against Cardiff so not sure what you mean. The one about ratio to team goals is funny. City score a lot of goals. You want him to score all of them?

But my comment was that he is starting to struggle, and compare his output in the last six games since pep started to take him off early. Never more than a single goal.
His overall points are squewed by his haul in gw2.

Not saying he isn't an option but for 11.3 he's not earning it recently

Spurs have nice fixtures starting gw15. But which assets are to be trusted to even start games? Trippier naturally is one "must have", but Kane is not in form and far too expensive. There are not too many defender slots available and that midfield looks like a minefield.

Aubameyang has a better long term track record in top flight football. More reliable. Had a slow start to the season yet still joint top goal scorer in the league.

He's such a quality player, I'm surprised by how many people overlook him.

      ederson out - fabinaski in
      Kane out - Arnautovic in

Not absolutely certain on Mendy. He looks like a red card to happen and I think they can manage vs Soton without him. He may even be dropped or "have injury again".

Yeah, he didn't impress tonight. I owned him from the start, prior to "injury", and he was as exciting as it gets for an fpl defender.

Alonso, Robbo, Mendy, Trippier will have you waking up in a cold sweat thinking how did you not manage to get them in. The game has been evolving for quite some time towards elite fullbacks domination

Constructive input. Those 4, with Ederson plus Haz, Kun, Salah utilising the pool of Fraser, Wilson, Jiminez, Ings, Deulofeu, Iheanacho etc the way to go imo, rather than dicking about with TAA, Luiz, Kiko, treble wolves, Mahrez and having two dead slots with Kamara & camarasa.

Yeah I'd rather have a different keeper, but nothing wrong with Doherty and Jonny. Camarasa isn't bad (Kamara is a dead slot, fair enough). Maybe yeah, but I'm not getting RAM. I know they get more opportunities because of the players that surround them but 5/6 of Alonso/Mendy assists were extremely fortunate imo.

Better value in 4.5 goalkeepers and I like both Brighton and West Ham in the coming weeks. KDB as we know is an FPL points machine when he gets going and also as nailed as anyone can be under Pep. Mahrez is not.

+£1m and another slot for Liverpool. Fabianski was at Swansea, who were relegated, last season and almost matched the top keeper because of the number of saves he made. He has a great fun of fixtures now as well.

    Four non starters this week...

King to Arnautovic now or wait until after the League Cup fixtures? I also want to get Firmino out seeing how deep he played against Cardiff, might move to a cheaper forward to free up some funds to improve midfield or to get Mendy in.

What budget forward would you pick?

    A. Mitro (6.9) - Liverpool, Chelsea and Utd in the next 6 but could play alternate games.
    B. Murray (6.5) - Good fixtures however fitness and resting games might be an issue.
    C. Deeney (5.9) - Again good fixtures and getting back to fitness but will he share mins with Success who scored this weekend and Gray? Watford were playing both Deeney and Gray before he got injured.
    D. Other?

Wilson, King, Zaha, Jimenez and Ings are all options as well but difficult fixtures coming up.

Also has Masina replaced Holebas for the foreseeable future?

Had an ok start to the season but dropping off over the last few gameweeks.

Not sure yet. There's just so much value in both of them, and Wilson. Especially if you've had them from the start. Playing for a team that scores goals. Utd concede goals, and so do Arsenal, and they play them both at home with Newcastle away in between. Holding for now

            Firmino to Arnie - Done

Good point about King and Fraser, will keep both at least until the Arsenal game. Got 1FT with 2.9 ITB. Unsure on whether to upgrade Holebas to Mendy or use to upgrade midfield player. Need to have a think about this

Who to take out for Mendy?
        My defense is:
        Robbo Alonso Doherty Pereira Bissaka

I think Bissaka.. and have expensive defense
        Is it too expensive?

I don't think you should sell Wan-Bissaka - chance are you bought him at 4.0, in which case he's the cheapest nailed defender around. If he becomes Mendy the formation becomes less flexible, and then if you decide to downgrade a defender you'll have to pay more for a cheap nailed on.

I think Pereira goes, out of them 5.

Yes! I'm a bit disappointed though, when City scored I thought there were going to be more goals, and if there were there would've been fewer points for Trippier and Ederson.

Still, nothing to complain about, we both did well, though I'm kind of expecting a small red arrow I think.

Yes it's ridiculous. Especially if you miss out on points because you've benched the wrong defender
