Kenneth Tang’s Fantasy Premier League career history is nothing short of breathtaking.

A third of his 12 season finishes have been within the top 500 and a quarter within the top 200.

In total he has nine top 10,000 finishes and impressively almost broke into the top 100 during his first ever campaign, back in 2006/7.

In our latest Meet the Manager interview Kenneth reveals how close attention to the fixtures of the top six sides each year has been crucial to his success.

Wildcard timing is also vital, with his first of this season still to be played. Using his big-six fixture strategy he also explains why Gameweek 16 looks to be the optimum time to deploy this chip and ensure he marches up the overall rankings, perhaps even jettisoning his premium defence along the way.

As a veteran of FPL he explains how the advent of the second Wildcard saw the game change and forced him to tweak his strategy and planning.

The value of the eye test is also key for Kenneth. From his Hong Kong base he is able to regularly spend Saturday and Sunday nights watching matches, although with a new born baby this has not been as regular as previous campaigns.

The chat with Kenneth is available to view on Youtube here and in the embedded video below.

Is salah worth a hit and is mane worth sacrificing?

Anyone planning to sell Salah & Aguero in the coming weeks after IB?

I’m looking to sell Salah for Sterling in GW13 which gives me enough money to upgrade Maddison to Siggy and also get Kane for Aguero in GW15 for Spurs great run of fixtures.

I feel Kane will be a safer captaincy option than Aguero over the Christmas period and Spurs have better fixtures than City.

Sterling I think could match or even better Salah for 2m less as they have similar fixtures and stats. Also he looks a better City attacker to own than Aguero.

    Appreciate your thoughts! 🙂

Over the long run I may keep only Manè and rather have Hazard instead of Salah or Sterling over X mas.

Sterling offers a lot more for 1.3m over Mane.

Manè is more nailed, cheaper and hopefully maych Sterling in the long run.

I'm also getting rid of Liverpool attacking cover after gw 15 and going without. Investing in midfield mostly. Already own Hazard & Sterling so they are staying. I'm not gonna get Kane but maybe Lacazette & maybe one of Spurs mid's, depending who appears to be nailed. I would love Lamella to be that man but I'll see.

I am looking at Salah/Mad > Mane/Sterling. If I am not captaining Salah then this combo looks the best bet. I will wait until after this GW.

    Alonso / Robertson / Laporte

How much of a must have is Mané this weekend? I have had plans to bring him in for the Fulham game especially but I'm not sure now. My team below.

    Fabianski
    Mendy TAA Balbuena
    Hazard Salah Sterling Kenedy Murphy
    Agüero Arnautovic

    4.0 - Jimenez Doherty AWB

    1. MTPockets
      7 years, 8 months ago

He's not a must have. I've got him and Salah as a bet on this game given Hazard's fitness, but that could easily backfire.

    2. Indio
      • 14 Years
      7 years, 8 months ago

He's not a must by any means, but it's very tempting (considering same). I reckon it's a good idea if for free and you're planning to keep him anyway for a few games. Feels a bit like 'fixture greed' we saw ahead of Kane v Cardiff too!

I'd say get him in, then you have the choice of which to keep, him or Salah.

Hi all, I'd like to get your help on tactics and transfers for the team below, as I've really lost my way in the last few weeks and copped some nasty red arrows. Which way would you go? (1 FT, 0.1 itb):

A: Original plan, Haz > Mane for Fulham and next few, with Barks as CHE cover (I know, I know, but it seemed a good idea before!), aiming to get Haz back later.
B: Barks/Fraser and Mitro > Rich and Jimmy (would probs have to take a hit though, as have exact coin for this and prices will move this week, so I can't spread transfers out).
C: Mitro > Jimmy, and just do something else next week (though Rich will be out of reach).
D: Mitro > Wilson. Feels most sensible, but leaves me zilch for MF upgrades.

    Hart/Button
    RAM, Doherty, WB
    Haz, Barkley, Salah, Fraser, Holjbjerg
    Aguero, Arnie, Mitro

    1. MTPockets
      7 years, 8 months ago

Mitro out for sure. Maybe Barkley out for a hit if he plays on thursday, although no urgency for Rich vs che. Rest looks fine.

Yes I won't get rid of Doherty actually. Stupid thought. I got 2 options too but not too keen on transfering them out. Downgrading Fraser or Maddison. Murray also got good fixtures so maybe a sidemove to go Arnie.

Does the below mean TAA-Gomez-VVD-Robertson is the first choice back four?
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dejan Lovren and Joel Matip will get opportunities to stake their claims to be in Jürgen Klopp’s team, said the Liverpool manager. With Joe Gomez and Virgil van Dijk in exceptional form as a central defensive partnership so far this season, Lovren and Matip have been limited to four and six appearances respectively. The pair were both part of the Reds’ 21-man travelling squad for Tuesday’s Champions League tie against Red Star Belgrade, however. And during the team flight to Serbia, Klopp insisted both players have shown an exemplary attitude in the circumstances – which will be rewarded with chances to play when they arise.

“It’s all good,” the boss told Liverpoolfc.com. “Dejan had a very intense year – then he had the World Cup after a very good season for us. After the World Cup he came back injured and had no pre-season. He needed to train. “Since then he is stepping in. He is doing really well. Dejan had games and will have games. “The harder thing is Joel. He is in a very good shape. He had a difficult last year as well. He came back and could do most of the pre-season. “That’s how the situation is: it’s not forever, it’s always in the moment. You have to use moments and stuff like that. The boys have reacted pretty well so far but I didn’t expect anything different.”

Yeah, that's how I read it, it's possible Lovren could supplant Gomez at CB and Gomez may move to RB on a more permanent basis. I think mostly it will be as you say though, but with Lovren seeing some games and TAA probably being the biggest casualty of that rotatation.

    4. MTPockets
      7 years, 8 months ago

No, think it means Gomez-VVD are first choice.

3 way TAA / Gomez / Lovren rotation. Any 2 of the 3 can play.

As a Liverpool fan I want Gomez/VVD at centre back every game, don't like Gomez being pushed wide to accommodate Lovren.

Hands up if you're currently beating Kenneth (151,739) 🙂

    Fun while it lasts.

Seen his GW score for this week and felt a little better about myself when I just scored 39.

Get this done quick so you can get some well needed rest ahead of the destruction of Fulham, Salah.

Same can be said for Robbo or even Salah and Mane - certainly I wouldn't be taking a hit to bring anyone in

Yeah of course, but I'd prefer he didn't start tonight

Long term (over Christmas included) who's the best pick out of

    Jimenez
    Murray
    Zaha.

Can go up to about 7m - already own Arnautovic & Fraser (so I don't want to jump on Wilson really).

      I'd say Jimenez

But then you know Zaha will score and get bonus points

Definitely. Any plans to get a City attacker long-term though?

Might as well leave, hope Lovren plays, then do something with Lovren and two transfers next week.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking. Can't see a good option to change without taking a hit and he may play still
