Despite abounding rumours and last-minute panics, the Liverpool team news proved to be fairy routine for Gameweek 13.

Mohamed Salah (£13.0m), Sadio Mané (£9.9m) and Roberto Firmino (£9.2m) were all named on the team-sheet for the trip to Watford.

Andrew Robertson (£6.5m), Trent Alexander-Arnold (£5.1m) and Xherdan Shaqiri (£7.0m) were considered selection doubts by some but they also start the fixture.

Joe Gomez (£5.1m) misses out with a minor ankle injury.

Meanwhile, Liverpool’s hosts Watford benched Isaac Success (£4.6m) and Jose Holebas (£4.8m) was ruled out with a calf problem.

Manchester City’s line-up did not throw up too many surprises with Sergio Aguero (£11.5m), Raheem Sterling (£11.2m) and David Silva (£8.6m) retaining their places.

Fabian Delph (£5.3m) comes in for the injured Benjamin Mendy while John Stones (£5.3m) was benched for Nicolas Otamendi (£6.1m) at centre-back.

Pascal Groß (£6.7m) returned to the Brighton line-up with Anthony Knockaert (£5.5m) keeping his place in the side.

Leicester started James Maddison (£6.8m) while Jamie Vardy (£9.0m) was considered fit enough only for the bench.

Popular options in the transfer market this week in Richarlison (£7.0m) and Lucas Digne (£4.8m) were both on the team-sheet for Everton.

Claudio Ranieri made just one change in his first match in charge of Fulham with Jean Michael Seri (£5.3m) coming in for Andre Franck Zambo Anguissa (£4.4m), with Calum Chambers (£4.2m) still in midfield.

Anthony Martial (£7.6m) kept his place for Manchester United and he will have to face-up to Crystal Palace’s finest with Mamadou Sakho (£5.0m) and James Tomkins (£4.3m) coming through fitness tests to start.

Someone pointed out here that Sterling has never come off the bench this season. Which meant that captaining him and vice-captaining someone you wouldn't mind as a captain seemed much more viable with him than with any other City mid. In a weird way that makes having him the rotation risk, not captaining him.

Imagine if Liverpool didn't sell Sterling, Coutinho and Suarez to their rivals lol. They might actually be able to win the league with a decent team.

Imagine not understanding that players have to agree to new contracts to still be playing with a club.

Good job I resisted last minute temptation to move C from Sterling to Martial or Doherty.
All I need now is for Arnie to wipe City's clean sheet.

Yep. I own him, but didn't (c) and am very happy with that. He is so low ownership because so many going with the trio of Hazard, Salah and Aguero.

Sane is a fantastic option now that Mendy is injured. Can't really go wrong with this City team but lack of width from Mendy means Sane will play almost every game, I reckon.
