There were very few selection surprises for the opening fixture of Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 18.

Liverpool have named their first-choice front-three of Mohamed Salah (£13.1m), Roberto Firmino (£9.2m) and Sadio Mané (£9.6m) for the second Premier League match in a row, with the Egyptian once again looking set to lead the line.

There are changes elsewhere in the side as Jordan Henderson (£5.3m) replaces Georginio Wijnaldum (£5.5m) and James Milner (£5.6m) slots in at right-back in place of Nathaniel Clyne (£4.6m).

After securing a win over Bournemouth last time out, Wolves stick with the 3-4-1-2 formation that helped them to success in Gameweek 17.

Adama Traore (£5.2m) comes in for Diogo Jota (£5.9m) to play up front alongside Raúl Jiménez (£6.2m) while Joao Moutinho (£5.2m) plays as the number 10.

Romain Saïss (£4.2m) replaces Morgan Gibbs-White (£4.3m) in central midfield and it’s another start for Jonny (£4.3m) who made a surprise return from injury in Gameweek 17.

Wolves XI: Patricio; Boly, Coady, Bennett; Jonny, Saïss, Neves, Doherty; Moutinho; Traoré, Jiménez.

Liverpool XI: Alisson; Robertson, van Dijk, Lovren, Milner; Keita, Fabinho, Henderson; Firmino, Salah, Mané.

It's a HUGE cost to add a roof, especially one that's retractable...about as much as building a stadium itself.

IF by the time the CL comes back around and Liverpool are still toe to toe with City the CL wont be made as big a priority.

      1. Yank Revolution
        • 14 Years
        7 years, 3 months ago

Why would you say that? Sure, LIV have a tough first round opponent, but, the CL is as wide-open as it's been in a long time.

      2. Brosstan
        • 11 Years
        7 years, 3 months ago

No one will down-prioritize latter stage CL. If it happens it will in practice mean the first 11 not being rested unless injured.

    enjoyable game this.
Wolves are a decent side and (unlike some other previous promoted sides that started well) look to have the quality to keep this up over a whole season.
Gibbs White on for Traore will improve the attacking quality 2nd half

They just need to curb the over confidence vs the lesser teams and they'll be in the top ten by the end of the season

They are. Had the advantage of having a side built that was too good for the championship and been able to continue with a settled side(which is what the other two promoted didn’t)

I like the Traore threat, he can hold up against VVD and Lovren because hes a unit and no chance if he gets in behind (although his finishing is poor)

    4. Rainer

TAA not being nailed was factored in for him being cheaper than Robbo/VVD.

If Clyne is seen as the back up he can't be cheaper cause a starting Liverpool full back at 4m/4.5m is ridiculous, if injuries meant he became a regular starter.
