Harry Kane’s ankle injury, which is set to keep him out of action until March, tops the bill during an action-packed show that bizarrely also takes in James Bond and Toy Story.

After taking great pleasure in looking back on their excellent Gameweek 22 scores, the Scoutcast crew tuck into the key questions from the community ahead of the next set of matches.

Kane’s absence sees David, Joe, Az and Luke discuss the best forward options, with Manchester United’s talismanic striker topping their lists. Moving money into midfield is also considered as the crew look at Dele Alli’s Buzz Lightyear-esque ability to step up whenever his Spurs’ team-mate is absent.

Whether to ditch disappointing players from the ranks of Chelsea, Everton and West Ham is another issue tackled.

Meanwhile, there are some words of warning for those looking to deploy their second wildcard now rather than save it to help navigate the double and blank Gameweeks to come.

Elsewhere, Az’s round-up of the community’s recent moves showcases a high-flying manager with a licence to thrill in the overall rankings.

The crew finish off with a look at their transfer and captaincy plans as well as the best differentials and defences in Gameweek 23.

Stoke fan. Miserable season be glad when it’s over, would have kept rowett.

Went out game at bramall, we were very lucky to get a draw, probably one of the most we’ve beem outplayed all season. Think you’ll finish 3rd and be very close in the play offs if not promoted

Basically blank GW27 is definately Man City and Everton if Man City don’t lose 10-0 to burton.

Then either Chelsea or spurs fixture cancelled depending on who wins the semi final.

    What do you think chaps

    Fab - Foster
    Bamba - Robertson - Keane - AWB - Bednarek

Any consensus yet on whether it’s worth taking another hit to remove TAA if you already took one to bring him in?

AWB/Success would likely play and I see a ceiling of 2 pts, so 6 breaks even.

    1. Richd
      • 13 Years
      7 years, 3 months ago

AWB and success are pretty weak options. How much do you have for the replacement ? As long term the hit could be worth it with a weak bench.

      1. WDT
        • 14 Years
        7 years, 3 months ago

Loads. Enough for any defender. But sold Alonso as part of the deal already! Theresa levels of deals here going on I know . The shame.

          • 13 Years

You can probably justify Robertson then. Can’t see AWB or Success doing much and so you only need a CS to break even and it helps you long term.

Wish I could have got Robertson !

What you've done in the past regarding hits has no bearing on hits you take in the future. Don't get caught up in thinking about what you've done in the past. That's not to say I think its worth a hit.

When taking a hit the only question you should really be asking yourself is will doing so generate more points for you over the coming weeks than not. Can the transfer be delayed a week, or have you other transfers planned for next week etc.

AWB/Success will prob have a 2 point ceiling this week, but what about next week and the one after? AWB has a good chance of getting 2 cleansheets in the following 2 weeks and when he gets a CS he often gets BPs. Not hard to see him getting 8 points if he does very bad, 12 points if he does ok, or 17 points if he does really well over the next 3 weeks. Who would you bring in for TAA, are they likely to do better than that over the next 3 weeks considering the -4?

Well personally I sold Anderson to get Salah. I just prefer Richarlison fixtures.

It’s tough. But rich is cheaper, better fixtures and been unlucky last two weeks.

          It’s a coin flip !

That is the reasoning why I plan to sell Felipe next week. I didn't wanna play Luiz or AWB so did TAA to Lindelöf yesterday. I guess Shaw might have been better option, but he had already risen in price so I was just stubborn and didn't wanna pay extra.

      TAA > Shaw now

Both A&B have good fixtures now, so monitor. Am I correct if I say that they have midweek game next week and then it might give a hint who starts.

Risk of serious backfire this week is too big. Arnie probably gone, so Felipe may improve and Rich also capable to brace. Both Sterling and Sane may play only 20 mins.

      1. Salah’s Sonnet
        • 14 Years
        7 years, 3 months ago

Actually sensible advice. I was thinking of actually doing TAA> Shaw and maybe bench Doherty for him, as i really do like Richa's and Anderson's fixtures this GW.

Sterling & Sane could get limited mins though? I'd of thought both are absolutely nailed to start?

Why are some people still holding TAA? Is it because he will return quite soon and saves a transfer back or is it because you have already taken a hit and can’t afford to take another or any hits at all?

Already taken hit and priced out of Robertson by 0.1!!

Also there’s FA cup soon and he’s out maximum four weeks. So I guess I’ll reasses next week.

I got for 5.0. So SV is 5.1. I can take a couple of drops and not care really.

The official line was “up to 4 weeks”. As I said FA cup gives additional time.

Taking a hit pointless if you can play your bench defender

One of the best bits of advice I read on here a few years ago was 'dont take a hit for a defender/keeper if you have a playing sub"

Would be tempted by Alonso to Digne. Everton have an ok eta of fixtures I’d expect some returns from. Hold the Pogba upgrade though or maybe look at Alli?

    Best Kane replacement:

    A/ Bobby
    B/ Auba

Could've done Kane>Bobby for 0.2m swing yesterday but just didn't appeal. Auba 2 tough fixtures around Cardiff

I heard that Palace signed a new keeper. Anyone know anything about this? Is he joining the club immediately and could therefore mean Speroni may not play this week?

Watched the highlights from the Spurs v United game and it seems Trippier didn't take any corners or free kicks. Am I right in saying this?
