Recorded during the last few minutes of Gameweek 28’s fixtures, the Scoutcast crew cling to the hope of huge points hauls right to the final whistle.

For Az and Joe, though, the evening proved particularly frustrating as they are left to settle for a mere dribble of 11th-hour returns from the likes of Paul Pogba.

At least one of the crew saw their hope rewarded. Special guest Adam Hopcroft, who was filling in for the red-flagged podcast pair of David and Luke, ended the night on 62 points to set him on course for his sixth top 10,000 overall finish.

Amid the excitement of a Gameweek finale, the crew also find time to mull over the key players, teams and talking points of the week.

Chelsea’s strong fixture run comes under scrutiny, as does the potential of a Leicester side under new management following the appointment of former Celtic and Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers.

Chip strategy is also revisited with recent injuries to key players and the strong form of Newcastle presenting further challenges and opportunities as Fantasy mangers navigate the upcoming blank and double Gameweeks.

Gameweek 29 is then looked at in detail, with clean sheet and differential prospects put under the microscope.

Proceedings take an unusual turn when Monty Python’s Life of Brian and He-Man earn mentions.

The crew finish the show by revealing  their transfer and captaincy plans. As the old football cliché goes “they can take the despair, it’s the hope that kills them”.

Everyone suddenly going crazy over Sterling

    1. BOU aren’t always a walk in the park
    2. Sterling still may not actually score. He could do a Salah vs WAT and look good but not score
    3. There are still many others who could have the lion’s share of the action in this MCI squad.

I get he only played 35 mins midweek but we have seen his form isn’t consistent. When he turns up it’s big. But sometimes he just doesn’t.

Don’t get me wrong, if I had him I’d keep and Captain but I’m not sure I get the desire to tear teams up for him

      I agree.
Not even sure i would Cap if i had him.
      Im sticking with Poggy.

I’m on Kun with Pogba vice but will switch unless the presser is definitive re Jesus (which is unlikely)

Yeah my problem with Kun is his away record this season and whether he will start.

      Too late bro 😀
      Already done
      Son+Auba >> Raz+ Higuain (-4)
Have 8 player's in gw 31. So gone for Raz. With one hit on gw31 deadline I'll get complete 11 in gw 31/33.
Need some changes as everything is boring atm

Hopefully those moves will pay off mate!

I’m holding Son this week - hoping he’ll prove himself in the derby. Then use 2FT next week and 1 week after to get 10 GW31 players

I personally think his form is consistent, unless you're talking about FPL "form", which doesn't really exist except in hindsight

      Seems consistent: 10, 1, 10, 1, 18, 1...

IIRC, Cook and Lerma are out.

Brought (c) Sterling in for Son. It's the Airy Cane show now at Wembley.

Dropped massively the last few gameweeks (20k > 75k).

Just took a -4 to ship Auba (seemed such a better option than Aguero...) and Son (fixtures turning and blank) and Wan Bissaka has left my team having been a squad member since GW1.

    Team is now:

    Fabianski (Boruc)
    Robertson Doherty Duffy (Bednarek) (Stankovic)
    Sterling Hazard Salah Pogba (Guendouzi)
    Jiménez Vardy Rashford

Will ship Jimi for a Bournemouth striker for their mighty run and to have another player for the blanks.

    Thoughts?

Bought for 6.4 so currently only losing .2 (and I think he's likely to drop in value due to the blanks, so may even be able to pick him back up later for some of their tastier fixtures GWs 34-37)

    Patricio
    Robertson Luiz Doherty
    Salah Son Pogba Anderson
    Aguero Jiminez Barnes

    Fabianski Trippier Hojberg AWB

1FT, 1.3m in the bank, all chips intact

    A) Son -> Mane
    B) Son and Trippier -> Hazard and TAA (-4)
    C) Something else

I'm leaning towards B, and I'm willing to take the hit as it also gets me an extra player in GW31. I suppose the main question really is who is best for the third Liverpool slot out of Mane and TAA?

I guess both are rotation risks with the dense fixture schedule (including a CL fixture between GW30 and 31), though TAA is 'fresher' for GW29 having played fewer minutes recently. Hmmm. Can wait another night before making the transfer as I won't lose any SV if Trippier and Son drop tonight, but it's a close call!

I'd prefer to keep Luiz as he plays in GW31, and quite prepared to lose Trippier given his poor form, not great fixtures and rotation with Rose

          Hey mate,
My bad. I thought you don't have Luiz so i suggested to get Luiz.

But anyway, I'd definitely pick Mane atm. He's playing centrally too according to Klopp. So ...

Fair enough, all are good options. I got Hazard in for Richarlison this week, I think he's the better option of the two due to his upcoming fixtures. And TAA matches Mane's points for a fraction of the cost.

Fixtures unappealing outside triple Liverpool which already have. Can use 2FT to get likes of Hazard Higuain or some combo for Sterling Aguero then have all those players again in 33. FH32 allows precision hit on DGW

Issue i have with getting Higs/Haz for Sterling/kun is that in GW 33 City have Cardiff.

This, I regret bringing him in a few weeks back. Not much on offer at that price level now other than Maddison. Looks like I'll have to hold until GW31 now.

Best to plan for the 31 right?

    Fab

    Robertson Doherty Kola Digne Wan-B
    Salah Mane Pogba Son Odoi
    Aguero Rashford Jimi

Thinking Sterling in for Son, Pereira in for Kola, and a 4,6 lad in for Rashford?

-4 seems like a nice move

First instinct post Spurs-debacle is Son --> Mané (FT) in prep for FH32, but I still think he'll deliver in the next 2.

    Fabianski
    Robertson - Doherty - Kolasinac
    Salah - Pogba - Son - F.Anderson
    Aguero - Rashford - Rondon

    Button - Bednarek - AWB - Camarasa [1FT + 1.8m ITB]

He could of course get attacking points, but I’d consider selling for TAA. Liv defence incredible value even before Wednesday night. But that would obviously rule Mané out..

What it the best combo to get for gw's 31 and 33:

    1) TAA - Hazard McNeil - Higuain
    2) Luiz- Mane McNeil - Higuain
    3) Luiz - Hazard McNeil - Vardy
    4) TAA - Fraser - Vardy Higuain with -4

    Current team:
    Fab
    Pereira - Robbo - Lejeune
    Salah - Anderson - Pogba - McNeil
    Auba - Jimenez - Aguero

    Subs: Barnes, schindler, awb

My fall from the Christmas period has been remarkable. In the last 15 GW’s ive had 3 green arrows and fallen from 2.5K to 250K. Its at a point were i dont even enjoy it and want to quit untill next season, but i’d look like such a sore loser having lead our ML from august - january. The bad luck has been ridiculous! Any worse horror stories?

Went from 10.5K to 123K from GW 18 to 23 and came close to quitting but clawed back up to 47K now with all my chips left . Hard to enjoy when red arrow after red arrow but it takes just one half decent GW to turn it around

The thing is that i already will take a hit this gw and maybe gw30 so another -4 in 31 and play with 9 players and save FH, planned transfers this gw vardy sterling if no FH in 31 then it will be haz rather than sterling

I would probably just go with less than 9 unless you think they pay for themselves. If playing 31 and 33 definitely you could expect minimum 2pts each week covers the cost of hit
