Recorded during the last few minutes of Gameweek 28’s fixtures, the Scoutcast crew cling to the hope of huge points hauls right to the final whistle.

For Az and Joe, though, the evening proved particularly frustrating as they are left to settle for a mere dribble of 11th-hour returns from the likes of Paul Pogba.

At least one of the crew saw their hope rewarded. Special guest Adam Hopcroft, who was filling in for the red-flagged podcast pair of David and Luke, ended the night on 62 points to set him on course for his sixth top 10,000 overall finish.

Amid the excitement of a Gameweek finale, the crew also find time to mull over the key players, teams and talking points of the week.

Chelsea’s strong fixture run comes under scrutiny, as does the potential of a Leicester side under new management following the appointment of former Celtic and Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers.

Chip strategy is also revisited with recent injuries to key players and the strong form of Newcastle presenting further challenges and opportunities as Fantasy mangers navigate the upcoming blank and double Gameweeks.

Gameweek 29 is then looked at in detail, with clean sheet and differential prospects put under the microscope.

Proceedings take an unusual turn when Monty Python’s Life of Brian and He-Man earn mentions.

The crew finish the show by revealing  their transfer and captaincy plans. As the old football cliché goes “they can take the despair, it’s the hope that kills them”.

    Anyone have any thoughts on getting Vardy? Is there a decent chance he’ll perform under Rodgers?
    His next 5 fixtures are unreal; 3 away and he has second highest xGI all season for away games, and two easy home games.

      Wait and see first how Rodgers sets up Leicester I would go Maddison than switch to Vardy

        Yeah waiting is the right thing to do, but I have 2FT so kind of have to move now. I’m considering Son/Auba to Mane/Vardy

    2FT's and 1.9 spare. Which do you prefer?

    A - Son/Rashford > Hazard/Barnes
    B - Son/Biling > Hazard/Hayden
    C - Biling/Rashford > Hayden/Higuain
    D - Something else?

    Fabianski
    Bennett - Robertson - Kolasinac
    Salah - Son - F.Anderson - Pogba
    Rashford - Jiminez - Aguero

    Speroni - Digne - Wan Bissake - Biling

    Hi guys, need a sanity check here.

    Currently have:
    Guaita / Boruc
    Bednarek / Bennett / AWB / Doherty / TAA
    Barnes /Pogba / Son / Mane / Salah
    Barnes / Jimenez / Vardy

    Are these reasonable moves to make?

    GW29: Son -> Sterling
    GW30: Bennett/AWB -> Luiz
    GW31: Sterling -> Hazard
    GW32: Mane/Salah -> Sterling

    Gives me 9 players for GW31

    Currently having my worst ever FPL season having dropped to around 200k and looking for dramatic ideas to try and claw back to some money positions in MLs.

    My current thinking is to go all in on Leicester with a triple up and hope it works out given the math is there (good players + good fixtures + good attacking manager).

    If you were (or indeed are) looking to make up some serious ground, what would your plays be?

      Tricky ... Wilson, Stan & Lerma all back soon, Solanke in the picture too ... the mids & attacking spots are quite congested and rotation for all looks on the cards, so can’t see the lad rushed back and even then early substitutions and the odd benching will be the order of the day

    I am in a strange situation.
    Had 2 FTs last week but not used any. Again 2FT this week but only players I want to ship are AWB, Kamara but abosutely no one in that range.

    Fabianski
    Robertson Doherty Bednarek
    Sterling Salah Son Pogba Hazard
    Rashford Jimenez
    Button Bennett AWB Kamara 0.0 itb

    Any ideas? ( I am keeping Son and Rash for now)

      I'm fed up with Wolves GK+defence but surely you play Bennett over Bednarek. Otherwise sell for 4.2m 31/33 def maybe. You can't do anything else without sacrificing front 7

    Which transfer is more important for the next few GW's

    a. Son > Mane (have Salah & Robbo)

    b. Rash > Higuian (have Pogba & Luiz)

    this would be using my FT.

        Jeez Kiwi. I need to make a transfer here! I've got two. Never have I let one burn. I could just do JWP > Brooks and save one, bench him this week. But then I think I prefer Fraser which means two transfers needed. Anderson > 6.2 mid or Pereira to 4.4 def

      I brought in both players but selling Salah is a bit questionable since you're going to want him back in 31 and it's another transfer to spend

        Already prepared my team for the gw31 and will be captaining Mane that gw.. As I dont have the FH I feel it makes sense to bring Hazard in.. Will also cap Sterling this gw.. Feels like a good move and time will show (fingers crossed) 🙂

        Disagree, would pick Hazard over Hig all day long.. Higuain is so overhyped and not even close to defend his pricetag (9,5) 2 goals against Hud is not enough to convince me at least.. We all know what Hazard can do on his best day.. 🙂
