Recorded during the last few minutes of Gameweek 28’s fixtures, the Scoutcast crew cling to the hope of huge points hauls right to the final whistle.

For Az and Joe, though, the evening proved particularly frustrating as they are left to settle for a mere dribble of 11th-hour returns from the likes of Paul Pogba.

At least one of the crew saw their hope rewarded. Special guest Adam Hopcroft, who was filling in for the red-flagged podcast pair of David and Luke, ended the night on 62 points to set him on course for his sixth top 10,000 overall finish.

Amid the excitement of a Gameweek finale, the crew also find time to mull over the key players, teams and talking points of the week.

Chelsea’s strong fixture run comes under scrutiny, as does the potential of a Leicester side under new management following the appointment of former Celtic and Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers.

Chip strategy is also revisited with recent injuries to key players and the strong form of Newcastle presenting further challenges and opportunities as Fantasy mangers navigate the upcoming blank and double Gameweeks.

Gameweek 29 is then looked at in detail, with clean sheet and differential prospects put under the microscope.

Proceedings take an unusual turn when Monty Python’s Life of Brian and He-Man earn mentions.

The crew finish the show by revealing  their transfer and captaincy plans. As the old football cliché goes “they can take the despair, it’s the hope that kills them”.

Very relucantantly moved him on to bring a rested and in form Sterling in (for free) for at least the next 2 matches of bou + WAT... had no other City.

I know Son is very capable of returns, but Spurs not really been on it recently. Took a gamble, hopefully pays off.

Woulda ditched for Mane by BGW31 anyway!

I've got a second interview tomorrow but it can wait:
    Sussed my 'plan':
    Currently have 7 gw31ers/ 33ers
29: Auba to Higuain and Son to Hazard (-4) (gives me 9 gw31ers)
30: Bennett to Diop and Rashford to Arnie (if fit) or Pogba to Anderson/ Maddison if Arnie not fit (-4) (11 gw31ers)
31: Spare transfer, maybe Camarasa to Brooks
32: free hit, you know the rest...

Both hits are comfortably covered on RMT points
    29's transfers, compare 29, 30, 31
    30's transfers, compare 30, 31 and 33

There's no excuse for not fielding 11, unless you've got 3 ManU, 3 Wolves, 3 City or something similar. Do you agree?

    A) Son > Sterling (C)
    B) Anderson, Auba > Sterling (C), Vardy/Higuin/Arnie (-4)
    C) Anderson, Son >, Hazard (C), Mane (-4)
    D) Puncheon, Auba > Hazard (C), Vardy (-4)
    E) Puncheon, Auba > Mane, Vardy/Higuin/Arnie (-4) - this option means having to captain Pogba.

I think he'll hook Aguero off asap. Personally am on Sterling with Pogba VC.

On the basis you don't have Sterling I'd go Haz (who i don't have!) then Pogba

    1. Brooks or H.Barnes
    2. Higuain or Vardy

    For 29, 30, 31 and 33

I'm looking to get rid of bednarek, Kola, moutinho and son to have a team for GW31

Any suggestions on who to bring in for this GW? I'm thinking of the options below:

    1. son for Antonio
    2. bednarek for perriera
    3. moutinho for maddison
    4. kola for Luiz

    2ft and 1.9 itb

    Alisson
    Robertson-doherty-kola
    son-Pogba-Salah-mountinho
    aguero-rondon-Rashford

    subs:
    Speroni-bednarek-fraser-awb

Wait for news on Kola and why he was subbed off so early- earlier posts suggests he has been carrying a knock. If out then 4 otherwise 2

What would you do with this team? I'm really struggling to decide

    Fabianski
    Luiz Robbo Pereira
    Salah Pogba Anderson Jota Son
    Auba Jiminez

    Woodman Barnes AWB Kolasinac

    1FT, £0M ITB

    Really debating the wildcard..

Wildcard is a bit hasty when you can get more return from it in a few weeks.

Thoughts on Son, Kolasinac, Alisson to Sterling, TAA, Boruc -4?

    Alisson
    Alonso Doherty Kolasinac
    Salah Hazard Pogba Son
    Rashford Jimenez King

    Guaita Digne Kiko Gunnarson

    How does this Wildcard look?
Allows 11 for BGWS. Will FH GW32. Also can make a strong BB team for DGW35.

    GKP: Patricio, Boruc.
DEF: Robertson, TAA, Bennett, Steve Cook, Chilwell.
MID: Antonio, Barnes, Hazard, Mané, Sterling.
    FWD: Aguero, Jiminez, King.

Aside from this week i dont think it's essential until DGW35: will bring in Pogba/Martial that week at a minimum. This week i think City, Mane & Hazard are priorities.

I'm considering playing Wildcard this week also and the team I made was:

          Patricio Fabianski
          Robbo TAA Shaw Luiz Schar
          Sterling Mane Pogba Hazard/Maddison Hayden
          Aguero/Vardy Rashford Barnes

Glad im not alone on the wildcard front. Nice team, United is the main difference.

Yeah I have no idea what to do honestly. Rivals have caught up recently because of a poor few weeks and just feel like a wildcard is needed.

Feel like United players are important this week, but they are also easy to sell for other BGW players if need be

Same here, have dropped from 60k to 300k and don't back my own team anymore. Pogba could hurt me though.

If you can create a good team for BGW31 and BGW33 with that wildcard you should be good to go considering you will be using FH32 (as will I), so how will you get yourself prepared for BB DGW35?

Will have 8 DGW players, 7 singles, but the 7 singles will be: Boruc (FUL), TAA (car), Robbo (car), Cook (FUL), Mané (car), King (FUL), Arnie (LEI).

Sterling set to rise tonight which would price me out; shall i get it done?

do it if you're certain not having the Wildcard in 34 won't be that big a deal... atm I can't decide

DGW35 fixtures arent that great for the doubles, so im getting it done. Thanks!

Current team isn't terrible (but lacks City, Mane, Hazard) but playing it now doesnt put me at any serious disadvantage. Confident i can make a strong bench boost team for DGW35 without a GW34 wildcard.

Go for it then, I like to keep my Wildcard for just before the DGW to maximise the use of my BB chip. Lots of player could get injured or go out of form between now and gw35

    Start one:

    a) Lascelles
    b) Diop.

    Fab is keeper.

    Thanks.

Thoughts on this GW 31 team?

    Fabianski
    Robertson, TAA, Lascelles, Taylor
    Salah, Maddison, Anderson, Fraser
    King, Higuain

I think it looks great, so I'm tempted to start building towards it.

May change King to Barnes. Not 100% this team, just something almost like this
