Sunday’s second Premier League match sees Liverpool take on Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield. Kick-off on Merseyside is at 16:30 BST.

The Reds only have one fixture in Gameweek 32 but this is the first of two games for Spurs in this round of matches, with Crystal Palace the visitors to north London in midweek.

Son Heung-min is the highest-profile absentee from Mauricio Pochettino’s starting XI, with the South Korea international only among the substitutes.

Lucas Moura starts alongside Harry Kane instead, with Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen also included in the visitors’ line-up.

Pochettino appears to be adopting a three-man central defence, with Kieran Trippier and Danny Rose deployed as wing-backs.

Trent Alexander-Arnold has recovered from a back injury to take his place at right-back and there are few surprises in Jurgen Klopp’s starting XI, save for perhaps Fabinho‘s benching.

James Milner – who is widely accepted to be Liverpool’s first-choice penalty taker ahead of Mohamed Salah – starts in central midfield instead.

Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino make up a familiar-looking front three, while Andrew Robertson, Alisson and Virgil van Dijk are predictable starters in the hosts’ backline.

Mane has only blanked twice in the last nine Gameweeks and was the third-most-bought midfielder of Gameweek 32, despite only having one fixture.

Salah, who comes into this match off the back of a two-week rest over the international break, was sold by well over half a million FPL bosses ahead of Saturday’s deadline.

Liverpool XI (4-3-3): Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson, Henderson, Wijnaldum, Milner, Mane, Salah, Firmino.

Spurs XI (3-4-1-2): Lloris, Alderweireld, Sanchez, Vertonghen, Trippier, Sissoko, Eriksen, Rose, Dele, Lucas, Kane.

    Who wins this h2h game?

    a) DDG, Ryan, Dunk, Azpi, Hudson-Odoi, Neves, Sane, Jimenez, Murray and 8 points

    b) Ederson, Schluup, Sterling, Son, Deulofeu, Bats

    1. Lionel Ronaldo
      7 years, 3 months ago

      (A) is poor but might just edge it given the 8 points lead and the sheer number of players.

Probably building around Mane and Kun, with a cheapo Soton&Watford bench (Valery, JWP, Deulofeu etc), plus a BHA defense.

I don't get it why FH'ers are angry? Half set is done the other half yet to be played if you went with good players you will definitely be rewarded. Chill out and wait for the end of Wednesday to analyze if you made the right choice playing the chip or perhaps not.

A bit of consistency with the rules is all thats needed, whether its a FH template player or not.

FPL getting as bad as the Prem refs a few times this season, maybe FPLVAR will be brought in soon.

I have learnt not to complain about decisions made by FPL tower, it is their game and whatever they decide there isn't much you can do about it. I understand the frustration though.

Azpi goal was a real stroke of luck for me. Came down to a choice between him & Mili for my final spot this GW, and wasn't feeling too clever about it at all when he was on 1pt after being booked.

Took Salah out on FH btw & really not bothered about the assist. At the end of the day it's still 13.3M or something for the odd assist.

    1. JIMMY TUGGINS

No one should be bothered about it, I don't think anyone realistically would've even thought about keeping Salah if on FH.

How FPL assists are awarded: Rebounds

    https://www.premierleague.com/news/827841

"Players who have their shots saved, blocked by a defender or denied by the woodwork can earn an assist if the ball then falls to a team-mate to score or results in an own goal."

Going by this paragraph, it is definitely a Salah assist.

However, if we look at the FPL 'Help' Page rules on assist...

    https://fantasy.premierleague.com/a/help

"Assists are awarded to the player from the goal scoring team, who makes the final pass before a goal is scored. An assist is awarded whether the pass was intentional (that it actually creates the chance) or unintentional (that the player had to dribble the ball or an inadvertent touch or shot created the chance).

If an opposing player touches the ball after the final pass before a goal is scored, significantly altering the intended destination of the ball, then no assist is awarded. Should a touch by an opposing player be followed by a defensive error by another opposing outfield player then no assist will be awarded. If the goal scorer loses and then regains possession, then no assist is awarded."

First paragraph - indicates it is still an assist. However, "Should a touch by an opposing player be followed by a defensive error by another opposing outfield player then no assist will be awarded." indicates it should NOT be an assist (unless Lloris does not count as an opposing player...)

Make up your own mind 😐

    2. stat
      7 years, 3 months ago

The first section is talking about passes, the second section (Rebounds) is talking about shots

      So it is an assist

        Yeah, I suppose that's right.

Honestly though, how many actions does "results in an own goal" allow for, though?

I cannot find anything detailed enough that expands sufficiently.

Sometimes teams up their game a bit with the pressure off, but there's certainly no incentive for them to park the bus anymore which should be good news for Vardy owners.

Pretty sure they can beat Cardiff at home regardless of whether Aguero plays. Pep will do what's best for the team long-term and protect Aguero if necessary. If given the all-clear from the doctors though no reason not to play him of course.

      Doesnt matter. Its the principle.

      1. JohnnyMagrinho
        7 years, 3 months ago

In that it was an assist, according to FPL rules.

It wasn't a natural assist as we'd view it in footballing terms. But we're talking about Fantasy football.

And in FPL, it's an assist. So I really have absolutely no idea why you're banging on about the principle here.

        It's a legit FPL assist.

Virgil is a genius. Two on one, played the percentages and knew sissoko was desperate to pass to son ( who would definitely score) and not shoot himself . made sure he blocked the path and basically said' go on have a go 'knowing the longer sissoko held on to the ball the more his brain would start to unravel. And boy how it did.

Don't see why genius can't be applied in situations like this, it's always used with attackers..within the realm of the sport, what he did in that split second as a defender was ingenious.
