Everton face Arsenal in the only Premier League match taking place today, with kick-off at Goodison Park at 14:05 BST.

There were no shocks in the Toffees’ original line-up as Marco Silva unsurprisingly named the same starting XI that dominated in the 2-0 win over West Ham United last weekend.

However, Michael Keane took ill in the warm-up and has been replaced by Phil Jagielka at centre-half.

There are some noteworthy inclusions and omissions in Unai Emery’s team, however.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is named among the substitutes for the fourth time in Arsenal’s last six Premier League matches, as Alexandre Lacazette ploughs a lone furrow as the central striker in a 3-4-2-1.

Mesut Ozil starts his first away league game of 2019 and is joined by Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the attacking midfield positions, with the Armenia international taking the place of Alex Iwobi.

Aaron Ramsey has recovered from a minor groin injury but is only on the bench, so Mohamed Elneny gets a rare start in central midfield.

Granit Xhaka and Laurent Koscielny aren’t fit enough to feature, while Lucas Torreira serves the final match of a three-game ban.

Lacazette is among the form forwards in FPL, having delivered an attacking return in each of his last six appearances.

The French striker also scored – along with Aubameyang – in the reverse fixture back in September.

Arsenal haven’t recorded a clean sheet away from home all season, however.

Only Manchester City (eight) have kept more top-flight shut-outs than Everton (six) in 2019.

Four of the Toffees’ clean sheets have come in the last five Gameweeks.

No FPL player priced below £9.0m has scored more Premier League goals than Gylfi Sigurdsson or Richarlison (12 each) this season, meanwhile.

Everton XI (4-2-3-1): Pickford, Coleman, Jagielka, Zouma, Digne, Gomes, Gueye, Bernard, Sigurdsson, Richarlison, Calvert-Lewin.

Arsenal XI (3-4-2-1): Leno, Mustafi, Sokratis, Monreal, Maitland-Niles, Elneny, Guendouzi, Kolasinac, Özil, Mkhitaryan, Lacazette.

Has Ramsey gotten the armband.from Mesut? Has played with.more heart and fierceness in 5 mins than Ozil has the whole game.

Juventus, the lucky bastards. Many team would kill to have a leader like Rambo.

Aaron Ramsey wanted to stay, but Emery couldnt guarantee regular starts for him. Pretty clear, he may not be the best player on Arsenal, but he is the one who wears that badge with the most pride, and Arsenal means the most to him than eny other players in that squad. How Arsenal are lettinf him leave is beyond me. Givr the guy the guarantee he deserves.

          This is incorrect!

Ramsey represents everything that is wrong in football in terms of money ruining it. He deliberately ran his contract down so that when he moved he could be offered highly inflated wages (£400k per week) because the clubs that bought him would get him on a free transfer.

But if you break your leg while you are running down the contract then it’s career over.

I think you can look at it whatever way you want, his actions are clear.

Sanchez did exactly the same thing.

How can you tell me he loves arsenal more than money?

You are clearly wrong, he loves money more than arsenal.

              1. Party time
                7 years, 3 months ago

Everyone loves money, but he would not have left if Arsenal offered what he was asking for. Ramsey has been at for the past 9-10 years.

At this current time, I also believe he is a better player than Özil. Ramsey helped Arsenal win their first major title since the invincibles. I think he scored on both occasions. Take it how you see it but in football, some players breathe the air of a club.
Ramsey Wilshere & Walcott were signed at Arsenal for the future at a very young age. It's sad the Arsenal board is very corrupt

He was asking emery to guarantee him starts week in week out before emery had even arrived.

A manager has surely got s right to cause competition between his players and say everyone’s fighting for their place. Ramsey could have just shown the manager he was the best for the position rather than just running off to whoever offered him the highest wage.

He’s a great layer, but respresents everything wrong in football IMO.

I do not know where you got that information, I never saw any news like that but even if he asked for that, he has been at Arsenal before Emery won a title for himself, before Emery became Emery. He deserves to start, he deserves the money he is asking for. The biggest mistake Arsenal have done this season asides Emery overthinking with substitutes and messing my fpl up, is selling Ramsey.

He definitely deserves to start and deserves the money he was asking for, I’m agreeing with that.

I elaborate on my opinion below in response to Forever in our Shadows post to me.

I get you but I insist, If he was offered what he wanted, he would be an Arsenal player, Arsenal is a f wealthy club. If he never wanted to stay he woud not have had contract talks with the club. At a time, Ramsey agreed for even lower than he initially asked for, incase you do not know.

                        The boardroom is corrupt.

At the end of the day it just all comes back round to the money issues in football.

This debate goes full circle. Arsenal bought Ozil years back and put him on a silly wage of £300k per week. That creates a problem straight away because now Ramsey wants the same as Ozil. Ozils wages of £300K per week are ridiculous in itself. Ramsey would have been happy and accepted an offer from arsenal If he didn’t know his team mate was on a silly high wage.

Ramsey walking into the juventus dressing room as their highest paid player is now going to cause the same issues for juventus further down the line as arsenal are experiencing with the players wanting to earn equal to Ozil.

If there was a football wage cap, all these situations would be resolved.

              It’s sad though isn’t it.

It’s slowly becoming a trend. Look at Sanchez, he did the same to get a ridiculous wage from Utd.

But on the other hand, who doesnt want a high wage? Ramsey never asked for a raise from Arsenal to extend his contract, just regulairty of starts.
But I agree that money shouldn't be focus it is at this day and age. Its just the reality, many chase it.

How can emery guarantee him 1st team football before he even gets there. As a manager surely he has to say to the players your all fighting to prove yourselves to me. Ramsey could have pulled his socks up and shown emery what he’s made of, instead he just throws his dummy out the pram?

No doubting we would all like a pay rise, but you can’t compare people like us wanting a pay rise to the money issues in football. £400k a week for a player like Ramsey? Come on.....

Total BS. Ramsey sold himself as anyone would once told to go. If you could get 4 times your salary after your company told you to go you would do the same. My point was, Arsenal should be paying him 300k a week not Ozil.

I agree arsenal should be paying him £300K a week, similar to Ozil.

However, if he fought hard enough he’d have got that at Arsenal. Instead, I reckon early in his contract he planned to run it down so that he could sell himself to another club for highly inflated wages.

I just think that’s wrong, there needs to be some sort of a cap on these wages as it’s out of control.

No offence, but I just think people are blind if they think players like Ramsey/Sanchez didn’t plan this for many years. These situations are becoming more frequent now and I think it’s situations like these that contribute to the money issues in football.

What happens at juventus now? Ramsey turns up, never kicked a ball for them before, walks into the dressing room on a higher wage than everyone in that room. How is that healthy for the dressing room and for juventus?

Sokratis ban should help him for the next two, but they probably wont have enough CBs to have Kola at wing back.

I don't need him at CB, I need him at Full Back or Wing Back. Too much of a rotation risk in the double when I intend to bench boost

No, he means the ban means it's more likely that Monreal deputises at CB, opening the left side for Kolasinac.

even for us that sold him for Pereira in the blank after he kept bringing 0 and 1 pts?

Well, I just brought him on a FH for this GW only so a goal would be nice 😀
And Pereira still got an assist which is not that bad

    Digne last 6 matches.

    5, 7, 4, 6, 6, 6

CS against Liverpool, Chelsea & most likely Arsenal.

Is no man city to risky on a WC?

Yes Imo. Crunch time now and city will play top dogs vs Utd and Spurs. And despite those fixtures being tricky in paper city could easily beam both teams comfortably.
