Everton v Arsenal was the only Premier League match to take place on Sunday, so attention now switches to the FA Cup semi-final between Wolverhampton Wanderers and Watford.

Both of these sides enjoy two fixtures in Double Gameweek 35 and several of their players will be very much in the minds of Fantasy managers as they prepare their squads for the season run-in.

There are three changes to the Wolves side that beat Manchester United in midweek but the team that lines up at Wembley is effectively Nuno Espirito Santo’s first-choice starting XI, save for the inclusion of cup goalkeeper John Ruddy over Rui Patricio.

Romain Saiss gets the nod over Ryan Bennett at centre-half, while Jonny returns at wing-back as Ruben Vinagre makes way.

Raul Jimenez and Diogo Jota resume their partnership up front, while Matt Doherty – owned by more than one in five FPL managers – lines up on the right flank.

Javi Gracia has made two changes to the team that beat Fulham on Tuesday, with Heurelho Gomes replacing Ben Foster as anticipated.

More noteworthy for Fantasy managers ahead of Gameweek 35 is the inclusion of Andre Gray over Gerard Deulofeu up front.

Gray set up two of the Hornets’ goals against the Cottagers in midweek and was talked up by fellow striker Troy Deeney in the club captain’s post-match interview.

Wolves XI (3-5-2): Ruddy, Saiss, Coady, Boly, Doherty, Dendoncker, Moutinho, Neves, Jonny, Jota, Jimenez.

Watford XI (4-4-2): Gomes, Kiko Femenía, Mariappa, Cathcart, Holebas, Hughes, Doucouré, Capoue, Pereyra, Deeney, Gray.

Is there a legitimate case for a TC35 and BB36 strategy?

If people want triple Brighton + Camarasa or any single gameweek players in GW35 (except Liverpool), is it really worth using a BB chip for Brighton players with Wolves and Spurs away? How many points realistically could they get in those games? Perhaps TC could score more points than those players combined.

DGW teams have decent fixtures in GW36:
    Brighton v Newcastle
    Watford v Wolves
    Southampton v Bournemouth
    Spurs v West Ham
    Burnley v Man City
    Leicester v Arsenal

Also with Liverpool v Huddersfield in the same week.

At the moment BB35 teams may find it difficult to bench players in GW36. People bringing in the likes of Ryan, JWP, Jota, Deeney, Doucoure, Deulofeu etc.. as budget options but they could still haul with those fixtures so using BB could be a useful way to navigate that gameweek.

You could save FT in 35 and bring in 2 players to maximise BB in 36.

    Pros:
Use of TC in a DGW
    Saves benching headache in 36
Not using BB chip on tough fixtures

    Cons:
    Planning transfers in advance
Deciding on viable TC choice in 35
BB in a SGW could have some rotation risks

    Thoughts?

If I still had my TC I'd do that

    2. Jay_
        7 years, 26 days ago

Seriously thinking about it. Another big con though is rotation in 36. If 1 or 2 big names are benched, it’ll hurt.

Although Mane/Salah TC looks more appealing I think
