OK, was out, didn't pay any attention to Champions League. Can someone update me on the injury front? I know Kane will be out for a while, but is Aguero injured too? He's flagged on the UCL website.

Oh really? I'm pretty sure he wasn't flagged when I got him in my CL team, maybe that was a discrepancy between the mobile version of the website and the regular one. Thanks both.

PPG suggest he is the best captain. 6+2 in those games around expected value. Finding better captain not automatic just for one game.

not happy seeing Kane injury but it does make for an interesting run home in fantasy. Blessing in disguise to be different from the 'template'

I sold Kun for Kane and already lost 0.3 so reluctant to get him back
Might stick with Vardy and Bobby and booster the midfield

Firmino could be a great shout. I want Aguero for the rest of season though, not just for WC / BB. Am going to double with Sterling.

I'm not so sure. Kane out might make the teams more template because we'll all be able to afford more expensive players elsewhere. With Kane in we'd have more decisions to make, which would in turn make for more variety.

There should be more variations now, anyway it’s a chance to be brave and make a run up the standings

          • 10 Years

Why do you think there will be more variation? Before the injury most people had Kane in their teams, but this in turn forced them to make interesting decisions elsewhere since they couldn't afford everyone. Now, without Kane, all the more expensive players will be easily affordable, and thus will appear on most teams

Bournemouth and Cardiff away are hardly potent attacking forces and Dunk/Duffy have only four yellows in 32 games, so would be unfair for you to assume they would get a YC based on the stats.

Apologies in advance for quite a long post but interested to get people's thoughts on this 🙂

Anyone else here considering taking a host of hits to capitalise on a DGW35 BB?

I remember seeing a similar post to this in an earlier DGW and found it interesting, and as I was somewhat forced into using my WC earlier in the season I've found myself considering it as an option to make the most of my last remaining chip.

My current team, as below, only contains 8 players doubling in DGW 35 (Doublers asterixed *):

    Leno* Etheridge
    Robbo Periera Doherty* AWB Bednarek*
    Haz Bilva* Ozil* Redmond* Camarasa
    Aguero* Vardy Jim*

If I suppose that in an ideal world all 15 of my players would double, then this is a potential 7 extra games (I'll be optimistic and assume rotation doesn't put a spanner in the works) that I could be missing out on (15 players doubling = 15 x 2 = 30 games, 8 players doubling = (8 x 2) + 7 = 23 games).

I'm lining up moving to one of these two teams over the next two GWs - for clarity, ^ represents a transfer before GW34, ^^ a transfer before GW35.

    Leno Foster^
    Trippier^ Kola^^ Doherty Duffy^ Bednarek
    Eriksen^ Bilva Ozil Redmond Son^
    Aguero Vardy Jim

6 transfers over two weeks with an FT in each, so -16 points in hits,

    OR

    Leno Foster^^
    Trippier^ Doherty Duffy^ Valery^^ Bednarek
    Sterling^^ Bilva Eriksen^ Redmond Son^
    Laca^^ Vardy Jim

8 transfers over two weeks with an FT in each, so -24 points in hits.

Both teams afford (including Duffy's extra game in GW34) an extra 7 games - so to break even, the players would have to average 2.3 points per extra game for the 1st option (16/7 = 2.286...) or 3.4 points per extra game for the 2nd option (24/7 = 3.43...)

To me, 2.3 points per game seems easily achievable and the moves allow me to bring in players who have good fixtures and form for the run-in. 3.4 is perhaps more of a stretch but still feasible.

Is this sound reasoning? Are other players who don't have their wildcard considering similar moves? I'm normally hit averse but this seems to be justifiable. TIA for any comments.

Ta and fair enough, there are definitely injury/rotation risks that could completely screw it up (similar to how I ended up having to use my WC in the first place!)

High risk, high reward basically. Personally I would just prioritize a couple of big hitters to take a calculated risk on.

You're right, I've comfortably won my ML though and am sitting on about 40k OR so tempted to see if I can hit a few big GWs to break into the top 10k. Could definitely be modified to be a bit less risky though

And you are also planning very bad moves with defenders, back to drawing board, Trippier is rotation risk and Robbo +4 much better option for example.

      1. lankdog
        • 9 Years
        6 years, 10 months ago

Nice to hear it can work! Yeah unfortunately a lot of the deadwood I want to shift are doubling, which makes it a bit harder to plan around. Trippier just a risk cos of the congestion? Would have thought him pretty nailed otherwise - Alderweireld an option? And yeah, agree the Kun move isn't great, I definitely think I'd be leaning towards the first option right now

      skip long reading..
normally why majority done here as WC34 and BB35 as predicted what 35 will be chosen..

      since your situation like this..
i will not get too many hit (the most 8 will do)

and there is no guarantee the monster return from the chosen.

Its depends how you think for it, but whoever you choose. Would be other get the same as yours since there is no differential.

and ranking wont be different too.

    Ryan, Foster
    Robertson, Dunk, Bennett, Duffy, Valery
    Stirling, Jota, Højbjerg/JWP, Mane, Son

Vardy to Deeney for BB GW35

Rocking a fairly template WC at the moment, and just did Kane > Kun.

So many other questions now I have some extra funds: Drop Deeney? Need both Raz and Kun? Salah over Mane? Downgrade Trip or Robbo for the funds?

Or just wait for the Kane/what-now article I assume will be written tomorrow?

    1. BIG TONES

I'm going Raz and Kun, but definitely not essential to do so. Just feel you will always get a strong City attacker in any game by doing so. Who would you drop Deeney for? He's in my WC team alongside Jimi and Kun.

Ive gone Salah over Raz. Simply because Salah is turning into a huge differential as plenty of people dropping due to no DGW. Cardiff away and Huddersfield home in next 3. I also see Liverpool rolling Chelsea over!

I told you the WC teams were a waste of time.

Kane injury was certainly unfortunate. I guess that rules out the BB36 strategy, people can balance their BB35 teams now

TSparkes is now going to be back with another 300 posts in the next hour. Brand spanking new RMT.

Already did my no Kane WC a while ago ;). Don't worry, I'll simmer down a bit. Wanna keep my Lucas Moura pick on the low so I can bring with 1000 posts after his haul.

I feel the Kane injury is unfortunate for teams that planned to go Kaneless for the rest of the season!

Could have made them very fortunate too.

Not for me. Can't trust his fitness to play both games

Forward slots are extremely precious. 3 are not enough for random Ings punt

    My team:
    Alisson - Boruc
    Robbo - Pereira - AWB - Daniels - Diop
    Hazard - Mane - Tielemans - Pogba - Billing
    Kun - Vardy - King

+ have 1.1m itb and no WC to use

My current plan is Pogba+Daniels -> Son+Duffy for a hit. Is that an obvious choice?
Would you do anything else for more hits?

    I got a few questions , please help 😀

    a) Jimenez or Murray (GW34)
    b) No arsenal love for DGW 35? I'm currently on Lacazzete and Kolasinac
    c) Laporte a must since I'm on WC now?
    d) Captain : Son / Erikson / Aguero / Sterling / Duffy

      B) Wait after EL matches to decide
      C) If you can afford him, but wouldn't go out of my way to bring him in
      D) I'll probably go Eriksen

Think I'm going to side with Vardy for one more go, as he has done me proud with 64 points from captaining him twice previously this season!

Definitely thinking of backing the in-form player right

Thats how I feel mate plus Newcastle have a pretty poor away record given how well organised they normally are! Also, I can easily forgive a blank from him (even though it would hurt as its a Friday night game).

Rondon, Luiz and AWB on my bench which is very strong considering I've no BB chip left! At least I'm covered in the event of major rotation eh!
Non-wildcarders, how is your bench looking this GW?
